I'll update this comment if Devs update something or mistakes in video
-In Phase 12 PTS: Devs improved Kenworth W990 stock tires, It's now equivilent to Pacific P512. They also improved it's balance, However they still didn't fixed the weird wide stance, I guess it's the intentional looks for trucks and scouts now.
- In same PTS JAT OMD tires also got buff now they should perform similar to UOD tires.
I hope it gets AWD at some point, i would love a smaller KW that is useful.
In my opinion i really hope we get studded ice tires at some point
they give mhs tires to tatarin instead of msh with new update
Kenworth is the best 👌 #snowrunner
JAT Pack was the best opportunity to add spiked wheels to Snowrunner but devs wasted this chance
studded tires?...yes they could've done that
The new Burlak 6x6 got studdet Tires
They really did
I mean for this tire pack DLC
@@SD1ONEmaybe they could still add them in? who knows what they are up to
I’v been waiting for your review of this dlc. It’s a really satisfying and nice video. Thank you always for the good videos! 🎉
Great video SD1ONE. Thanks for all the tests and info.
I don't like that devs have increased the distance between the wheels of some trucks, now they look out of proportion strange
I think it's a bug which they'll fix soon
Thanks SD1, i was waiting for this one from you :)
We all were! Hello aviano!
i really like how passionate you are about SR
Thanks for doing testing that is very helpful for me
Thanks, I like your SR videos! :)
Thanks for the video.
It helps to understand if DLC is worth buying
Honestly, I'm just amazed they actually added more rim options. I'm probably going to get that DLC just for the rims (better scout tires are a bonus). I've been wanting more choices for rims for AGES.
Kenworth seems eh. Probably won't get it, but this game has a way of making me buy the DLCs for it, even though I don't play the game anywhere near as much as I should.
yes, 90% of all my games i buy are fps shooters and for some reason this slow ass truck driving game keep make me buying dlcs for it xd
@@hoanghung5542 I do love the game, but my desire to play goes through mad swings. When I first started playing, I was straight up ADDICTED. Like if I played something else, I'd be not enjoying it a lot because I could be playing Snowrunner instead. Then I ended up taking a break from it for like 8 months. Then I got back into it HARD. Then I stopped for several months. And repeat. I've been on Amur for like 2 years now, and I've been playing it for less than half that time.
this is exactly me too bro@@hoanghung5542
i think we all play it the same way, dayum. i pretty much it like that too@@MultiPurposeReviewer
It was pretty cool to see scouts not using the Chevy rims specifically on Russia scouts
This is sort of the conclusion I came to as well. It seems like the scout tires are just flat out huge buffs and the super heavy mud tires as well since they are wider and the 3rd wheel set gives a solid bump to off road traction while on sacrificing .1 bud rating (2.0 dirt - 3.1 mud). It just seems like OHD1s are still the go to if the truck has them or for the taygas I still like the big balloon tires for stability and floaty ability. I love the new tires for the Kenny 963 but I sort of wish there were more for the regular muds like for the derry special. That thing is one of my favorite trucks but just so tippy sometimes. Kind of wish those special trucks had special tires that were flat out the best for it
@sd1one great review as always! I just noticed one small error at @5:37 you have the second tire listed as MSH II, when it is the MHS II, huge difference between those two tires as you know. :)
FINALLY some different tires 😍
Enjoyed this 🤠 👍
Was looking for your video on this yesterday. No wonder I couldn’t find it 😂
yeah, that testing and editing took a lot of time.
I'll probably give that Kenworth a go on the highway haulin pack . Good looking truck. I think snowrunner has about run its course. I could be wrong though.
Looks cool
We need more Twin Steers!!
1000% agree. We need a 4800TS! It's like the 5600, but a little shorter. OR, now that they're bringing in KW's, give us a C500 or C510! Little bit bigger cab n hood than the P512, 8x8 (twinsteer) and crazy powerful
☝ *"HOLD IT!"* ☝
How about a *[Dodge] Ram Trucks DLC pack,* consisting of the *1996 Dodge Ram 3500 SLT Laramie 4x4 5.9L Cummins 16-valve V8 Turbo Diesel dually* -- as a reference to the *1995 2500 8.0L Magnum V10 model* from the Warner Bros. movie *_Twister_** (1996)* -- and a newer *2022 Dodge Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 392 HEMI 4x4 Power Wagon?*
So, a few more words. All the heavy tires (ATHD, OHD, MHS, MSH) and scout tires are available from level 1 (which is a bug). I thought UOD II, OHS II and OHD I would be still the best, thanks for proving it. However, JAT OMD I is a good replacement for UOD I that I had on my highway trucks. MMDs are cool. OMS - I love the idea of making them a separate type of tire instead of UOD singles, like it was done on so many trucks. JAT MHS are a great addition for all those trucks that only had MHS I/DMHS. Finally, a boost after all these years! I kept them with OHS II so far...
