Seeing him trying to see the screen under bright sunlight at 2:12 tells me that's a good candidate for an e-ink display rather than LED.
Reminds me of my Pebble Time. And then customers complain, we need something shiny and vibrant.
This is how our cyborg future starts y’all 😎
With Ascend, the user is always in control!
That would be great. Getting older & have weak knees.....joint pain.
@People of Dundee Society why?
@@melsmobileservices it's a joke because you're not going to be mobile anymore because you have joint pain that means you can't move so you're not mobile you know what I mean?
@@Alphabet7 oh, not a funny joke but now i get it,,,,,,,,ha ha ha.
Thank you! Our goal is to help people live a more mobile life.
@@RoamRobotics any idea when it's coming to Canada
Bright Ray of hope for those with knee problems, waiting for it to become easily accessible to the common man!
Tbh this stuff is the future. Imagine this in 10 years, especially when combined with something like neuralink for paraplegics.
The neuralink is a scam Go watch the common Skeptics video on it
Neuralink is bull. Maybe by the 2100's we'll have something like it.
Reply all those who are commenting that Neuralink is a scam, you need to understand that when some one fund some thing like Neura Link you are financing the dream, the idea. You are investing to make if a reality. But many times many things fail to become reality or it becomes reality after some time. Neuralink is still in its early stage for you to call it a scam.
@@RedLoveShow would you say the same thing about the hyperloop or the boring company or SpaceX just go watch the video by The Common Sense skeptic you'll find it interesting neuralink is a scam
@@RedLoveShow
Look, the dream of being able to control our computers and devices with our thoughts is not the same as Neuralink. Neuralink is promising that dream but it is a scam to steal your money. You don't have to give up that dream to realize when someone is scamming you.
Hyperloop is also a scam. It's never going to happen.
Elon promising to make a colony on Mars is also a scam. It's not going to happen in our lifetimes. We can barely establish colonies in the harshest regions on Earth. Mars is a thousand times harsher. Musk is a con-man not a genius.
Goodbye knee pain, welcome back pain😀
Then you’ll need a back assist when you throw out your back carrying the battery around.
Absolutely
😂😂😂
Man that looked so heavy
Advanced marketing.
Cause the problem you solve.
LOL 😂
I am curious how this tech will evolve in 5 to 10 years.
The main drawbacks I see:
cost
duration
that backpack
Main drawback is making the supporting muscles weaker, which will make knee pain increase without this device.
Agreed, I could see this being adjusted to help amputees and future military applications.
Size and look of the tech as well. I don't think looking like a cyborg is the future lol
@@mistamaog Respectually we disagree, a supportive device like this can give a patient more mobility, more exercise, and more health with less stress on the knee joint, overtime strengthening the leg.
@@mistamaog This is a false misconception. You are incorrect.
The artwork on those stairs though.... 5:41
I suffered from knee pain severely before and so I understand n appreciate this device. Still remember I couldn’t walk downstairs and a kind couples helped me to open the gate.
/watch?v=_Jgm-GuLelc try to aid your body in repairing itself by strengthening it. no disrespect, it's just that this marketing makes me sick. not fixing the root cause. disgusting.
I'm a bit older and experience knee pain after sitting for any extended period of time. This would be great to help get up and get started before the pain works out!
Great product and an interesting new sector that is rapidly growing.
Amazing tech. Will be great for those that are not knee replacement candidates.
Thank you doctor!
Something to improve on: sunlight readability
I think it would be better to go to the root source of what's causing the pain. Using something like this that takes the load off is just going to make the supporting muscles weaker and make your knees even weaker. More likely to have pain.
But for those with serious injuries, I can see this being useful, especially for rehab
Looks like a 90's nintendo accessories.
Power glove, meet power knee
Reminds me when Batman Bale used that kind of thing in Dark Knight Rises
I have a comment for the cameraman. As myself a basketball player twice tore my ACL and twice got my ACL Reconstruction surgery, knee pain and swelling was two to three time weekly occurrence. Only at 29 I got my knee PRP Injection from Regenexx. And my God after two months of physiotherapy I am back to jogging and excercising without any pain or swelling. But I stopped all contact sports from my second injury. But this robotics is good for Senior citizens and I see mysef using it for hiking.
