District attorneys are overworked and courts are backlogged which is just one reason a DA will offer a plea deal and so many defendants take plea deals offered when guilty. Sometimes it is because the DA doesn't have time to try all the cases on their docket sometimes they're not 100% sure it'll get a conviction and it's just another notch to show voters their conviction rates when running for office. That is their job! You cannot blame them for fighting for his client. Anything less would make him a poor attorney. It doesn't work the way you appear to be thinking.
“…two of those cannot exist in the same space…”
Powerful and true.
I’m grateful the victim had this judge willing and able to do right by him and his family.
Wow, what a thorough, thoughtful, intelligent judge. Excellent job, sir.
I’m not thanking you for doing your job, you’re paid for that. Thank you for being a fair and educated man!
We need more judges like this gentleman. How people think lesser sentences or ignoring crimes all together helps anyone, is beyond me.
They’re called democrats. A judge in my state released over 100 pedos last month. He said they deserve a second chance.
We need more Judges like you.
Hello ❤ How Are You Doing?
The thought and careful consideration is impressive. If only all judges took their jobs this seriously.
Minneapolis needs multiple Judges just like this gentleman.
This is what a judge/elected official should be. Calm, non-emotional, decent, concise, fair and has a next level understanding of the facts of the case and everyone involved.
....he is nervous, it's in his voice.
@@Me-gc9kpno he isn't lol
@@Me-gc9kp. Do you choke up on your job when you yell out “Welcome to Walmart”?
@@Me-gc9kpNo he’s not nervous. I think he’s very restrained in his possible frustration at not being able to say what he would really like to say to the piece of rubbish in the dock.
I like this judge. Intelligent, thoughtful, and not afraid to apply the law (unlike many others). In this day and age this is what a great and unafraid man looks like.
I suspect he is unafraid because he has extensive pre-judicial experience, and has extensive experience on the bench of having given compassion in past cases. He knows balance, fairness, perspective, and that this case does not provide the elements and factors to warrant the same mitigation as others he has previously adjudicated.
Wow!
I didn’t know this kind of Judge even existed in America today.
Maybe there is still hope for the rule of law and the prevalence of justice.
Brilliant, well informed, and thoughtful Judge. Justice is served by the wisdom of such judges.
