I live in the state that Joseph Smith was born, and I was raised Mormon. I have spent the last 30 years trying to gain sanity and dignity and remove the ridiculousness that the church pressed into me. I am glad you avoided this, although if I am understanding what you said - I have never heard of baptisms for new people being done at one of the temples, nor the locked doors. That is super weird, and it sounds as if something other than the Mormonism (as yucky as it is on its own) I grew up with was going on.
I'm in the UK. Reigate Temple and yes you are right, usually Baptisms are done in the ward!! At the time there were a few elders who didn't want me Baptised so I think it was a combination of being incognito and also rushing me out on Mission as they had a shortage that year. The teenagers at the church were all on Mission themselves and it wasn't their home church.
No tell them the real Biblical Gospel that you are saved by Grace, and not of works least any man should boast Eph. 2:8-9, after that then born-again believers show their faith by their works James 2:14-19.
Very interesting story, sounds like the Holy Spirit went alarm mode to you at that very moment for you to give them the hi-ball. I remembered they ask me If I wanted baptised all of a sudden, but some poor confused girl I once knew of was roped in by their kindness, and after baptising her they left her high and dry.

One of the most fascinating and intriguing stories I ever heard. Remind me to keep away from them!

And remember no praying to dead saints, or to the dead period, and also being under the catholic doctrine is also a false cult.
Amen. Wish i was shown that scripture by then.
@janycee2661 yes but Baptising the dead is far worse.
You and me both!
