Exploring And Searching The Samsquanch Gold Claim : Arizona
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 вер 2024
- Today I strike out and explore the Samsquanch gold claim in Arizona. After a good night's sleep, I begin by climbing the nearby hills and hiking out in a long sweep crossing the river before turning back toward camp. Along the way, I find many interesting things to include wildlife and some very interesting rocks and paths. It turned out to be an all-day hike and I had just enough time when I returned back to camp to get a good, refreshing soak in the river.
About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my UA-cam "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
BTW, you can also catch me here, / chiggsarmy ,but I may get a little edgier there. FB isn't a place for kids anyway...lol.

Thanks for watching…. The Chigg
Tell you what, Beau, this is one amazing adventure you've been taking us on. I got a little misty eyed during this one. This scenery reminded me of landscapes familiar to me during my early childhood when my grandparents & parents were still living. The latter were oh so young, vibrant, full of life & mirth back then! And yet; So unlike the people my children came to know in their last years...
I've lived so much of my life since then here on the dark clay soil of the Red River Valley in Minnesota with nary a mountain or stone to behold. Naught but flat farmland as far as the eye can see; Marred only by the occasional windbreak of trees round old farmhouses & along the many silted rivers or creeks that drain into the muddy Red. How I've longed to see these craggy, cracked, stones in all their glory towering above me once more with these old eyes!
Nostalgia? Regret? Sentimentality? I don't believe there's a word for the feeling I'm experiencing. Perhaps this is what it feels like when one reaches the age when they've outlived their life & haven't the means to truly live much beyond? Remarkable how such beautiful scenery can evoke such strong emotions. Simply magnificent. Thank you once again for sharing this adventure with us.
Is it Samsquanch, or Samsquinch? 😉
Stunning again. I am inspired to get out and do some videos of my local area here in County Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
@@athelwulfgalland; I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. You've described my feelings and emotions to a "T". Perhaps my feelings come about because of loneliness. I lost my father on 19 November 2021, the same day I learned I had COVID and then, on 2 December, I lost my sister 18 months older than I. I really don't know how to describe my feelings but, one thing I do know, all I have to do is watch one of Beau's excellent videos and I begin to feel better.
I love the SoCal and Arizona Deserts. Walked many a mile out there because, there was always something interesting to see. Now at 76 years old, I doubt I'll ever get to visit those beautiful places again.
May God Bless you.
@@harrisonmantooth3647 Thank you for your kind words. The emotions are really difficult to explain with words. I'm not certain if it's the result of an inadequacy in the language or in my own understanding of emotion added to a lack of vocabulary.
Perhaps it is loneliness? I'm certainly not alone, I've two young adults still under my care as well as my dear wife of 25 years. Though it's often said that a person doesn't need to be alone to feel lonely.
The imagery in this particular video touched upon the memories of my early life though when there were far more people that were dear to me still in this world. Unlike yourself, and how I envy you for it, I wasn't permitted the chance to explore such wondrous landscapes.
I could only see them from the window of the family car, in the distance from my grandparent's home or some tourist trap with carefully fenced areas with wide leveled paths with my hand firmly held at all times. Lord knows I would have bolted!
Many a tale was told to me by my father about his own adventures in the SoCal desert & Sierra Nevadas. Indian burial sites, relics of bygone eras, rich fossil beds embedded in sandstone hundreds of feet up mountainsides & derelict abandoned buildings without another soul for miles. Just think to yourself of how that would spark the imagination of a five or six year old?
I clearly remember being told; "When you're older, when you're older." Alas no matter how old I've gotten it's never been enough to make it come to pass. My footsteps will never carry me to trek upon the same adventures he related to me those many years ago.
One by one my grandparents were lost from the mid-90s to the mid-00s. Then on the morning of September 12th, 2013 I found my mother stiff & cold to the touch on her living room sofa. For all the world she looked as though she were still simply sleeping if not for those attributes.
My father lingered for six long, dreadful, years without hope or ambition left in him; A husk of the man I grew up to admire. All along he wished to be back at my mother's side; To the extent of asking for a handgun on several occasions to expedite the matter. He passed December 21st of 2019.
