    We used this template set yesterday, of course, we had excellent results.
    If you have a router and some maple you can do it!
    I recommended to the student using this that a full size drawing was a good idea to help him sort out the truss rod access. He did it perfectly.
    We started with excellence and finished with Coors

    I like the clean-ness and uniformity of your templates. Mine all look terrible, (either baltic birch or MDF) but still work, but would be nice to have some of these. Great job

    This is super cool!!! I was designing my own setup using CNC type rails and bearings, but I think that I'd rather use this......probably even save some money over the contraption that I was going to make, haha.

    Looks a great product, Steve. As I don’t own a router table this is perfect for me. Currently it’s $107 which is reasonable given the usage it would get - but the shipping is $84! I know that’s out of control, but it’s a shame nevertheless - it makes it unaffordable for me. :(

    I prefer all of my router templates be designed for use with guide bushings. It allows you to use any kind of router bit you prefer (upcut, downcut, straight knife, etc.) It's sort of like using a pin router, just on the opposite side of the workpiece.

  • @singtall

    can you make an access hole template for the headstock?

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  2 роки тому +1

      I can Ross...however, I showed a super easy way to it a few videos ago. There are many variables in truss rod access. With the template in this video...you can swap to a larger bit...move the stop blocks...then you are ready for the rout through style of truss rod access like many guitars use.
      If there is something specific you are after...email me through my website...and we can discuss any request you might have. Thanks for the comment.

    Where do I buy carbon fiber 48 “ long , need for neck thru body support.

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  2 роки тому +1

      I buy them from Dragon Plate. They are 48" long...the square tube version. Although...I really think that you still only need the support in the actual neck portion of the guitar.

    I was told that the Truss Rod Channel needed to be Arched and not cut Straight. What is your take on that?? I am going to attempt a Neck build and attempting to learn all I can before starting. Thanks, Russell

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  2 роки тому +1

      You are referring to how single action truss rods are installed. I use and prefer double action truss rods….which use a flat channel.

      @maximumguitarworks  Рік тому

      I drill about 3/16” deep in the neck…and about .100” in the bottom of the fretboard. The fretboard for sure needs to be a flat bottom bit to prevent having a point penetrate the top of the fretboard after you radius.

    Your attention to detail is off the scale. Can these be purchased in the uk without crippling import duty and shipping costs?

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Tim. I'm not sure what your import duty is...but shipping is not horrible. I have shipped many to the UK. A 1 lb box was like $40...and a 10 lb shipment was like $80. Maybe be high for just one template...add a few things...maybe some knobs...it is a better rate.