The thing I hate the most about the new tires - they all look the same. It's easy to distinguish the UODs from old OHDs, however, the new OMS, OMD, OHS and OHD have the same thread pattern! what a nightmare! also MMDs and new MHS look the same.
Also tread pattern on some of these are like made up...I never seen such treads on real life trucks...Maybe they made these tires for their Expeditions game and decided to release as DLC to SR also
@@SD1ONE yeah, looks cyberpunk
Thanks
Brings this addon only looks or will be the performance of the tyres better too?
Any reason you didn't use the JAT MS II , OHD II, and OMD II during the testing?
Tartarin stock tires are coded obnoxiously high iirc. like, 8.0 for substancefriction, where as the other mud tire are 3-ish.
Great video and very helpful, the W990 is beautiful and very tempting, but lack of AWD is a huge handicap in this game.
II can understand if irl configuration is the reason for not adding AWD, but it sucks no having it, we end up with a mediocre truck.
Since they gave it custom tires, I wish those tires had same or better coding as Pacific P512 tires...In that case it would've worked as even 8x4
@@SD1ONEDo you know the values for the kenworth tires?
@@machadojoel10 should be in spreadsheet that I linked in description
Thankfully there's a modded version of this truck with all wheel drive now so it's more easy and convenient to drive
I find the W990 is okay. Nothing special, but not useless.
I haven't teried all the tires yet, but they seem good. Some are better than what we have, some (like the Tatarin) are better off with their own tires. I like the selection.
W990 is okay but not okay as paid truck IMO. Tire pack is nice...atleast we have some new designs to choose from...I was bored with same old stuff.
@@SD1ONE Definitely, for both points.
That said, I've gotten some fun combos by always switching colors, decorations and rims every time I switch trucks. With the new set, it should be even more fun.
I was kinda hoping for some dualies on the Bandit. I don't usually buy anything but the season passes but the tires and rims are a nice touch. Something new to play with. I'll pass on the W990. Good looking truck though.
Me too, I'm tired of always resorting to the balloon mudtyres for the Bandit.
@@Riccardo_Mori TBh, I only use ballon for balance as bandit is not very stable but yes...these new wheels would give freshness to old trucks.
Exactly.
@@Riccardo_MoriIt's quite good with the OMS now
Tbh the dually wheels are cool on the Actaeon
The tires with wider stance for Ken W990 I believe it's a bug. There are more trucks affected with this. Look at the inside of the wheel, the wheel seems not attached.
Yes, I think it is...It looks weird tbh, wheel hubs are out of tires.
Another bug is are no shadows during the Night in the Wheels.
Jack- tires
What I noticed.
GMC BRIGADIER 8000 didn't get JACK TIRES.
Tire tread:
HMD II +UHD II front and rear different profile
Mud and off-road
JAT MMD I+II+II
front and rear profile twisted
JAT OMD I+II+III
Rear double tyres Twisted profile
Another problem with the wrong direction of the tread is found in the wheels: MMD I (tread of only front wheels is directed in the opposite direction), MMD II and MMD III (rear ones are directed incorrectly). Plus the front wheels (JATS) of Pacific P16 are also hanging in the air.
yeah there're so many weird things with this update that need fixing
The wrong direction on the treads is an unnaceptable mistake coming from a developer with a history of truck and driving games.
@@Blestyr I agree, but practice shows otherwise. Did you know that in all GTA cars have two wheels on the right, with the tread pointing in the wrong direction? (This is done for optimization)
Our local offroad community is quite split on benefits of inverse tread mounting their tires on driven wheels. Some believe, that crawling deep mud or pulling on loose dirt (like on our farmers tractor pulling events) with reversed treads will give more grip and prevents sinking in on traction loss, where regular tread direction is optimized to carry dirt and water to the outsides, so reversing it it should keep the loose stuff under your tires ... The others think keeping loose dirt or floating mud under your tires may be even worse or at best makes no difference ... so maybe the devs just added that on purpose to give those who believe in reverse treads a better feeling :)
3:56 hey, that's me!
thanks for the spreadsheet... saved a lot of time and helped a lot in understanding game... although some things are still a mystery.. lol
Would you consider stock (both) zikz and the tatarin have the same tire type but only in different size for the tatarin ? Maybe this is what makes them the best
They behave similar but they're different...Tatarin tire has mud rating of 8 which is highest in game, second highest might be like 3.5ish, so you can see the difference....Zikz tires have mud rating of 3.4 but it is way wider than it appears in game code...so this mud rating is applied on all it's width and hence the performance.
yes, a bunch of the new tires have the tread facing the wrong direction.
