The reality is most regular hairdressers don't understand curly wavy cuts and way too many hairs don't get cut properly. It takes a long time but i know Mel's methods are more thorough than visiting a commercial premise with 1 hour on the clock!

Hi Mel! English it’s not my first language, so I’ll probably mess up with the grammar and I’m sorry for it.
I’m Italian and I live in a really small town where hairdressers are not used to treat curly hair. I struggled a lot to find someone who could actually understand my hair pattern and cut it properly, in facts it’s been ruined one too many times and I always left the saloons in tears. I started cutting my hair by myself in the past year and you’ve been my guru ever since. Today I followed this tutorial and it turned out absolutely gorgeous, so I wanted to thank you for being a life saver and for spreading your knowledge to people like me.
P.S. I have mid-back lenght hair with different curl patterns (from 2B on the bottom to 3A on the top layers) and this technique worked out really fine.

I've just finished styling my hair after the cut and, if im honest, was kinda dreading checking the back but it looks so good. I can't believe that it came out so neat and even. There was only a centimetre or two that I actually removed but it has given me a totally beautiful and professional looking haircut. Mel thank you so much for posting this. I just tried it on my own hair after a bad Deva cut. It’s not dry yet but I can tell the shape is 100x better than before. The layers from the Deva cut were not uniform and I was left with a bottom heavy triangle shape. A lot of my ends were stringy and uneven. One quadrant of hair had a long layer on top, a short layer in the middle and another long layer on the bottom. Idk how she managed to cut my hair that way.

I wish I had as much hair as you do. I have as much hair on my head as you do in one subsection and I’m losing a bunch daily. 😢
Btw love the new mic. Everything sounds good with headphones in. 👍🏻

Mel thanks a lot! Your videos are giving me hope that maybe my hair can be saved. I have a question, do you recommend this haircut for super fine and damaged hair?
