It’s something to do with the shedding instinct.. ingrown hairs can cause a lot of damage to the skin. Like splinters sometimes.. a waste free pore is a happy pore 😂
Man I dig these out of my thighs all the time. Especially around my knees! I bought those blackhead removal tweezers and they work wonders! The point can puncture the skin and the round, back part squeezes the contents out easily. Also grabs hairs with ease.

Pulled out a very long & curled ingrown hair on my jaw the other & the (big) bump it was causing immediately went away in a few hours. The irritation also almost immediately subsided.

I think because the puss was around the root like a pool of jelly, so there might have been extra puss around the hair.