When will they fix all the stance bugs?
I’m glad they added more tires but tbh they always should have been in the game. Paying extra for them is annoying. For me at least though I unfortunately accidentally deleted my save so I don’t play anymore. I hope the next game comes out eventually or gets announced sooner than later
Any news about season 12 ?
❤
ok so what are the best tires for tayga 6436 now?
0:16 non-AWD and dead axle, my hate things come together. But let's stay tuned, if add 6x6, since the dead axle has a decent clearance when lifted, it worth a try.
axle is not an issue as it an have bigger wheels lifting that axle further up
@@SD1ONE Yeah, now just wait for 8x6, if no 8x6 upgrade, no purchase.
Its a pretty good truck despite the rwd, even with stock wheels
can u say what map where u using for this
vid
Hey SD1ONE, do you think you could make a "Cosmetics that need updating" video, and potentially reach out to the devs to have them fixed in the future. Im currently working on a list of cosmetic errors after all these years.
well, hit me on discord and I'll look into your list.
@@SD1ONE thanks :)
@@SD1ONE I'm not sure were to message you directly, as the list is quite long and I do not feel like dumping it in any random rooms
Kenny looks shorter, does it have a tighter turn radius? Maybe its better for tighter areas?
lol.. it's no compact truck by any means... bigger than most 6x6s or 6x4s
@@SD1ONE I meant compared to the P512. Mind you looking back at the video, they weren't perfectly aligned so probably just not worth it.
Wish they would add some of those older 70s - mid 80s Kennys and Petes instead of the new ones. They are so much cooler.
I keep waiting for a Brockway. But I dont see them getting a license for a dead brand...
It a good edition now the sout look decent😊
and perform better too...I was bored with same old wheels.
@SD1ONE same bro I was looking fwd to your tyres test 😊🙌🏾 it true they could give the w990 awd , i have to re edit all the files of truck I love now dahm 🤣 even I was looking for the files where the jat tyres are but never find them
Hello brys2500!
@G4mingWithJJ hey buddy I saw your review on the tyres 😁😁😁
@@Bryan25105 nice I was just reading comments and seen yours say said hello!👋
Imo P512F is best non AWD truck
0:53
The tires having a wider stance is actually suspected to be a bug / glitch and not supposed to be as it is right now, but we will see what happens to it in the future
I hope they fix that. It looks so bad.
@@CourtneyLee62 i agree, on most trucks it just looks goofy af (it‘s not only for the new one, from what i saw on reddit this happened to almost every other truck)
Yup, there're very few trucks left that looks like the way they suppose to but most trucks has this weird wide stance now....They've to adjust it on each and every truck...I wish they give slightly wider stance to "tippy" vehicles like scout 800 to improve their stability.
I do hope the devs buff the W990. It needs it...least as a paid DLC. It does ok in Michigan, but gets out done by some of the fully upgraded Michigan trucks; time wise Lol
In comparing the W990 & P512, the 512 has two things the W990 don't; heavier weight (12.4-tons) and special coded tires. Possibly as well, at least in some appearance of tread print on terrain, the rear tires on P512 are wider.
There's little reason to buff DLC trucks beyond their original capabilities besides intent to make more money. Just because you can buy it seperately doesn't mean it has to be better than other stuff in the game.
The realism ship had sailed a long time ago, the way the terrain and missions are designed in this game... No realistic truck can survive or be of any use in this game... none of the in-game truck is realistic... If this was mudrunner or spintires then it would've made sense as those games were more grounded in terms of terrain
@@SD1ONE Absolutely true man. That's one of the reasons I'm so disappointed in the W990. There is absolutely no company making raised suspensions for the majority of the trucks in-game, especially NA trucks. Let alone such larger tires. But, there is a couple independent companies that do make, mostly custom, AWD drive trains. So yeah, it makes zero sense to release an 4x6 truck for "realism", but then give it a lift kit 🤣
I'm starting to wonder if Saber hates KW because the 963 is mostly mediocre as well.
