And he managed to preserve his voice for decades. It's quite amazing.
He actually had a serious throat injury in 2011, so when you watch his shows around that time he is a little pitchy. He actually had to reteach himself how to sing differently, and now he’s actually somehow singing even better live than he ever had before. He was always great, but he’s got it down to such a science now that there is no effort for him to pull this off.

How many realize that corpse without a soul was 40 years ago, and King Diamond is in his late 60's.
Saw Fate at the Fillmore in Philly last year. He sounded better than ever and I saw him solo 4 other times prior, every tour hes done in the states since he came back. 2 shows in NYC, and 2 in Philly. The MF shoe destroyed!!!!

Hanks guitar has been around the block a few times lol He writes more kick ass riffs in 1 song than a lot of other players do on a whole album. He is the lick master!
Micheal Denner is just as good thats why they kicked ass. Just wish he was on this as well as Timi Hansen(RIP) and Kim Ruzz

Years go by and still those riffs and guitar solos crack my mind. this is the Metal I grew up with, amazing band !!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Wow can't believe they sound this good in 2022....performance sounded as good as the studio (but without all the tricks).
I really want to know how King Diamond can still nail his crazy vocals, yet you have countless other older singers who seem to be completely incapable of singing anything even remotely like they did at their peak.
@@jeremyhoward9163 KD always had the ability, smoking held him back live. Especially in the 90s when he was fronting both bands, some times on the same bill which is nuts! Some people accused him of play back or pitch shifters which is dumb because you can clearly hear that he gets tired and flat in some parts of songs during the end of the show. People cant just accept that King is the fuckin KING

Welcome to Wacken in the last 10 years. The crowds are always so fucking lame. Bloodstock and Hellfest are really the only huge international festivals with decent crowds.

The only way I managed to fall in love with this band was listening to Garage Inc. from Metallica first. I was quite shocked by the Kings voice when hearing the original, but the awsome music first made me bear it, then made me respect him 😂 Still can't blame anyone not getting it. 😅 A metalhead not knowing them isn't a true metalhead.

Excellent show ... never realized how tight this band was and I bought Melissa back in the 80s when it came out.. I took this band for granted
I was fortunate enough to fly to Europe back in '95 to play the same festival with Fate! Dream come true.

Im not hearing any tuned down songs, due to King Diamonds voice. His voice sounds like back in the day. That falsetto is still easily there. Then you hear bands like Metallica and Ozzy tuning down. Credit to King Diamond.
