Thank you so much!! The second part of your video about pulling the door handle and lifting the lock saved me on this 37 degrees Celsius day in Melbourne!!!
Check your door latch to see if it’s working properly, the door actuator just unlocks the door lock so you can open the door. Unless your door isn’t unlocking for you when you unlock the door…
I’m wondering this same thing.. doors closed, the actuator is broke and the door won’t open from the inside or outside. The panel is on the door but again the doors closed. I wish someone would make a video explaining how to do this
@@No_Transitory pry the plastic door panel with a pry tool to pop the clips off, then pull back towards the passenger side really hard to pop the plastic panel off. I would do it but don’t own the car anymore
Thank you so much you won't believe how much I was struggling till I found this video I thought I would never be able to close my car again I'm 16 and it was jammed while I was trying to fix my window I thought I broke both my doors
How do you get the door panel off with the door closed I can't open the door to take the panel off So my question is with the door closed how do you get it opened how do you get to the panel
There's another UA-camr on the same subject who managed to get the door panel off with the door stuck shut. It didn't look easy. On this video I couldn't see what I was supposed to pull on to open the door but once I removed the white plastic cover it was easy (2005 Element). I suppose the plastic cover is to keep rain off? I'm going to take a chance and leave it off, at least for now.
Pop it off of the clips inside by using a plastic pry bar, then you pull back till it’s off and pull it towards the passenger side. It’ll be a tight space but it’s possible.
@@NutzAboutBolts No problem we think it’s the release pin inside getting stuck. Everytime we pulled the release pin it opened the latch. Just gonna order a replacement door latch.
I have a 2011 Honda Civic LX Coupe and both doors are stuck there is no door handles on it right at the moment or door panel. However, I don't see how to reach the cover that you explained, there isn't enough room can you help
@@NutzAboutBolts I barely see it, can send you a photo of what I see when I stick my phone around the hole. But there is no room to view it that I can see.
@@captainuknow sure, send me the photo, if you watch the door actuator removal video, you’ll see the parts that you need to pull on, the rod should be attached to it. But send over the picture and let me see
It’ll be tight but doable, just pry the panel to unclip it from the metal door, then pull up off the door top frame rail and back towards the passenger direction to remove the panel.
Pop the panel out, then pull back towards the passenger and you can remove the plastic panel. You’ll have to man handle the panel or else it won’t come out
Pry the plastic panel off with a plastic pry tool, make sure all the clips are detached from the metal door itself and then you’ll have to man handle the plastic panel by pulling it towards the back passenger seat. It’ll be a tug but you can pull the panel off.
@@NutzAboutBolts struggle is when you're in those situations, you need everything available to you, but everyone just says WD40 lol. Thanks for the video though
@@pattyc.4978 lol wd40 won’t open that door. You can use brute strength to pop the clips off of the plastic panel, and then pull it back hard towards the back to take off the panel, then you’ll have access to that mechanism to open the door

Thank you for your video. It helped me get my drivers side door unlocked when the latch was stuck. Very much appreciate you posting this.
THANK YOU SO MUCH you literally saved me I thought I would never be able to open this door again thank you 😭😭😭
This is backward. The real question is, how do you get in when locked, no key fob and battery is dead?

So was anything else done to remove the cover from the actuator? I removed a screw but it looks like some plastic clips holding it together too.

have to break panel off
What if the door panel's still on the door. How do you open now? I have that problem. Window's down, but the panel is still on the door
Only way to me is to pop the panel off or break it off.

Hey man so i did what u did everything worked but once i closed the door it happened again do you think i need a lock actuator ?
Check your door latch to see if it’s working properly, the door actuator just unlocks the door lock so you can open the door. Unless your door isn’t unlocking for you when you unlock the door…
Is it possible to remove internal door trim when the door is closed ?
Yes, but it’ll be a lot of tugging and plastic tabs breaking from the corner

Can it be done to a Honda 2016? My door is closed
So once I do this and close my door again will it get stuck closed again? Or once I do this my door should open freely
You should replace the door actuator if you have this issue.
Can you help me in case of the honda civic 8th gen? It looks different.

Hi could you please tell how to open the actuator cover to open the door manually
I believe it’s held by a screw
What generation accord? would this work on a 2000 accord?
It’s the 7th generation, 2006 accord. Not sure if it’ll work with 2000, but I assume it should be similar
How do you get the door panel off with the door closed I can't open the door to take the panel off So my question is with the door closed how do you get it opened how do you get to the panel
You might have to damage the plastic panel when popping and pulling it off of the door. I would do a video on it, but I don’t own the vehicle anymore.
Hey I tried this got everything off but taking those clips out on the top it’s so hard any tips on closing those tips

The plastic lining that is between the metal door and door panel? That’s to prevent dirt and dust from going into there.
