- salvete amici!
I recently got the incredible opportunity to visit Athens for the first time under a college Classics travel fund, alongside my fellow coursemates/dear friends, and it was simply amazing. There's nothing quite like going on holiday to visit ancient sites and museums with friends who are just as enthralled with them as you are... as for the sites themselves, they were simply jaw-dropping (especially the Acropolis), and I hope the vlog was at least able to convey some of their beauty. If you ever get the chance to go to Athens, I would highly recommend it-fantastic weather (especially during springtime), delicious food and a very affordable city brimming with history and art await you. If that sounds appealing don't worry- there's plenty more Athens content to come...stay tuned!

As per Jacks comment, welcome back and thanks for the update. I’ve never visited Athens before but I would like to one day. I was working at Episkopi in Cyprus in 2020 and stumbled across some amazing ruins that looked similar, a theatre, many villas/palaces, a horse/chariot racing circuit and a temple similar to Athens (but much smaller). It was fascinating to think of the people who lived there thousands of years ago.
Cyprus has such fascinating history and heritage I'd love to visit some day!
I love howvyou spreed positively intellectual energy in your videos ❤ but i feel obligated to ask - will we see pt II of the vlog? 😭
Hi Sabrina - have recently started learning Latin and I love it. I think the nicest part at the moment is making those connections with the etymology of English words and seeing their origins. Only recently discovered your channels but it’s very enjoyable and inspiring!
Thank you so much for watching! Good luck on your future classical language learning!
The herodion is open to the pivlic actually
First of all: welcome back!
I discovered your channel several months ago and I love your work. I’m delighted to see you return.
Athens is an essential destination for any classicist. Much of the city bears the scars of the tragedies of Greek history, but there’s an immense amount of beauty. I’m glad that you enjoyed!
I’d also recommend Istanbul, it’s a dream.
Yeah seconded, I was blown away by Istanbul and how gorgeous it is.
Wow I better place Istanbul on my Classics travel bucket list!
@@sabrinatheclassicist Honestly: it’s one of the greatest cities in the world.
@@sabrinatheclassicist Do go! It's wonderful, I had semi-high expectations but it blew me away. Go with friends though - it's tied with Naples and Sicily for bad sexual harassment, in my experience.
😍
Hey... You look beautiful.. Hardly saw annyone like you. 😍
