Deputy killed in Jurupa Valley identified; suspect had 'extensive' criminal record

- A deputy from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was shot and killed in Jurupa Valley Thursday afternoon. The suspected gunman was killed following a chase with law enforcement.
The deputy has been identified as 32-year-old Isaiah Cordero, who had been a motor deputy with the sheriff’s department since 2014.

I have no words for how broken the US justice system is. Compassion and forgiveness for career criminals is not only dangerous to citizens and law enforcement, but it can often times be deadly. The news media always like to show how cops beat up criminals who resist arrest, but they don't often show the times career criminals shoot back at cops during routine traffic stops or house calls. Absolutely disgusting.

All police departments are need to change policies when during traffic stops that ask the driver stepping out car and raise hands up before approaching the vehicle period.

Haven't we had enough? This deputy should be with his family celebrating the love and warmth of the holidays. And this criminal should have been behind bars for 25 years via the 3 strikes law. But some judge decided to let the guy walk. The political leadership, elected by the choice of the voters, has built a culture of progressive leniency and forgiveness for people who don't deserve it. This officer did deserve something: he deserved to go home to his family and not be betrayed.