@@Profitablius Bruh... They brought the Zikz 612H into via DLC, made it about equal to the 605r in performance BUT also gave it chained tires, which isn't realistic as the irl 605r handles terrain a bit better, ...but then recently they massively buffed its stock tires making it a fair bit better; making it arguably the best truck in the game. This game is far from realistic by really any means!
@@SD1ONE Even so, there's still no inherit reason that a paid DLC needs to be better than the trucks you get in the base game. If you don't want a truck that's not better, don't buy it.
W990 is so underpowered, really hope if dev make it a little stronger like Pacific P512 atleast
Power is not an issue...It's the tires and weight of truck that don't have enough grip...It need similar tire code as P512
The wider track is much nicer for rig stability.
At expense of authenticity though...wheel hubs are unrealistically out from the wheels for most trucks.
I dont like that wide stance tires idk if its a bug like you say😢
it has to be otherwise... we'll need a mod to restore the default looks... 😂
Snowrunner should add a +30 levels DLC
Yeah I was waiting for this review to decide on the Kenworth I think I’m going to wait and see if it gets buffed before I buy it. Doesn’t make sense to buy a truck this terrible.
Waiting would be better at this point.
for nintendo switch there is no tire dlc to buy. i dont know if the switch even gets the dlc.
I think devs said it would come later...not sure though.
Thank you for saying "Kenworth need tires or AWD to make sense" while everyone is trying to say RWD is just fine. Why do I pay for DLC that has mediocre truck, doesn't make sense! Make AWD a level-25 unlock that's my opinion!
Yes, the fact that it is paid truck changes thing....it's a hard sell as of now. They'll eventually give it something for sure.
I really liked some parts from the tire pack, but it feels a tad bit half assed. Like why already powerfull trucks get more powerfull tires? I want my Fleetstart to be powerfull again. And the whole thing could have been a free update, like sure, modelling of the tires needed, but modders could do that, and it's free even
Yes...for example UODII are used on trucks which can use some sort of buff and the fact that UODII are still best tires for those trucks makes no sense, There should be significantly better alternative to UODII tires.
Yeah, THAT would have been the 'fun' play, adding in a tire pack that makes the older trucks relevant again. Make me drag out my BM17 and 605R again, or my Paystar...
Did the loadstar get mudtires now??
no... only vehicles which get mudtires are those which already had mudtires
@@SD1ONE for a man Who only uses the loadstar, tatarin, DAN, 64131 & kolob flat front, does worth the expense???
Is there really a point to all thesetrucks with drop axles
Drop axle on this isn't so bad actually because unlike other drop axle trucks it can have raised kit and thus bigger wheels making the drop axle wheel smaller hence interfare less with terrain.
@@SD1ONE I think he was asking why the trucks like these have dead axles. As in whats the point of having a dead axle
I'm just here wondering why the developers have the tires mounted the wrong way? In real life, the lugs on the tires are meant to face downwards on driven wheels to allow the mud to escape outwards. With the lugs facing the wrong way you'd just be bunching up mud? Except, I guess, if you're meant to drive backwards all the time...
it's an oversight like everything else in this update... they'll fix all such bugs eventually but until then hold your money
In general the JAT OHD1 tires are better than OHD1. Because the w990 does not have all-wheel drive then it's not getting the benefit of the wider front tires of the JAT OHD1.
...Also the MMD 3 dual mud tires weren't tested. 🤔
They were in the end with ANK.
I tested OHD1 against JAT OHDs also but they seem a bit inferior...although it won't matter much in real game scenario as there's no significant difference...you can choose them bases of what looks best to you.
@@SD1ONE Interesting. I tested them too. The JAT OHD1s have slightly lower stats but are wider. The JAT OHD1s were a little slower but didn't get stuck when the regular OHD1s did. I tested multiple vehicles. But the Paystar 5600TS showed the most noticable difference. Moving at about the same speed with the JATs but in low gears with difflock it was actually a little faster with the JATs in addition to not getting stuck as easily.
Idk if it's just me, but I think devs do not care about the game like they used to. Correct me if I'm wrong.
6:38 amhs is just ridiculous
the JAT "DLC" should be free upgrade for everyone imo. 🤷🏻♂️
or atleast for year pas owners
@@SD1ONE even that but it will cost them nothing if it's free it would attract even more people to get the game
They could have made it an Anniversary DLC which was free.
