Song four comes on and my life is forever changed! I had to have a guitar and I had a hero!! I couldn’t get enough information, read everything I could find. Believe it or not, I’ve had the privilege to see Elvis Presley, His 2nd to last concert of his life, in Arkansas in 1976 when I was 8; seen KISS in Lake Charles LA, in 1979@ age 11...oh, saw EVEL Knievel in Kansas City in 1974@ age 6...gotta say that of all of this, ACE Frehley really had the biggest impact on me. Don’t know why exactly, just that he did.

I was pissed. My mother had bad seats in the back and my sister had a seat up front. Guess who had the camera? That’s right! My mother! And I still have the picture and all you can see is this little white spot where Elvis is supposed to be! I assume they could hear the concert well. So I resented my sister after that. She wasn’t an Elvis fan like I am to this day. I never saw Evel Knievel but I remember him. He had guts to do those crazy jumps! And Kiss I saw on their 96 Reunion Tour! Ace and Peter were always my favorites. They put on a Party! It was great! 🎸💥🔥😎
Thanks for posting this, I was at this concert, right at the front. Ace absolutely rocked. Blew me away. Ace is King when he’s playing like this! Even the vocals were spot on you’d think you were listening to a much younger Ace. He was definitely in his element this night. The band was also killer. I’ve seen footage of him at later dates and was much sloppier, not on this night he killed. Best money I’ve spent in a long time. Again thanks for posting this!!
I've seen some very bad Ace Frehley performances in his older years, but this was surprisingly good. I love Ace and all his contributions, but normally the guy is a hot mess live. This renewed my faith in him. Great playing, plus he's surrounding himself with the right musicians and assigning them the right coverage parts.
Agree 100%. Its hard to defend him sometimes because he can disappoint live but this is great stuff. He looks and sounds really in his element. Good for him.
He plays quite well, let's be serious here. He is not a virtuoso but also he is not a bad guitar player...it's his voice. Ace's voice has never been "good" and I don't say it in a bad way, he never wanted to sing in Kiss because of that but until "Shock Me", he was insecure about his singing...but it kinda fit in the rock and roll world and well, there we have it.
Ace is timeless sounding. He is just a true original and never sounds old or out of style. He does get better with age and his sound is always evolving and is unpredictable

This is my take. Any time there is a break up or a member "leaves", why choose sides? Take advantage and go see both versions. I recently saw Foreigner (no original members - Mick Jones didn't show up for this show - he rarely plays live anymore) and they were fantastic. Set list was hit after hit and Kelly Hansen is amazing. If Lou Graham came to my town, I'd go watch him and enjoy his show as well. So sill that people piss and moan over who is right or wrong, or not sober or greedy. If the songs are good? Go support them and enjoy the show.

I saw Ace play at a few casinos. Once there were dining tables perpendicular to the stage and people could eat. Was right up against the stage. Assigned seating......the dude across from me was eating a bowl of soup while Ace was shredding and his smoking guitar solo just overhwhelmed us sitting there.
This is pure rock n roll much better than the fake rock concerts Paul and Gene are throwing these days. This is the KISS that I know. Kudos to Ace for keepin' it real.

Ace is the number one KISS character, but one of his KISS cruise concerts was very hideous=bad playing and singing. Then again all performers will have a bad night every now and then.
I saw kiss when they toured with def leopard in indianapolis and def lep opened with a killer and kiss' only high note of the show were a few old songs like hide your heart and tears are falling. ace has been kicking ass i hope they see the error of their ways

In all honesty I think KISS should have quit after the reunion tour.To see them reduced to a virtual parody today is a sad end to an amazing band. When I heard Paul struggling with the vocals I felt genuinely sorry for him, and the audience seemed as though they were trying not to notice.

I was hooked on Ace Frehley when i was 10 ,after seeing a small picture of him with his les paul in a rock magazine my older brother had,,i found out what band he played with, and the rest was history,,been a space Ace fan ever since,,I would love to meet him in person

Ace is the number one KISS character, but one of his KISS cruise concerts was very hideous=bad playing and singing. Then again all performers will have a bad night every now and then.
I saw kiss when they toured with def leopard in indianapolis and def lep opened with a killer and kiss' only high note of the show were a few old songs like hide your heart and tears are falling. ace has been kicking ass i hope they see the error of their ways

Damn! He's playing awesome here! What the hell is it with Gene Simmons saying all that shit about Ace? Unlike a current KISS show, Ace actually plays well and doesn't lip sync. To me, Ace was always the best part of KISS.
He does have TWO other top notch guitarists backing him up which he wouldn't have in KISS! Love Ace but he and Paul could not hold all that together on their own like they used to.
In Home Trainer Oakville awesome here but this isn’t every night for Ace, Ace has good nights & bad nights, when he has a bad night, it’s really bad, that’s why Gene said he wouldn’t rely on him for a whole tour
In Home Trainer Oakville this was August of 2018, he’s played plenty of shit shows since then and some great ones, he’s just not reliable for an entire tour, he’s still my favorite

ACE is the real space man 👍 growing up in Yonkers in the 70s everybody was a KISS fan like you could not believe our neighborhood had one of the best KISS Concerts put on by some teenagers I’ll never stop listening to kiss they helped us all a little bit along the way

Ace is Rock n roll...Alive is one of my favorite albums ever, this line up he has kicks ass. KISS was a great launch to his career obviously, however Ace has proved he doesn’t need KISS....or the maniacal egos. Rock on Ace....

In all honesty I think KISS should have quit after the reunion tour.To see them reduced to a virtual parody today is a sad end to an amazing band. When I heard Paul struggling with the vocals I felt genuinely sorry for him, and the audience seemed as though they were trying not to notice.

Catherine Turcol you can save your lame groupie story, he uses pedals. This is not to take away from Ace’s amazing talent. But yes, he uses pedals albeit not many but you’d be ignorant to think he doesn’t. Rack mounted or not, there’s at least 3 pedals in his signal chain at all time
