Their being there in the first place was the greed of the company and the guy that was claimed to have died. The guy was so selfish to have sent his own nephew on a death mission for $30k.
Greed made Daniel and Fraisser kill other crew members.
But he died giving his family the life they deserved, esp the young lad who was about to be a father for the first time

It's always the greediest person in a crew that kills everyone or throw a wrench in the plan
What i've learned from this is if you dig a ton of gold you can't tell anyone in order to survive if anyone knows that gold they will kill you to get all the gold
That's actually fairly accurate to real life for all of history.
Even if you do find some mega lode in a cave good luck thinking you're going to be rich and live the good life. More likely you're going to become a target and someone bigger and more powerful is going to take it from you.
You have to move it in small quantities quietly to stay under the radar and hope no one finds the main stash.

@@Jakefrmstate0 yes but you don't have to tow it anywhere and it is already flooded so you don't have to worry about the air coming out of it or any type of pressurization you can literally just go down there with a cutting torch go right into the area that you already know it to be and load everything up on a basket and bring it up to your boat and be a very simple operation if you were concerned about it going over the edge or something like that you could just as easily drill into the nearest Rock & run some steel chains and you know TIG weld them or attach them in some way to the back or side of the submarine if it was very much concerned at that point but this would be a very easy job with an experienced crew
you need 2 dive suits a small boat and proper windge

Why would you only talk about the split until after the voyage began? That seems like something to talk about before you even put them on the crew.
I was thinking about too. You make sure that everyone's on the same page before you even get on the contract. And that contract has to be a damn good one, like equal share. That's how things work on high seas.

Bad ending. At the end the Hero has lost his job, marriage & the only plan to retrieve Gold alive. WTF maan. If it's fiction then at least show the hero victorious at the end. Spirit of Sacrifice can also be portrayed by other ways. I don't like such movies that show defeat at the doorway of success.