I was at his side less than eight hours before he breathed his last. By then he'd been robbed of the use of his legs, his left arm, much of his eyesight, most cognitive reasoning & dignity. He had a litany of health conditions which he struggled with for better than twenty years before my mother even massed.
Your wounds are far fresher than those I've nursed over these years. No doubt you're still reeling from the effects of COVID & yet having to see off two loved ones in such short order at the same time. You're a far stronger man than I for if so much misfortune came over me in such short order I'm not sure how I would manage.
The Hills have eyes.... cool video..thanx4sharing.
Chigg that's one beautiful place, surprisingly no birds attract to the water. Thanks again for "bringing" us viewers along on this adventure. Be safe bud 😉 🤙
What a beautiful place, cactus drive me crazy, I love them. 😻
I wouldn’t have the language to describe how beautiful the day and landscape are. Thank you.
Nice TPB reference 👍 those of us up north salute you
You and Jeff are my favorites! Love your running commentary...
Definitely one of my favorites made me so happy to see you with Jeff the other week. You deserve way more recognition
Chigg thanks for the adventure, you rock,Cheers!
A sat phone might be an asset. I rented one for a few weeks while in Death Valley. Ended up not needing it for myself but made a rescue call for a guy on a broke down motorcycle.
There sure is something to exploring, taking you to sights you'd otherwise never have seen. The world is a haven of treasures for the eyes to behold and we get to see some of them 🏕through Beau's eyes. Thanks my friend for bringing these hidden Utopia's into our homes.
Eloquently said, my friend.
Always something to learn. Don't think I will ever get caught up with your vast library. Thanks, Beau.
Thanks friend..have a sweet ride to old age..no one gets out alive..enjoy..and love the prospect of something better..?..
letttttttts gooooooooo. So happy Jeff is going to help you come out of your shell!
Love your adventures Mr.Chigg, always so enjoyable and beautiful !
Fairly new subscriber, and watching all your old vids, just amazing the treasures you've come across, but what impresses me the most is the respect you have for everything, not to mention all of your knowledge.
You are one stand up individual sir.
Keep on hiking friend !!
I love it Beau. You and Jeff are doing a vid together. Just the kind of great news I needed today. I actually left a comment in one of his videos telling him to get in touch with you (and the same in one of yours). I think the two of you will have a grand ol' time! You both are amazing teachers and presenters. Can't wait...
White fine rock looks like Chalecedony that is not stained by an other impurities. I am at 5.55, so interesting to hear what the Geo says they are! All the best Chigg.
Glad your here Beau. And thanks for the window to the world from your perspective!
My pleasure!

Chigger and Jeff the dream team 😀 love both of them I miss Jeff’s dad RIP.
Come on! Lets Go!
That's a very neat frog 🐸 he was well camouflaged.
I had no idea he was a meme lord as well, “it’s not even Wednesday”
Merry Christmas!
And to you as well.
Thanks chigg, for the 🚶♂️ hike and geology , lesson! Yes! That is a beautiful river! Can not imagine how deep , that water gets during flash floods!Monsoons! Kept my eyes open for dessert squatch...did not see any! But, if that is the only water source, you can bet! Lol! Thanks for your video! I will take the heat ,over snow any day!😀👍
The silence, is golden!
it is a beautiful place if i was there i be taking pictures and collecting rocks i love rocks and arrow heads
That’s sure a pretty spot! Thanks for the videos!
I enjoy watching your videos and the places you goto . The places when you do go I enjoy that the artifacts are undisturbed and you respect that that's awesome .
Can you use a satellite phone? Your wife must get worried for you? Be careful out there. Thank you for showing me things I've always wanted to see. Camping in the desert is on my bucket list. Just an old lady and my dog.
I wish I am here with you When I have some great rocks I've found there down in what you call Valley and what you've got Valley rocks with gold and silver anthem unbelievable you would love it down there too found a very unusual rock stay safe 🤶🎅❄🙏👍☃️merry Christmas
Thanks for the entertainment. Good stuff.