That screen where no one can read in the sun and struggle to operate with hand half covering it
Smart pack 😂
The fact that I'd have to press a button on a remote to sit down is a little weird. But I understand this device is still under development, so it'll probably get better and some day it'll become a really great product.
It's been 2 years and still nothing like it on the market. My grandparents are now confined to their house by arthritis. 700$ is a reasonable price to help them get out again.
That's a great idea, but will there be a version that supports both legs?
Nope, right legs only. 😆
I need this so badly.
Now This Is Kinda Cool! ❄️
? Why the snowflake?
Elysium the beginning lol
That's EXPENSIVE yo! And the size of that backpack. you will get back pain if you don't have it already. Lets see the final production unit when it comes out. Many more iterations before it becomes common place. Good start.
Well its either this or walking sticks.
Actually, previous robotic exoskeleton systems were in the 5 digit range, like more than 3x this amount, so it is amazing that in 2021/22 they can make it a little more affordable.. there's no telling when technology will be able to get robotic exoskeletons cheaper.. maybe in the next 10-20 years
thanx for review Lexy
Wish they had something like this for back pain...
Wow!! Technology never ceases to amaze me.
Hopefully you dont have a bad back as well, by the size of that "smart pack".
Soon 3d printed home versions will be out. Some clever clogs out there can replicate it for cheap.
I'm saving this 📹 video
Times when I love living in SF. Most of the tech innovations you want to buy are made within a 40 mile radius of here. Ordered a level lock, said 7-10 day shipping, and It came in 2 days cause it's a bay area company. Keep the tech rolling bay area!
Exactly what Giannis needs right now 🤣
Need one for both leg.
Brilliant
the sound with every step! lol
We are getting closer to exosceletons from video games
Maybe the CEO squinting & trying to provide some shade to use the controller is a good indication it needs a better daylight-ready screen.
I wonder if a modified version of this can be used by Connor Mcgregor while his leg is healing.
ACL repairs don’t just come loose, it’s likely that he either stopped weight training, and lost stability due to atrophying muscles, or he had a torn meniscus and the repaired part retore.
This will also be useful for old people.
Yes
Hi , please can this work on someone with one paralyzed short leg?
Give me two of those with added weapon holsters and then I shall be ready for my Mars living.
Bravo and it s just a step in developing process about this device
Its such a shame the body doesn't have its own suit of muscles to support the knee
point taken, however if you do PT you know there are limits to what muscles can do when people have a long history of osteoarthritis and other joints than the originally affected are already showing signs of OA too because of longterm compensation. If you said this was a useless tool then you would also have to argue that artificial joints are a scam and I would believe, at least in a certain number of cases, knee and hip replacements absolutely make sense and can give people a new quality of life.
You realize that this is for people who NEED the support, right???
@@TheDeathmail You do realize that most people suffer from joint problems because they don't keep proper muscle strength, right??? Creations like this simply help people cope with life-long unhealthiness.
@@kendrick5909 some of us suffer joint pain as a result of things like 35 year fire careers coupled with more than a few room collapses dumping us down a story, or two.
think before you say.
Some people with joint pain are ex Firemans, nurses, military,...
My son just had knee surgery and could use this!!!
Welcome Sam Porter Bridges
@Roam Robotics
How would I be able to acquire one of these? Would my medical insurance through TriCare Prime be able to take care of it?
if they could figure out how to sit without a chair in a pair of these, they could come in handy for amusement parks like disney world or big events like ces or comic con where you are constantly standing in a long line, standing or walking great distances.
"This robot is to ease your knee pain,
You also have to wear this backpack with "BATTERIES" to give you back pain..
And do not worry, we also have a robot to ease back pain, sold separately, and the battery pack is located in the clutch bag intended for your left arm..."
46% reduction in knee pain.
