NASCAR Heat 5 Pocono Truck Setup and tutorial 54.9 lap time

- This is my Pocono truck setup for NASCAR Heat 5. I was able to run a 54.9 second lap with it. It's really stable and easy to drive and I even give a few tips on getting around the track!

I know I’m a couple years late to the party, but I just wanna say I seriously appreciate your set ups. Your videos are literally the only ones that I use, and give me all the info I need in 7 or 8 minutes. Thank you.

Could not agree more! I am 45 with a family these days, I can't invest the sort of time I could in my 20s to testing setups and memorizing points on the track. These videos are super helpful and compact but he gets all the info in that is needed lol even with his dogs messing with him!
Pocono is one of few speedways that I struggle with, most every speedway in the game I can easily take the pole and lead every lap for the win using just the slider for setup, Pocono however I was struggling for top 5s. Your setup and lap explanation just landed my first Pocono win trucks in this game. Thank you for your method!!
I have to say, as someone who just began playing this game cause it's free on ps+, having watched a few videos of other tracks already, and know I will be watching all of them... THANK YOU for taking your personal time to do this and put it out for people. really appreciate it
Idk if these guys are running it on rookie but this is garbage. Goes straight to wall every exit corner, it's slow as hell or your set ups are loose as all get out. Ridiculous you charge a subscription for this. Wow. Talk about a major scam.

The only thing I would change is the grill tape to a 55%. I was noticing that I was constantly have to watch oil temp when it was at 65%. now the car run at 204 degrees is stead of 223 to 227. Especially going into one when you would down shift. I ran a 54.803 in only like 20 laps.

Dude your setups are the best. Kneepit is always 3 tenths of a second slower than yours
Funny, I've never had an issue with really any of Kneepit's setups. Occasionally, I have to make a few minor adjustments but other than that they work.
Same set up, same cornering, but I can’t get lower than 57.8. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong at this point

uhhhhhh that was not a good mix...
I need help with a long run setup. Once the right rear is 4 off the the right front's rate. The truck gets super loose out of the turns.
Try going down on the right rear tire pressure, down on the right rear spring, or down on the right track bar. It may take some combination of those adjustments to correct the problem. I’d start with the the track bar because that should only effect corner exit and shouldn’t mess up the handling on corner entry or mid-corner. You can also try going down on the right front rebound.

Can’t get a good time at all on this track!
I’m like 2 secs off the goal time. Turn one is horrible. Truck doesn’t stick to the ground when I’m turning. Just drifts to the right at the wall. I lose so much time as I have to keep braking to keep it on the corner…
Yeah, I hate turn 1. Here's a tip that one of my friends gave me, maybe it will help. On entry, there are orange cones in the catch fence. There 3 cones, then 2, then 1. Watch for those cones and lift when you get to the last cone. Then, stay off the throttle for a really long time. When you're going through the corner, look at the billboards. There's a NASCAR one, a Sunoco one, a chevrolet one, then a green traffic light. Stay off the throttle all the way until you get to the green traffic light. It seems like you're off the throttle forever, but it really helps keep the truck at the bottom through the whole corner.

I’m gonna get on and tryout Gateway in Heat 5 and will let you know. Give me a few hours. At some tracks, such as turn 2 at Pocono, the points are a little different.
I ran some laps in Test Session mode and it seems like things are pretty close. I didn't have a setup that was completely dialed-in, so with a little better setup, things could change somewhat. The big difference that I noticed was that I had to brake a little bit earlier going into turn 1. That may be a difference in how the game plays or could be that my setup isn't dialed in yet, but that was the only real difference that I noticed.

Thanks! I try to not compare myself to the other guys doing setups, but I started doing videos because I didn't like most of the setups that I was finding on UA-cam. Most of them were either hard to drive, burned off the tires too quick, or got really loose after a few laps. I found it frustrating that I couldn't find good, fast setups that lasted, and I figured that if that's what I was looking for, then other people probably were as well.
Knee Pit makes some pretty good setups, he does tend to sacrifice speed for stability but his setups for the most part are a good base to start with then you can make changes to more suit your driving style. I've realized that The Set-up Man has a very different driving style than mine. Some of his setups work for me but some do not. They tend to get very loose after a few laps so I end up making changes to get more consistency.

lol, better driver than you? My best laps are consistently, at least, 1 second off yours. If I am within one second of you i consider it a win. I am thinking it is because i am using controller. But, more likely, even if I had the best driving wheel setup on the planet, it would take me quite some time to even match your times....let alone beat you.

Yeah my truck is very slow, I think it's because he runs a manual and gears it for manual. I run automatic, he usually has a gear setup for automatic too in the comments but I can't find one
Can't even read your setups it's too faded and blury as hell like zoom in some would help alot or at least tell us the numbers to each category.

The only way you're holding 160mph in turn 2 is with assists on, I ran this exact setup with no assists on and can maybe hold between 150-155mph and that's pushing it. Also, it doesn't look like you have a braking zone at all so it looks like the assists are really carrying this setup.
I run no assists. Sorry that you're not hitting the same speed, but just because you aren't hitting the same doesn't mean that assists are the reason.
@@theset-upman3500 I'm calling BS on that, comparing how your lap is to how that setup drives with no assists is completely different. You can not hold 160mph without assists on, so 🤷♂️
I DO NOT USE ASSISTS. Just because you cannot do it, doesn't mean someone else can't. Assists make the vehicle easier to control, but slower, and lap times are slower with assists, not faster. Here's a video to help you understand. ua-cam.com/video/wxwR3jaB_ds/v-deo.html
@@theset-upman3500 you're not very transparent at and you're a jackass about it too. Could have simply explained how you are driving 160mph through turn two. It doesn't make much sense that I use the same exact setup and if I try to keep anywhere close to that speed it plows right into the wall. I have to slow down significantly just to make turn two it's that tight. So I don't know, if you don't use assists then great, you don't use them but in this video it looks like you are with how stable your truck is and how unstable that setup is.
You accused me of running assists, simply because I was running faster through the corners, I think you're the one being a jerk. In this video, I showed my setup, provided a detailed tutorial on each corner, showing the line, lifting/braking points, etc. I did a separate video to show that I'm running no assists, and what my tire wear and grip settings are at, using the same track, me setup, etc. and showed that I don't use assists, and how my lap times differ when assists are used. I don't know how I could be any more transparent.
Way too tight for turn 2
Thg he downshifting I guess could be a good idea but it eliminates the ability to turn. So where I'm at is, it's impossible to make turn 1 with downshifting. Turn 2 is extremely tight and turn 3 is okay. I will say the tape does absolutely nothing in these game either.

Unusable. Way to loose in turn 1 way to tight in turn 2 and way to tight in turn 3.
If u hit the apron in t2 its a guaranteed spin. If u try to take it without the apron u die because of the wall on the exit. If u slow down even more u get from 1st to last in just the 2nd turn.

So I seriously just want the setup. I search for images and all I can get is videos. Can you just post pics online of the setups instead of this nonsense. I’m trying to play a game not watch tutorials. Not shading you in particular, just really annoying searching for set ups and instead of a quick simple image I can copy, it’s all irrelevant setups and pics of a truck with no set up.
Start the video … find the spot with setup numbers … 8:20 … then take a screenshot … and stop whining if you think this is nonsense … self-entitled baby.
Bro your dead azz wrong for that. He takes the time to show you points of emphasis on letting off gas etc etc and has helped me win my first race in Chicago Land last race. This is just a very tough track for one and all you have to do is skip forward and pause it ...f simple bro