That white stone is petrified wood...commonly used for knapping in that area too.
Really enjoying these videos Chig.
Nice looking country, great adventure very peaceful and relaxing. Thanks.
I grew up in an area just like that. Thanks for taking us on the walk about.👍
Thank you very much for sharing your adventures.
Beautiful country! Enjoyed the hike so much. Can't wait for the next adventure 👍
In Arizona, you must avoid slow moving or stagnant waters... amoebas... horrible death. Best to only use water from fast moving streams. And speaking of ants... folks told me in Arizona it is worth looking around those very large ant hills/home... you'll often find things of value there.
G .& C. , this dude has the coolest videos!
Jeff is one heck of a guy, look forward to seeing your video Jeff's was a lot of fun 😎👍
And no cow ants do not make good pets,
They are actually a flightless wasp with one of the most painful stings on the planet 😬😬😬
@@LarryTaint-qn8pd 🤣😂🤣
Thanks for sharing your adventure with as 👍
Thanks for taking us along on another hike thru the beautiful SW.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@aquachigger I always enjoy going on a trip to the SW with you.
Beau @8:11 When you're talking about the bulls, the rocks at your feet look like they have a letter M carved in them & above the M and to the right of it looks like a fish carving.
It just hit me, you were talking about the donkeys when you say burro. I kept thinking, what the hells a burrow? 🤦 nice job man, stay safe
Thank god I read the comments. I genuinely thought he was on about the holes in the ground an animal lives in!😁
@@frenchfort51 I only realized it when he said "the cows and the burros"....I'm not used to hearing it without an accent. Also, I could be wrong about it
He went straight to that English speaker pronunciation... it's better to say donkey or ass than burro, it's a difficult word for many English speakers.
Hi.
Well you just might come across Jeff Williams in that part of the country.
Merry Christmas 🎄 from fellow UA-camr Famo59 From Australia 🇦🇺.
Cheers 🍻🎄👍⛏🤓
I have been a subscriber to Jeff’s channel for many years, thats how I found your
channel recently. I really enjoy your channel. Looking forward to seeing Jeff
here.
Very beautiful place but nothing beats a cold adult beverage after a day of exploring. 😊
I found a few small nuggets along the road going in there when I was there 9 years ago
Time to go back Carl. You feel lucky?
Jeff is AWESOME!
Where you dropped off the hill in the Chigg Rigg your first day there , there is a quartz vein that goes from the creek all the way up to the top of the little hill there at camp but I am sure The Chigg spotted it! I had never been to Az and was very dehydrated the first 3 days so next time I will prepare better! My vid for the family wasn’t as good as yours! Thanks!
Man i always love coming along your adventures thanks for bringing us bud
YES ITS A VERY NICE VIEW 👍 BUT WATCH OUT FOR THE WILD LIFE 😜 CHEERS BIG MAN .
Awsome camp spot thanks for showing Annie and I that place! Great times, we'll definitely go back to that spot.
Absolutely beautiful!
You walked right past a anchient stream deposit! On way down to stream. That would have been a place to check and the spot with the river rocks. Iif you find lead in river then the gold could be near. Lots of sampling and time. I love those hikes
The Gods Must Be Crazy. I almost always get your talk! I will cut short because I have commented thrice , now and my new Moto cell is glitching out . Humongousanoid fan. Chigg , you are my favorite UA-camr!
Hi Chigg! It's still nice country around the stream area and a bit rough in spots. Wild areas are fun places go explore. especially where there's limited "Recent" human activity. (and those that have been there cleaned up after themselves.)Anyhow...... Stay safe and well!! Have a good day!
Hey Beau, thanks for bringing me along! I would have had that metal detector on constantly, especially around that white quartz. Still it was a great adventure! Very, very beautiful. Those giant blue striped boulders were spectactular! Your friend and fan. Kevin
Beautiful! I know you have a lot of artifacts but you broke my heart when you threw down the first or second piece! Lol can’t wait for the next video! Take care! Be safe!!