The wider wheel stance isn’t a bug. If you look closely you can see each wheel has a spacer behind the rim. Spacers are used to make the wheel stance wider. Very common on off road vehicles and lifted trucks.
I think those are wheel hubs that are weirdly out of place because of unintentional wide stance
What's the point of adding these trucks if they don't have awd or diff locks makes no sense to me.
It has diff lock though....But if they make it's tires similar or better than Pacific P512 then it might not need AWD.
2:07 Ain´t that NF1430 the WS49X?
no, 49x is different, WS 47X NF1430 is one with dual drop axles
@@SD1ONE Ah!, sorry then haha, m bad
2:51 Those wheels look like they were put backwards
They're I mentioned them in bugs section as well.
@@SD1ONE sorry i wrote comment before i saw the Bugs section
i bought the tires DLC, but they are not showing up on any vehicle. Could be the mods? has anyone experienced something similar?
Lol..No they're real deal, You need to buy JAT tires pack DLC, It's a paid one just like Kenworth W990.
I know, i bought the Jack of all treads DLC on steam two days ago, but the tires aren't apearing in the game. @@SD1ONE
I had to fully close the game by selecting quit in the game options. Then the tires were available.
Mine was a bit more tricky.
For anyone that might have the same issue, here is what a i did:
- Deleted the Snowrunner folder from C: Users/User/Documents/My Games
- Verified the game's integrity on Steam
Mid truck, but cool new dlc
"Its main competitor is Pacific P512" Do you even call that a competition? Its P512 all day baby.
**Pacific P12[W] CAT 3408*
That's really annoying, when have a million tyre options but there's only 1 or 2 that are worth using and you can't tell without looking at spreadsheets.
I still don't understand why they bother with highway tires....that's like waste of resources that only a minority of people use and that too occationally
You seem to gone through whole a lot of mods for Mudrunner and Snowrunner. Tell me please, how to increase field of view in Mudrunner. Especially in the driver's view. It's way too narrow.
I never tried such mod TBH....there's a tool called spintiresmod.exe which can make you infinite zoom but I am not sure if it work inside cab view
@@SD1ONE thanks for feedback.
They should have added those long ago not 3 years into the game for new set of tires.
I think they're originally made for their new game Expeditions but then they decided to release them in SR too...that explains the delay I guess.
@SD1ONE any idea on when that game will be released or is it part of SR down the road .
@@Limitron-D I think they said 1st half of 2024, They also said that the improvements they would do in new game would also carrried over to SR and both games would get updates simultaniously....but Nobody know for sure.
the tire dlc should've been free
7:11 Don't you know bluetooth hubs are the new norm 🙃 lol
and btw *competitor not compititor
Dev forgot awd for new truck, it was iq issues
it's how it is IRL
They literally ruined the White Western Star and a few other trucks with the garbage wide wheelbase, these greedy devs can't even do DLC properly,i have the pack and i won't refund it but it's not good, other than a couple of trucks and mainly the Scout 800 there is no benefit having the pack.some vehicles that had only their default tires got a couple more options like Tatarin but the problem is the unique default tires are already better than anything else like for exemple the Hummer tires are the best in their class so the only benefit Hummer got was extra mud tires, the Tatarin tires are broken OP with a grip stat of 8.0 in mud if memory serves me right while the 2 other options added by the pack are like 3.5 or somewhere around those numbers so obviously the stock Tatarin tires are leagues above the pack options and so on PLUS there are no studded or chained options in the pack so we still are stuck with the vanilla ones and also the pack didn't give vehicles that previously only had the bad tire options like highway and allterrain the offroad nd mud tires option, those that had it got the tires but those that didn't got nothing.
Literally what this update did was ruin most of the trucks, slightly fix a couple of others like the 800 and add one of the most useless trucks in the game which ppl wouldn't use even if it was free cuz it not only is rear wheel drive only but it also has a dead axle which in this game is notorious for literally destroying the performance of the trucks that have it but bumping into stuff and getting stuck because of it. Overall idc about the truck,if ppl like it it's fine but what i mind is that they ruined other trucks with the tire modifications and i'm sure it's a bug not a feature but these idiotic devs won't admit it or fix it.
These DLCs specially the tires one is such a huge huge wasted opportunity and the greedy devs will capitalize on it by making another pack and literally not updating this existing one cuz fuck everyone who bought this one XD
