I’ve never played D&D, and just stared at my phone, mouth open at how vividly I see your world you are creating. This is phenomenal to watch. I am now a subscriber.
I loved Relics and Rarities, so I am very much looking forward to this. A strong first episode that has introduced us to all the characters and teased us with a little intrigue and a hint that something strange is going on that drew these individuals together onto this train. Roll on episode 2.

Hopefully this story continues. I love watching Deb as a DM. I had the luxory of sitting in on one of her campaigns she hosted and was the best DND game I've played in.

DAW's game style on bothe sides of the table is fantastic. I was so happy to see her play at DnD live in 2019 a must see
This whole episode was so relaxing, chill and delightful. I love trains and fairy tales so really looking forward to watching this series play out. :) Also really enjoyed Adam’s character intro - Really creative.

Wonderful episode! Great production and setting and the roleplaying was ‘chef’s kiss’. Watched this on my 1st day as a full time game designer so won’t forget in a hurry ☺️
36:04 just finished the PC intros on my first watch through having discovered this series only yesterday.
As a consummate nerd and aspiring rules lawyer I wanted to have a guess at the player classes (assuming of course that they are using official 5e classes).
So my guesses so far are:
Silas is a bard
Fairuza is a Paladin
Mave is a Barbarian
Neb is an Artificer
And Robin is a Druid
I look forward to seeing how close I am later as we find out more.
So many intriguing characters. I'm just enamored with it all. Just heard about this show & I just began watching Heroes of the Vale (I'm just getting in to ttrpg shows so I'm catching up.) And recognised a few familiar faces so I had to check it out. Excited to see how this plays out.

We do Shadowrun, 7th Sea, Star Trek Adventures, Star Wars Sherlock, Alien, Tales from the Loop, L5R. Basically anything except D&D. BUT I really liked Relics and Rarities it was clever and just needed some space to breath. Which unfortunately they didn't get. Will check this out for Deborah as she was great in R&R
Totally taken in. It seems only Neb knows you should always carry a towel - wherever you go in the "Galaxy" ;) Like others, I wish they were actually playing in the same location, but still very engaging. Looking forward to see how these characters learn to work together. Excellent!

Just came across this through an interview she had with Rosenbaum. I enjoyed watching her in Relics and Rituals. I'm not much of a fan watching others play ttrpg but I'll keep this on my watch list.

I was looking forward to this so much, and it didn't disappoint! I can't help but think it would be just that much better if it were face-to-face around a table instead of over Skype, but such is the world we live in 🤷♂
I never thought I could be so suspicious of someone so soon, but WTF is up with Silas? Advantage on persuasion checks, but not just normal persuasion, something more like hypnosis? I'd say it's Suggestion if it weren't for the actual persuasion check he rolled... something is up with him, something is very up with him, and I'm intrigued. Especially the way his collecting seems to be more like a compulsion than a hobby; he collects not only action figures and comics, but also towels and mints? And why did he pickpocket Gloria's watch just to look at it for 3 seconds before returning it?
So many questions! 😅 Good thing we have many more sessions to answer them in, I hope!
my best guess at this point is bard with friendship cantrip maybe? his "assistance" on the lockpicking sounded like it gave a d6 on top of the d4 that neb's guidance seemed to which i'm guessing is bardic inspiration.
@@DavidChong That seems likely. It's a little weird to me that persuading her to go rest literally made her tired, but maybe that's just Deborah's interpretation of it.
Even for a bard, though.... I think we can all agree Silas is weird AF and something's going on with him 😂
@@IceMetalPunk yeah pretty clear he is a bard and cast Friends. It becomes more clear in episode 2. Unfortunately in episode 2 he becomes very much a spotlight hog. Hopefully it was a one time thing, because if not, it will quickly kill the show IMHO.
Face to face would be tricky for us, since we are across three states and have some high-risk folks in the cast who may not be able to safely game in person right now, but it would be a joy to get everyone into the same place for some in-person games in the future!
Pretty hard to stay out of the spotlight with what was happening to the character in that episode, but every character will spend plenty of time in the spotlight throughout the series.
Just like in a television show, some characters will be featured more prominently in specific episodes, but this is an ensemble and everyone will have plenty of great moments.
As a tall person myself, gangly is one of my favourite ways to be described

Haven't seen it yet, but I came across "Why We Build The Wall" in a Dark Folk/ Americana music compilation a few years back and fell in love with it immediately. Anaïs sings one heck of a story. ;^)
I hesitate to post this since people hate someone coming in and being a dark cloud...but not playing it in person? I'd wager there would be more views that way. I loved the idea and the concept. Good luck to you.

I just started watching this series. Is this what every episode is? D&D via video chat? This is not what I wanted to see at all. I will finish watching this first episode and then decide if I want to continue to watch this.

A little cringey at the end with Silas seeming to want to "mansplain" but fortunately he didn't AND it worked out well. (Note: Im very much saying it was Silas and not Adam) that was wanting to mansplain.
unfortunate you saw it like that..to me it seemed very much in line with his character wanting to be in control of a situation and only trusting himself to do things. This seemed like him actually stepping back a tiny bit, the fact that he described it the way he did was perfect..no 'mansplaining' vibe to me

Effectively, yes. Using the Demiplane video platform, we stream these episodes to Twitch and then bring them over to UA-cam for folks to watch and enjoy on their own time!
