This is my favorite build of yours, by far! Correcting the “overbite” from the router was as good as anyone could do, and I can’t agree with you more about sound vs looks. If looks were so important, people wouldn’t be paying thousands of dollars for Custom Shop relic’d guitars, and I wouldn’t be so ugly. 😂

Or if there’s a certain input jack shape out there like maybe a 90 degree type that has a side on face of guitar and other side on the width.. or wondered if a standard Strat type input jack would have mounted there and covered the flaw.. really not sure hadn’t actually looked this cray cray thought up to see I’m out of my mind. N know that wouldn’t have helped at that moment.
Thanks for the “wear your scars” monologue! I have plenty of scars and Christ has helped me to be a better man. I find myself almost always wishing that my scars could be completely removed, but the way you said that resonated with me and I am even more grateful for the healing Christ has given me! I am left with the reminder that I should never do that again! Peace!
The springs are there to prevent you from over torquing the screws and damaging the pickup threads. Surgical tubing, while rigid, will crack and warp with enough force.

To me I love the tool marks and the chunk replaced. They make the guitar special. Someone could get the same body, the same finish, same everything but those things make that guitar stand out from the rest (besides the fact that no one else has a guitar like this.) I love it.

The God of the Bible? If that is the case, it's perfectly fine to have a high regard for science, but scripture has the final say. Any science that conflicts with scripture must be rejected as untruthful.

I work in paint R&D, I keep 60 mils syringes for small mixes, color, 2K primers. The graduations are about +/-2% if you get no bubbles. An easy tip you can probably sell with a link. If your weren’t cheap, you can take a color to a Sherwin Williams Intermix plant and they match to a specific wood. Of course 50 bucks a quart and they are very strong stains so that quart will last years. Maybe for a favorite color. I like what you did for the idea of a kit build, cheap is good.
Been following your channel for a while now and never comment on You Tube but had to on this one. You are a genuine all around great guy and I now have a greater respect for you after watching you testimony. I had a similar mistake when building your 1 x 12 bee box. Router chipped out and as a result mine will have to be an open back now. Lost interest in finishing as a result but you have given me inspiration to finish it this weekend. Thanks again for sharing the great content especially the low cost projects that turn out amazing.
The whole deal with the tool marks and other deals just shows it’s truly a one of a kind and adds value , I’d never guessed they charge more for them scars, look at the road worn guitars etc 😂

The sustainer sounds great! On old single coils they used surgical tubing instead of springs, this might be the same stuff.

If your weren’t cheap, you can take a color to a Sherwin Williams Intermix plant and they match to a specific wood. Of course 50 bucks a quart and they are very strong stains so that quart will last years. Maybe for a favorite color. I like what you did for the idea of a kit build, cheap is good.

Been following your channel for a while now and never comment on You Tube but had to on this one. You are a genuine all around great guy and I now have a greater respect for you after watching you testimony. I had a similar mistake when building your 1 x 12 bee box. Router chipped out and as a result mine will have to be an open back now. Lost interest in finishing as a result but you have given me inspiration to finish it this weekend. Thanks again for sharing the great content especially the low cost projects that turn out amazing.

The whole deal with the tool marks and other deals just shows it’s truly a one of a kind and adds value , I’d never guessed they charge more for them scars, look at the road worn guitars etc 😂

Love this message at the end Dan. We are not perfect. Instead, God has made us perfectly in His image (flaws, scars, and all). Too often I find myself worrying what people think about me. We should all wear our scars proudly. That is the good stuff that makes us who we are. Keep being you brother- it really helps us to see someone who has flaws just like us.