Wear it for 6 months and you'll also get one leg 46% thinner than the other.
when i think about exoskel, i imagine a person runs at a speed of 70 km like edge of tomorrow
Yeah I’d rather get the surgery haha, it needs to be at least 3-4 times smaller
I’m sure the issue with having to wear a bulky pack (diminishing the leg assist benefits) will be resolved within the next decade. As I understand many leg pain issues are actually rooted in back issues. Don’t need a back pack exacerbating that.
Muscles will get weaker and weaker after few days so that you can’t walk without it.
Please make it available now, I need it for any price!
If that unfortunate day comes when my parents have a hard time walking, I want to be able to get this for them.
$7000 isn't that bad. Let's hope that the project succeeds.
You kidding? 7000 usd literally makes it inaccessible to everyone except for people in 1st world countries even for them it is huge investment.
This project can never succeed without bringing the cost down significantly.
@@PiyushRaj-fv2yl Nope, I'm not kidding. A product like this is specialized. So it will be expensive, as it cannot be mass-produced (like, say, a wheelchair). If you watch this video carefully, you will find that to function properly, this product will have to be customized according to the customer's needs. That is because everyone on this planet has a different body, posture, and attitude. Because of this tailored-to-fit nature, these products are expensive and will remain expensive.
Just look at those prosthetic legs, arms. A prosthetic leg of moderate quality will cost you around $5000 and upwards. And even at this price, they will last around 3 to 5 years. Then you have to replace them, either entirely, or at least some parts of it.
I know about these products very well as I research them a lot. My mother is suffering from osteoarthritis for decades. I hope that someday I can give something like this machine and see her smile again. An actuator-based and portable system like this product made me feel positive about that hope.
That's for one brace.. For both legs that's $14000 and the product is not mature yet.
I like to see a LITE version of this, mainly for elder or weaker person. Just a little bit assist.
Why the bag is need ?
Me who've had ACL reconstruction / replacement. Yeah, it do be like that. =/
Could do with something like this for hip pain
As someone who has very weak bones and muscles, these exo-skeletons could be a huge help for me.
They will further weaken your bones and muscles.
Most knee issues are caused by lack of exercise. Using this will only weaken your bones and muscles even further.
that thing probably costs like 500k

Nice content! ^^
I want to invent one for sciatic pain
You should try it with one on each knee!
hi will it help prople with partial paralysis, where can I buy it in canada
Nice and all until it gets hacked and your knee starts getting crazy
HOW CAN I BUY THIS PRODUCT
Is this better for becker muscular dystrophy patients
Samsung is making something like this. They presented it 2 or 3 years ago
Becoming Superman is getting closer and closer xD
I think people rather have surgery than wearing all that gear just to go out.
You have to change the mode have just to sit?
Where can I get one from
If you get ACL surgery choose cadaver and not patella tendon method !
Must needed for back pain as well.
Awesome..!
They are addressing a real problem in the society. Spot on! I know this is still a prototype, but if it becomes affordable for common man and improve its function. This is going to be a huge revolution in the history of Health and a great start for Human-Robot relationship.
Great but one should be careful because not using your muscles will also make the problem worse
Where should I get more details about the product ?
Host is 🔥
anyone know these type of item prefer for Becker muscular dystrophy patient because there is no medical treatment for that 😢
Arms and shoulders
how mush for it and can i ship it
Looking for such product
Hey, isn't this the one Bruce Wayne had on in TDKR?
Wouldn't some springs or air pistons that you could dial in the strength do the exact same thing? They've made this thing needlessly complicated and requiring a large battery pack probably so they could convince people that it cost a lot more than it really does. All I see here is profit motive.
How much and how could I avail of it..
Put a portable solar panel
Can we wear it in both legs.
Cost. N india is it available???
Mad Max
How , i can made this product?
Only one? Give me two.
Will this help people stand up, and sit down?
2:08 so this is for your knee right?
I'm in my 40s, I could use 2 of these. I wish they were more compact, able to wear UNDER clothes. No one wants to feel like a target.
