    This set is great for 'figuring out' how PSA works: buying near-mint/mint raw sets is pretty affordable and training your eye to pick up card defects is a good exercise on these all-white cards... Corner dings and bends that have been corrected as well as edge chipping are both harder to see, so you have to really take your time and be ruthless: don't submit anything that has a defect that you can see... Random flecks of ink around white borders and very fine crease lines that run the length or width of the card are commonly missed... But the most important thing is to pick your card grader very carefully!😀 I know... can't do that, but nothing influences the grade like which person ends up judging your cards... Example: I sent in a 1990 MU Villain card a few months ago and it came back a PSA 6... That made no sense to me so I cracked it out of the slab, examined it and found it to be near perfect... resubmitted and it just came back a PSA 9... that should not happen... but it does...

      Thanks for the comment. You are exactly right that 1990 MU has given me alot of "training" especially during the start of 2021. Relative to alot of cards these days 1990 MU has alot basics to practice (as what you pointed out) and relatively easy to get the hang of it. Which is why its kinda weird that after filtering hundreds of cards and narrowing it down to the 20 or 30, I'm still getting PSA 6's and 7s lol.

    A lot of people are submitting and getting these back lately. PSA 9s are cheap. I'm a buyer of those 20-30$ psa 9 .Gem rate 26% of the set overall within psa. I almost think PSA is keeping quotas on these cards.

      I probably dont agree on the quotas but the PSA 9s are indeed cheap and its a great entry way for new marvel collectors in the future who wanna spend on a budget and put together a set.

    Great video but just strengthens my argument. that PSA is just not trustworthy In gradeing. just find it way to easy for them to slap A 9 On your card ... they have absolutely no checks and ladders in their system it is totally up to speculation of the individual grader... I will never use PSA to grade my cards unless they come up with a system that backs up their grading system... might I add it is not a very hard system to put together . but they don't want that system because then they are forced to grade appropriately to the card that is submitted. And if you think that they have no leeway of grading down then up, you are sorely mistaken. You don't think they know that people are submitting these cards because of the low pop Report... hence if they grade more tens equals in the long run less emissions. Which equals less money for them. they know people are getting a nine's back and resubmitting them with the so-called chance at getting a 10... this is in the conspiracy theory this is what is called a business model to maximize profits...

      $50 fee at this juncture might seem not worth while unless you're pretty spot on and confident on your skills to pick up 10s. 9s are pretty much breakeven or lose 20-30%.

    your way under valuing your cards mate - iv seen some of these go easily for 400-1500 USD each

      For Impel? Think recent prices has kinda fell off when everyone's submissions started to come back in.

    Why pay to get these cards graded they're worth fifty cents each raw, check comc

    • @TheCardBoss
      @TheCardBoss  2 роки тому

      Perhaps you are not considering the collectability of these cards in slabs as opposed of putting them in traditional binders. To some its about value, to others is about the aesthetics and that is completely subjective when it comes to collecting. That's why people are still paying $50-$500 for slab versions of a fifty cent card.

      @@TheCardBoss yeah well I dont care I had three slabs and I cracked them open and put them into soft sleeves to fit in with most of my collection in a bcw box, but you're the card boss, only in it for money

      @@TheCardBoss give me that Spider-Man card and I'll crack the slab open, insert it into a soft sleeve and slide it into a box because I only have the gem mint ten holographic version of that one, yeah I had it but a corner was dinged so I gave it to my nephew, only mint condition cards I keep
