Hey Big Dog50001, I have Civic '08 Sedan w/ manual transmission, but it doesn't have the master lock button. Is there a way to enable the autolock feature without the need of such button? Thanks in advance.
Appreciate the essential information on these features. I live in a rough neighborhood and I wanted my car to stay lock even on park position and locks when shifted to drive for a very long time. The service guys from dealership and local shops will charge half hour work labor just to set them up for me. That’s why I had to be vigilant and lock doors after turning off engine . Now I had it set to stay lock and locks when shifted to drive . Thank you kindly!
I forgot the key inside the car, i get out of the car and closed the door for 2min. The car automatically locked itself. Now i am stuck at my work and its 11pm. I had to call my father to bring the other key to open the car. Once I got home, i followed your instructions and cancelled this automatic lock feature. Now I will no longer have this problem. Thank you sir.
Thank you! I hate when they unlock when in park. Very not safe to park a car and anyone can just jump in... stupid. Anyways, at 3:00 min in you are the only video showing how to disable the locks! Worked so well much safer
awesome, hope this works on my 2009 Accord, I hate it when it unlocks the doors just putting it in park. Sometimes I put it in park waiting in heavy traffic or long drive through lines or waiting to go into work. I don't like sitting in an unlocked car, very unsafe. Always so frustrating put the car in park boom, immediately have to re-lock the doors.. thank you for this video.
Thanks Big Dog! This worked on my 2008 CR-V. One of the locks was starting to stick and make a short buzzing noise whenever I stopped or creeped the vehicle. All good now!
i have 2010 honda civic but i don't have the lock - unlock switch I only have window control switches. any idea what I can do to get this features. please.
Does the reprogramming of the door locks on the driver side also affect the passenger door simultaneously or do I have to repeat the same steps on the passenger door individually?
If this part wears out what are signs please I am having a hard time with my car sometimes I can unlock with my key and sometimes not my 2 opposite door back seat and driver door wouldn't work not even unlocking it manually an then the next day it started working again I can no longer have my windows up because I can't wake up to being locked out because I have to take my son to school its ridiculous an the other day I went to take my mom to store and she had to sit in the back seat because of the problem it sucks
I tried this on my 2010 Civic but I think that I forgot to put the key in 1 position first before I pulled out the key and now when I try to unlock my door from the inside it sets off my alarm and key fob won’t turn it off. Do you know how to fix and reverse this issue please?
My civic 9 generation. Continue locking. During run and stop condition also... And stop condition complete battery drained ". Plz give me the solution.
good video, but can anything be done for the auto locking feature, if remote is used to unlock the door, after 30 second the doors will lock if the door is not opened during the 30 second.
Does this method disable to auto-lock that happens when you hit 9mph? Some construction set off my alarm the other day and it was going off for a while because I couldn't hear it going off, and since then the auto-locks keep trying to engage every time I accelerate even if it's already locked. I don't have the time right now to investigate it or get it fixed so I hope that disabling the auto-lock is a good short-term solution. Thanks!
Is it possible to simply remove the fuse that operates this lock/unlock function. (2008 CR V EX) There is an issue with the locks operating "outside" parameters so to speak....on their own.

My 2007 civic coupe, driver side window sometimes won't roll down unless I press the switch multiple times or hard. Works fine when closing it. Any ideas what it could be? Window switch?. Thanks in advance

