TX-55 METAL GEAR WAS TERRIFYING THEME FOR ME
Kyle Reese, the top soldier of Fox-Hound.
It's amazing how groundbreaking this game was. No one could ever know that Metal Gear on the MSX would kickstart one of the best gaming franchises of all time.
THank the good lord too and Kojima and team of course. I found it when MGS1 came out and man, I knew it was fantastic. What followed just kept getting better and better until Kofucki messed everything up. 🤣
Edit: wanted to be clear, Kofucki = Konami 😂
The other side of that is: think of all the games that were turds, and barely anyone remembers.
i feel sad that this was supposed to be a rambo inspired game. Imagine how much more Kojima would have gotten out of Rambo as a franchise if the technical difficulties didnt force this to be a sneacking game. There likely would be 20 more Rambo movies and Stallone would likely be president of United States, attacking north korea with bare fists. Kojima would have made Rambo into a japanese epic killing opera with or without all these furry animal names, complex plot twists and cardboard boxes

Kojima was at fault too he is not completely innocent look that up
@@TinkerGrape Oh I know man, but Konami really screwed all of us over hard. At least on this one. Look at the way they butchered the last game. I don't count survive btw. Lmao
Uh-oh! The truck have started to move!!
All your truck are belong to us.
i think you're thinking of the nes version
"This is big boss....
I forgot to tell you.."
I FEEL ASLEEP!
RESCUE MISSING OUR GREY FOX
UH-OH! THE TRUCK HAVE STARTED TO MOVE!
Even i only play this through once, i still found myself humming theme of tara from time to time, that's how iconic and memorable this is.
3:30 best part
yes
hahaha
TEAM REVEALED. USE CAUTION.
Cesar Andres i know i love this
lol
3:30
O.H Sentry: "Encountered the enemy. Requesting backup immediately!"
O.H CO: "Confirmed. Sending backup to your location, don't let the intruder escape! Shoot to kill!"
what song is it called
Brandon Yoon try Metal Gear Solid alert theme 1987
Sounds similar to the sentries in MGS2, specifically the Gurlukovich mercs.
The classic masterpiece that started it all. The rest is history......
It's unplayable now, sadly
@@pepsiman_14 wtf, why???
@@CaptainCapitulation bc of the little space on the cartridge, the game is small, so It would be short if we passed the scenarios only one time. So the solution to make games longer was making you going everywhere several times. And forcing you, like the "moving truck". AND HERE'S THE PROBLEM: they don't tell you what you have to do or what you need or where is the thing you are looking for. How do i know where is the enemy suit? AND HOW I KNOW THAT I CAN PUNCH WALLS AND DESTROY THEM IN ORDER TO REACH THAT PLACE WHERE IS THE ENEMY SUIT? It's obnoxious, on that days it made sense, you would play all night, but now it's stupid going everywhere on the map punching walls and killing regenerating enemies looking for a clue.
@@pepsiman_14 How does it feel to be so wrong... to fail so hard at life... to never be taken seriously on internet again? HOW DOES IT FEEL?
@@kur1su74 Who tf are you?
Why do I feel nostalgic for an era in which I did not exist? I was born 9 years after this game came out, and played my first video game 15 years after this game came out. Yet I feel like I was alive in 1987.
Normal feeling bro I am just 23 years old now but when I play older games I feel something very different from most of the new games
The eerie epic atmosphere in Castlevania 4, Super Metroid
The horror feeling from Silent Hilland the tense feeling from Resident Evil 3 when being chased by nemesis
Xenogears with its grandiose plot and music and a lot of experiences I never had the chance to experience as a kid
And of course playing Metal gear Solid 1 for the first time hits different too
"Theme of Tara" is the Main Title of this game, in case anyone is unaware of this fact.
Thanks for sharing. Legendary game!
I just beat this and MG2: Solid Snake this week. It's old and antiquated but I still had that feeling of the games when I played the 3D ones which goes to show just how good these where to start this franchise we all know and mostly love.
Dude these are bangers holy fuck I need to give metal gear 1 and 2 another try and actually finish them
I actually think mg2 solid snake is the best one overall
Wtf this art is perfect
5:34 i love this part
I fucking knew this was the song that Whang! uses in his videos.
It's pretty good...
11:30 best part
I don't know how I remember this songs like it was yesterday, playing in the MSX nearly 20 years ago
I honestly think this soundtrack is rough around the edges, but they cooked with Escape
Glad this is in mgo3
First time I hear the MSX OST. I do prefer the intruder alert theme for NES better though. The base and jungle infiltration theme sounds better to me than Sneaking mission -- maybe it sounds too creepy for a military song, maybe it would work well if there was a jungle area to use it in. I'm just surprised they removed the Theme of Tara in the NES version. That's one of the most iconic tune of the series.
Yeah it's baffling that Theme of Tara was pulled in favor of that Mission Impossible sound-alike. I absolutely love the jungle infiltration music from the NES version, and it breaks my heart that game is so reviled by Kojima and thus never saw its stunning main theme carried on through the series. See also Snake's Revenge, a bad Metal Gear game, an okay action adventure game, and an AMAZING jungle theme.
@@sovrinn16 Although you could say that Snake's Revenge was a necessary evil, as it spurred the creation of MG 2 Solid Snake on MSX
0.55 to 1.55 best part, and of course the 11.21 "return of fox hounder" wich is superbly beautiful.
sure today's game music is more sophisticated, but by no means as good as these old 8 bit konami's, composition wise...the scc's game music is great as well metal gear 2, salamander, nemesis 2 & 3, space manbow...and so on...oh and from the same msx 2 era, the game music from Microcabin is also good, from the Xak series, "the tower of gazzel" to name one.
i love 0:02
0:15
3:35
メタルギア5のオンラインでいつもこのBGMにしてるw
There used to be a video which had ALL the songs, from all games, compilated. I can't manage to find it. Does anyone know what happened to it?
The Patriots probably
I remember growing up, I had few games, this was one of them. Used to start it in the morning and clear it in a day as I didn't know how the save game function works (it was for grown ups xD)
best part 9.30
and 11.21
theme of tara
Wait???? Whang what have you done???????
Missing Our Gray Fox
3:35 me after stealing a cop's donut, running in a cardboard box
It’s Lt. J.G. Pliskin!
Sneaking Mission is too fucking dope
composed by Kazuki Muraoka, I'm right?
Imagine pulling up to red light and some one is blasting this shit with 12s in the back.
Why Metal Gear NOT soundtrack vinyl, had Solid only
it is, I got it from mondo shop, it's a green vinyl too
I wonder if the original creator of this game, Hideo Kojima, will ever remaster this... but first he has to return to Konami for that to happen!!!
i prefer the MSX version cuz the NES port Sucks ASS
