Great vid with lots of common sense. I've been campervanning for 45 yrs and do most of your tips. We always keep a tin of corned beef, new potatoes and peas in the van for a warming impromptu meal. Also four days long life food and clothing in a box in the house for very short notice trips away. Keep up the good work! Begrudgingly, from a Lancastrian
Just started watching your channel, I'm enjoying the diversity of your videos. It's nice to have a mix of upgrades to the van, and how you've fitted them. Items you use whilst camping and generally out and about, and little trips you take with your family. DO NOT! worry about your waffling, I for one thinks it adds humour and a difference to every other channel out there. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
got a campervan in march cant wait to get out with it been watching all your videos very helpful and you are very funny you kept me sane all through the lock down also really good tips of things to get very useful
Ah thank you dawn .. welcome to the world of campervanning! I have a few videos on the channel showing how small changes can mane a huge difference storage wise.. I have built shelves and bought some accessories that really help... Have a binge watch of some of them tonight, it should give you some great ideas
Thanks for these dude, just entering the VanLife world and our little “Vee” is being built now... great part 1 & 2. Really helpful and a fellow northerner! Bonus! Sheffield here
No worries at all, I bet you are super excited for Vee (great name) to arrive... Just uploaded another one with some stuff in it that you might get use out of too... High 5 for the northerners in the house haha!! Thanks for watching!
Haha brilliant... Steve and I can't wait to get back out in the fells again! We were chatting last night about the next trip! Thanks for subbing to both channels bud
@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures my pleasure, looking forward to more vids and both channels. Cheers for taking the time to make them. Really good to watch and very helpful. Take care mate. Colin
So glad to have found your friendly, fun and informative channel and have subscribed. I’m just awaiting my VW conversion being completed and can’t wait to hit the road. Just for info, I managed to source a external black thermal front screen cover (polar) with a pull down centre part if you want to open it up in the daytime without removing it, online from Minster Products. Haven’t used it yet but gets good reviews and a decent price compared to many, so might be worth a look. PS. your ‘technical speak’ is just at the right level for me haha.
We have 3 electric cable adaptors, one with an English 3 pin plug, another with a continental plug, and a third with the blue 16amp plug as on the main cable. This latter plug I then rewired but with the live and negative wires reversed at the plug end only. This takes care of any reverse polarity which we have come across on some continental electric hook ups.
Brilliant advice thank you - Somebody mentioned about the reverse polarity to me a few weeks ago so I may either do what you have done or just buy a reverse polarity plug instead... ;)
@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures I did the reverse rewiring because there weren't any reverse polarity plugs on sale at the time I needed one. Perhaps they're available now?
Thanks Brad, I am in the process of creating a part 2 for this - Loads of additions to the van. Also another van tour showing the changes we have made since the last one... Utterly jealous of you being in a possition to be starting your new project. I would love to do another van (or 2) - Maybe I will in the future ;) Dont forget to subscribe ;) Have a super eveing and thanks for watching
nice to see bungee cords with a hook like that the old ones use to have a single hook , one of our friends put one one one side of something, as he stretched it the end shot off the other side and the hook stuck in his eye. The back of his eye exploded and now has a glass one
"5 inch is substantial" I guess it depends on the context? Not sure why it has taken so long for these excellent tips to be noticed by the old Al Gore rhythm and given to me as a hint? Many thanks. Campervan-tastic.
Happy I could help Steve - I should be adding a PT2 soon (its in the making - every time I think its finished I find something else essential haha) - Dont forget to subscribe and have an ace evening ;)
Hey buddy, there is a video on the channel of me building a board that fits the gap called "pop top upgrade" or similar... that'll stop your pillows falling 🤣🤣
Are you satisfied with the Megavan mats for the door steps? I.e. don’t they move when getting in and out of the van? I would be worried that when the dogs jump out, the mats will go with them.
Yorkshire Pop Top Adventures Thanks for responding so quickly. When you say ‘pin them down’ how did you do it? I was thinking maybe trying double-sided carpet tape.
Hiya John, Thanks buddy, I did a video but sadly there was no audio to it (teething problems early on) so sadly I don't have the installation video for the awning rail :(
Its a super easy job, if I can give you any advice, drill holes in the rails first as it makes things much easier. Also use silicone sealant on the underside of the rails too. Screw in the screw, then unscrew it, pump in some silicone, then screw it back in, should give a nice water tight seal then... :)
Hiya Irene, I have but have yet to edit it - its not a great video I will be honest so will probably tag it to the end of another video or upload it as a short install vid - the rail has been amazing so far (after a lot of use over the last couple of months) so I may even do a "chatty" update and install vid - Watch this space!
Love any tips for camper van camping. Some we already use, and some of yours we hadn’t thought of and really helpful. I have one for winter camper vanning. If you use brushed/flannelette cotton pillow cases instead of just polyester or cotton, you won’t get that cold damp feeling when you lay your head on your pillow. The brushed cotton feels warm to the touch. We also use them in our poptop in summer as our summer nights can be chilly too. It was a game changer for us :)
Hi, thanks for your videos. In one of your videos you told us about little cans with oatmilk (like the ones you get in cafès for one cup of coffee). Can you tell me where to get those?
The biggest annoyance of the T6 and those cups as they dont. We put them in the door cup holder part. If we want one in the top dash we have two separate cups. The costa ones are good for the van because they don't leak even if they are upside down (we take the coffee on walks and that means we carry our own coffee and one person isn't lumbered with a massive flask in their bag and that's usually me 🤣🤣🤣)
Hi there, pick up our first T6 camper next week, new to this and cant wait. My wife found your "essentials 1 & 2" and we've found them invaluable. Honest, down to earth and very informative with a hint of humour. The big ask is about the beaudens generator, it looks great for off grid or wild camping, will it run a 22" 240v tv, and if so for how long. Keep up the good work, from a fellow Leeds lad. M.O.T. P.S. the wife says she can't find the scrub a dub, any more info on that please.
Top video just watch ur other van tour video top stuff and good advice we are just in the process of starting our t6 conversion doing the work urself to ur camper did you save a lot of money ?
Thanks again Lewis.. I am very jealous, I would love to do another one (maybe I will and maybe I will video it next time, who knows lol) - We saved 1000s doing it ourselves, the hardest part was looking for a decent base van... Take your time searching for the right van and make a spreadsheet - Spredsheets where my friend haha
Kent Dubs makes excellent thermal window cover. I have one for my T3 and it's fantastic.

We had that pop up bowl. One of the creases split. One essential is a fire extinguisher or two.