Thanks good video! Can you help? I have a 2007 Honda pilot and the auto locks feature is disabled. I’m trying to enable but does not work. When I press the lock or unlock button it only closes the one time when pressed. I hope you can help thanks.
I don't think the Auto Lock/Unlock feature became available on Pilots until 2010 but you can try this below: To program the *Drive Lock* mode (Locks all doors and tailgate when the vehicle’s speed reaches about 9 mph) 1. Make sure the shift lever is in the Park (P) position. 2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, and make sure to close the driver’s door. 3. Push and hold the brake pedal, and move the shift lever out of the Park (P) position. 4. Push and hold the *front button* (forward button) of the master door lock switch on the driver’s door. You will hear a click. Keep holding the switch until you hear another click (after about 5 seconds). 5. Release the switch and, within 5 seconds, turn the ignition switch to the ACCESSORY (I) position. Move the shift lever to the Park (P) position. 6. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position.
Great video! I've been having an intermittent battery drain with my 07 civic and suspect it has something to do with the broken locks. Perhaps they're getting stuck and the car is continuing to force them thus killing the battery. Does this tutorial apply for the 30 second auto-lock feature? That is when you unlock your car from the outside it will lock itself automatically in 30 sec. Appreciate any help!
As far as the 30 second question, if you don't open a door within 30 seconds after hitting either lock or unlock from transmitter they will re-lock. This does not effect that (and I don't believe that can be disabled on most Hondas). Broken locks could be a possibility for draining the battery, but there is a good possibility it is something else. Thanks for the comment!
Big Dog50001 Automotive do you have any ideas what else could be draining the battery? It's a really weird intermittent issue and I'd be open to any and all suggestions. So far, I've replaced the battery and had the alternator and battery tested multiple times. The car has been dead after 3-4 days sitting multiple times now but each time I bring it in there is only a 0.1 drain on the battery. Thus, the battery drain is intermittent and only happens once and a while (have yet to catch it with a significant drain). 3/4 door locks are broken, ac does not work and I have aftermarket fog lights installed but can't find a culprit nor replicate the battery drain

I have honda civic 2007. My car backside left door locks on closing and it cannot open from inside. Everytime i open from outside. Is there any solution? Thanks
If you mean it doesn't open using the inside door handle, I would verify the child safety lock isn't engaged on that rear door. Also possible a door cable or plastic link is broken which would cause if to not open from inside. If it is the electric door lock actuator not working from the switches inside, then that would probably need some troubleshooting done.

There are two steps, one for locking and one for unlocking, see if the instructions below work for you. To turn OFF Auto Door *Locking* 1. Make sure the shift lever is in the Park (P) position (A/T vehicles). 2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, and open the driver's door. 3. Push and hold the *front* button (forward portion) of the master door lock switch on the driver's door until you hear a click (after about 5 seconds). 4. Release the switch, and within 20 seconds, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position. To turn OFF Auto Door *Unlocking* 1. Make sure the shift lever is in the Park (P) position (A/T vehicles). 2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, and open the driver's door. 3. Push and hold the *rear button* (rear portion) of the master door lock switch on the driver's door. You will hear a click, and after about 5 seconds, you will hear another click. 4. Release the switch, and within 20 seconds, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position.

Besides that, when I turn off the car it only unlocks the driver's door, and no one else can get out! It's so frustrating. I know this video is for a 2006 but I'll try it out anyway!
Dave interesting video. Does it just work on civics? I know my 07 Odyessey doesn't lock till approx 9MPH. Dave my wife's 99 3.0 accord I just had to resolder a couple of PGM FI solder joints. Do those two relays come as a complete assembly say two relays and circuit board. Kind of difficult to find the whole new assy. Any pointers? Hope everyone is well Artie ❤️
A 2007 Odyssey should be similar (I don't think you need to touch Parking Brake or stop key on Accessory Position though). Your 99 V6 Accord PGM-FI Main Relay should come as one assembly (even though it has 2 relays inside). It should be similar to this one bit.ly/2YrYo7U

I’ve reflowed solder had two bad joints but every morning with a fully charged battery it just crank over till I tap on it then it starts okay Till next day then tap it and it starts right up. Even cranks lousy till I tap on it and then it starts like the day it was new. Strong and smooth. Do you recommendILL a brand or go OEM. Just hard to go to dealer with all the limitations up here. Maybe amazon has an OEM from China 🇨🇳.LOL. I’ll keep searching stay well thanks for the reply Artie.
I'm gonna guess that to reverse these settings and go back to automatic lock/unlock, we would just do each of these steps again in turn? Nice video, thanks for making it.
Cant figure it out. My 06 Civic auto locks just by turning the key to the on position, and won't unlock unless you turn the car off. Gear selector position doesnt have any affect on the locks. I just want it disabled completely, or at least unlock when put in park
Is that an easy fix? I’m currently trying to see possible reasons why my key does lock my doors. Would I have to change the fuses out for it to work again?
@@belladea9053 What do you mean it won't start? Did they get the right battery? I got locked inside my Honda Civic and couldn't get out, I somehow breached the security system. Mt battery in my key fob was dead, so someone had to intervene from the outside. I have since replaced the battery. The dealer told me you have to be carful putting those in so you don't strip the lock.
Does anyone know a link for Stick shift cars? (8th gen Civic SI) I tried this and only works for the lock part, now the unlock side of it doesn't work, manual only has instructions for A/T