You Jeff Samsquinch & slim are going to get some gold.
Have you tried the benches above the creek. I have good luck with my detector finding gold nuggets. So you are finding nothing yet.?? Persistent is the key as you know. Thanks for the outing……
I’m really enjoying your adventure out West. I need to get off my butt and spend some time in a warmer climate and leave these cold temperatures behind. I bought myself a metal detector earlier this year and it has hardly made its way out of the box. Looking forward to the next one, thanks.
Beautiful
I'm so jelly! What a nice spot to detect and relax at. 😌
You must have been such a cool kid, especially if you’re this cool now!!!
Loving these videos!
Incredible landscape for a futur retired snowbird of the desert!
Beautiful spot Chigg. Thanks for bringing us along. The velvet ants can indeed inflict a nasty sting. Some have stingers at least a half an inch long and they can manipulate it side to side considerably.
Chigg says wish you guys were here, could you imagine the million strong Chigg army behind you on your trip!=Epic!
Aqua higher rocks 👍
I meant Chigger, lol
Awesome little video…
I watch Both you & Jeff...it will be like a superhero crossover for me
The whitish rocks look kinda like chert. Commonly worked in the Mississippi River valley as a alternative to flint. Just a thought. Dad was an avid flintknapper.
You are living my dream chig! I’ve done a lot of exploring here in West Texas but nothing compared to your adventures. I’ll just live vicariously through your videos for now.
I love your AZ content. Find the ww2 plane in the Rincolns chigg.
Those Velvet Ants are also known as "Cow Killers" its a type of wingless wasp and their stings do NOT feel good!
you must have the best wife on earth! luv your videos!
Great video. Keep an eye out for flakes.
Chigg be careful rock Rattle snakes love those crevices! I come to AZ every year snake hunting and can tell you they blend in very good.
"Wish I was there with you, too Chigg."😊
Alright!!! Arizona yeee!!!!
I think Velvet Ants are male Tarantula Hawk wasps. They're pretty mellow usually. Hurt like hell if you get stung though.
I admire how well you read the land. That’s an acquired skill that takes a lot of time to earn. And I do mean earn.
Paradise!
so beautiful....Hope you had a nice dip in creek
Can have some pretty bad reactions to metals sometimes.. so really nice to just watch u do this through the safety of my screen. 😂😂😂
That tarantula hawk will ruin your day.... 🤣😂🤣
Looks like my old stomping ground’s Mohave county up in the hills by bullhead city /secret pass /oatman
🌵bad cactus 😊👍
I see lots of Coyote tracks in the ground and sand there be careful! and all of those still waters, could make you sick! That beautiful white stone you found at 5:09 is white opal beautiful place to rock hound! Living in the desert in the past I hated climbing and walking over shatter stone, too easy to slip and fall and those Ocotillo plants and beaver tail cacti ouch! I thought I saw too raw howlite but there is tons of that white opal around you, I would of taken that one at 5:09.
Great Education Bud 😊
I saw what looks like a quartz stringer in those big rocks. Did you see any.??? Thanks for the outing……
13:56 those are called Cowkillers it is a wingless wasp ! And yes they hurt like HELL !!!!! 😕
Super cool video
Enjoyed it mare. Thanks. Want to know- have you given up the search for Mr Veach fir good now ?
I wish you could bottle that solitude and send me some.
nice rocks dude !!
So… come on, let’s go !
Merry Xmas to you and family
Can’t wait to see your version of the Jeff Williams collaboration his was great I’m sure yours will be as well bummer on no gold hopefully that changes on the next try thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏻👊🏻 P.S. hard to tell in the video but that might be chalcedony it didn’t look like milky or bull quartz but it could have been
it's already out! check out Jeff's page
@@Invalid.Argument I saw Jeff’s long ago I’m waiting to see beau’s
@@Invalid.Argument It was a fun video - a real bromance appeared before our eyes. It will be interesting to see how Chigg edits his own video.
Sunny boy lol Jeff is cool
