Just checked it out to see Brian and Matt play together. Brian Posehn has his own podcast called Brian Posehs's Nerd Poker. It's definitely a different vibe and the first season is a bit hard to listen to but there is ahuge back catalog.
Whoever does the sfx needs to chill the hell out. It's hard to mesh with the tone Mercer's setting when he gives the grave mission to the heroes when there's random raptor noises and screaming on a loop for too long.
Great story work. Like how the DM is able to draw your attention into the story and the actions of the adventurers. The people who are playing the adventurers are well adept at working with the character that they have chosen to be
Alright... Karen from Daredevil PLAYS D&D??? I am speechless. I am slo writeless. I have no words to explain adequately the joy in knowing this. Just... oh my god.
@@Mister_Mag00 More of he's just really bonded with Arkhan, I mean that's a character who's been through a lot with Joe, I don't blame him for wanting to play his favorite and sentimental oc.
Now this is an adventure, the people are great and Matt nailed it with another awesome DM lead keep up the great story and videos, I thought I was really there with force grey in the their quest lol
Wait for the end.. I run ToA - and my opinion is, this could have been the point where Arkhan turned really bad. Or, and that would be a huge plot twist: At the end of this campaign, might see that there is only one possibility to stop Acererak.. @@YungHomeslice Or was it? No seriously the eye and the hand appears too be destroyed and then reappear in Vecna's vaults unless someone kills a wielder of the hand and eye with the sword of Kas.
Of all celebs I've heard that played D&D, I NEVER (in a million years) would've imagined that Dylan from Suite Life was among them. I wonder if Brenda Song, Ashley Tisdale or his brother, Cole are players as well? If yes, they could have a Suite Life in the Dungeon sort of scenario going on
I remember reading [don't quote me on this, don't remember the source (probably Reddit)] that he plays alot and has his own games but doesn't like talking at all about Suite Life either altogether or just while playing D&D. So if that's true, he might not be into that specific D&D scenario. But that could've been false info I read, who knows?
Its very obvious Matt does such a wonderful job of preparing. And his vocalized sound effects are amazing. I used to walk around the house practicing voice overs and I bet he does the same thing. Drove the spouse batty! 😂😂😅😅
Man Im Really liking this DM. Sound Effects and everything. I've never played before, but I'm going to play for the first time tomorrow. I'm pretty excited. This guy really is amazing.
@@TragGaming "A few VA works" does not makes justice, and even if it's true than he is a celebrity im DnD, many more like me know him before that because of is works in game like Resident Evil 4, Overwatch, etc.

Hi, I'm here in 2023, but so I can share with a friend. This video is actually what led me to critical role. I was like "who is that DM he's so good" searched for what else he was in and found critical role. Crazy times.
Just goes to show how much the players of critical role contribute to Matt's excellence. Good players are as important if not more important as a good DM. Not that these guys aren't goos but they are leagues apart. Mercer has to narrate a hell of a lot as they are too quiet.
Back when Penny was still single she would watch the Superbowls with her friends, and Leonard and Sheldon would be hosting D&D sessions... I picture Joe Manganiello sitting in stairwell, shouting encouragements towards both appartments, eating cheetos in his Steelers garb.
My friends have decided, after 30 years of gaming, that I should run a game. This is what they have chosen for me to run. Wheeee. This is good research!
Hmm. This is published on the D&D channel? I expected a little better sound quality, folks. The background sounds and music sometimes push over the actors' voices, and the compression of the mix can't hide the bursts of static after every vocal cadence from each of the actors, especially the dynamic voice of the DM. This story is fantastic and super entertaining, but with a proper production crew, there has to be a better sound balance.
@XakashinaX Hey kid, I appreciate that you didn't understand any of what they said and that makes you feel stupid so you lash out. I just want you to know it's okay. You are stupid.
Music and ambient sounds shouldn't drown out the DM... it should be background stuff that subconsciously helps set the mood. It's a crime to drown out Matt Mercer's DM'ing

This is probably the best lighting I've ever seen in content that wasn't produced for TV.
Matt Mercer out there DMing absolutely everything.