I don't think the Auto Lock/Unlock feature became available on Pilots until 2010 but you can try this below:
To program the *Drive Lock* mode (Locks all doors and tailgate when the vehicle’s speed reaches about 9 mph)

It should be similar to this one

Big Dog50001 Automotive I’m looking for a RZ-0158. Should I go with OEM. I’ve been looking and they range from say 30$ to 60+.Don’t want a used one I’ve already have one of those. Maybe amazon has an OEM from China
🇨🇳.LOL. I’ll keep searching stay well thanks for the reply Artie.
@@arthurfricchione8119 OEM only. I use Honda Parts Now for a lot of online dealer parts.
Big Dog50001 Automotive Dave didn’t see your link Thanks part ordered ❤️
How would I do this if I have the basic dx trim without the power lock on the door panel ?
if you have a DX and don't have power locks, then they wouldn't lock by them selves because there is no locking actuator inside the doors.
How do i enable auto lock/unlock back?
Thank you my CRV 2013 hads auto unlock when I put it in park I hate that☇ unsafe thank you for the tip it worked🇺🇸✌
Glad it helped, thanks for the comment!
How do I re enable the auto lock?
Thank you it worked on my 2010 CRV
👍
how do I go back to the normal setting so that when the car is turned off the lock opens
I'm gonna guess that to reverse these settings and go back to automatic lock/unlock, we would just do each of these steps again in turn?
Nice video, thanks for making it.
Did doing same things reverse it?
Great video! Helped me out a bunch!
Glad it helped!
Cant figure it out. My 06 Civic auto locks just by turning the key to the on position, and won't unlock unless you turn the car off. Gear selector position doesnt have any affect on the locks. I just want it disabled completely, or at least unlock when put in park
How can i do it for a manual transmition?
How can i turn on my honda civic door open with one button coz its stop working now?
I like the auto lock but my auto unlock Will not unlock until I shut the car off I wanted to unlock when I put it in park how do I do that
How can activate the locks? Again
Its a good feature in some aspects but will kill the actuator motors fast and they can get on your nerves
I would definitely rather control it myself on my own cars.
@@BigDog50001 i would ad well but don't have to worry about it all my vehicles are from 2005 to 1968
Is that an easy fix? I’m currently trying to see possible reasons why my key does lock my doors. Would I have to change the fuses out for it to work again?
Thanks man. The auto lock was getting annoying on my fg2
👍
Hey buddy great video thank you for sharing I'm glad I have no granny locks to worry about now! You're awesome
Thank you so much !!!!!!
You bet 👍!
Amazing.. it worked.. Thanku so much
How to turn it back on? Mine wont lock even after moving above 10mph
I'm not a fan of the unlocking going into park. nice tutorial
Me either, auto locking is one thing but personally I think the auto unlocking is a safety issue. Thanks for the input Jonathan!
How do get the alarm to go off?? No matter what I touched it goes off
Not sure what you have going on there, but many times if alarm keeps going off the door lock module needs to be reprogrammed.
@@BigDog50001 I feel silly for saying this but the fob didn’t have a battery in so we put one in now it won’t start
I was having the same problem with mine, you have to actually take out the key instead of only turning it to the first position.
You rock 😂
You know how to turn off the horn when locking and unlocking doors? 06 si
Thank you!
Bought a cash car and My passenger door no longer locks. Reading the comments I see how this feature probably gave out the lock. How do I fix this problem? I Need to fix this asap
How to reactivate them?
Great video sir....
I appreciate the comment, thanks!
I would love the auto-lock feature once is car is moving, but I wouldn't like the automatic unlock, very unsafe
👍
i have tried doing this several times and it doesn't work for me
Thanks.. thanks.. thanks..👍🇺🇾
👍
How to automatic lock sir.?
for some reason this doesn't work in my 2006 Civic
No auto lock is great if you do deliveries or load a lot of groceries for personal shopping.
