I have had my server up and running, but the daylength settings are stuck at 120 minutes and 19 hours of daylight. No sliders in debug window, and no changes to the serverconfig.xml file will change it. Any ideas?
That is strange I've never had this issue, I'd make a backup on the config.xml store it in another location. So there shouldn't be a serverconfig.xml inside the main folder then do a app_update validate to make sure no other files or anything are corrupted.

I got it sorted, though when going too high on the day length value, it sent me back to day 1 lol. Setting it back to 60 minutes brought it back to the right day. Gotta be careful with this I guess.

You should be able to use, just have to locate the 2 save locations and swamp them out, as long as they where both Multiplayer worlds and the same game version.

Check server visibility settings: Ensure that the "Visibility" setting in the server's configuration files is set to "Public." If it is set to "LAN" or "Private," the server may not show up in the public server list. I’m having some trouble and I’ve tried everything. I am unable to connect to my own server but I I can connect to other people servers and they can connect to my. I am the only one that can’t connect to my own server so I know it’s a problem on my end I just don’t know what I’ve tried everything from firewall to uninstalling and reinstalling the game restarting the server triple checking port forwarding I’m lost.
Couple things, do you have any mods installed locally that aren't on the server? Another big one would be your firewall/antivirus could be preventing you from joining it.
@@luciandev the mod pack is the same. And it’s small set to go through the firewall on both ends. It seems weird that I can connect to other servers, but not my own, and my friend can connect to my own server with no issues.
i created my own server but whenever i edit the admin file that everyone shows on youtube and insert my steam 17 digit number and save it. Then load up the server it resets that file and when i open it again its back to the default steam number and my chages are gone! So no matter what i do i cant get myself as an admin on my dedicated server please help their must be something im doing wrong!
Nevermind, I had it correct but didn’t plug my laptop back into the Ethernet. So make sure you are forwarding correctly based on your internet connection type

@@douglasdixon8027 v1.0 isn't actually released yet if you want to run a server using the experimental version of the 1.0 release during the steamCMD setup use the following: app_update 294420 -beta latest_experimental nothing else has changed this video will still get you the 1.0 release using the command.
In the main directory of the server just add a folder called "Mods" and put w/e mods you want in there. Just be mindful if they aren't server only mods all players will also need to download those mods.

That number is from SteamDB every game is assigned an ID and you can search SteamDB to find those ID's they are alost on Steam themselves you just have to look for them. As far as adding mods it's pretty easy and straight forward. You'll need to create a "Mods" folder within the main server directory and then copy and paste all the mods you want in the server into that folder you create created.

Hey! Been working on trying to get this to work with a mod Undead Legacy. I've got my vanilla server up and running and read your other comment about creating a new folder named mods and the server should update with the mod. This hasn't worked and I've been trouble shooting for the past few days. Kinda stuck on how to get this to work, any tips?
Sadly, the mod & server don't update together. So if the server is updated for example to v2 but the mod hasn't updated to v2 then the mod won't work on the server. You'd have to wait for the mod developer to update the their stuff to work on the newer version of the game.
I seem to have a server up and running, im in it and my buddy sees it on his pc but My friend gets an error when he joins. It says can not retrieve server information after putting in password and trying to connect. Any help?

Hamachi is pretty straight forward you sign up for it create a room. and everyone who wants to join has to join the Hamachi room you create down side to that they only allow like 5 people per room. Or you can portforward via your router to allow people to gain access to the server.

Please make sure that your game client itself is not set to Beta / Experimental in the video I only showed how to setup the server using the standard stable build so that's the build the server will be on but your client might be on a different build.
This is new to me, never had this issue before. Have you tried running an update on the server to see if it's fixed it? Also are you running a modified version of the game? Like lets say you are trying to do "Darkness Falls" mod as an example?
at the app_update line add -validate to it example: app_update 1234564 -validate this will verify all the game files and update them regardless if there is an update or not.

Yes nothing was actually "Installed" on your PC per say. You can delete SteamCMD folder and the folder for the server and it would be gone.

I start the server its loading then about :50s in i get like two lines of red little more green after it then it just closes i cant figure out why.

Did it probably download the files? Did you make sure the download path was correct?
Mine as well, it took me a long time to finsih the download but the folder is empty.

@@luciandev when i try to run the update bat it doesnt do anything, and i also haven't ever run a mod on the game
at the app_update line add -validate to it example: app_update 1234564 -validate this will verify all the game files and update them regardless if there is an update or not.
