Yes! Underneath that awful texture is drywall and ceiling joists just like any other ceiling. If you want... you can scrape all that texture off first so you have a smooth surface to work with.

This women has no clue what she is talking about. Installing these panels, the math *NEVER* works out to be perfect. You need a plan, with accurate measurements of each wall. Account for all the obstacles, (outlets, switches, vents ). What happens when you must shorten the width of a panel, and You lose the undercut~overlap lip? Ask her, she the expert You~Tuber Panel Installer!! (insert eye roll here)
