This seems like an ideal project for your equipment, how you work, etc. How can digging dirt be so interesting? It is not unlike my childhood farm days on the moldboard plow - hours, hours, day, ... watching the plow turn over the dirt. Almost like watching fire. Great videos! Thank you.
Man, that 250 is one sweet productive piece of machinery. If I had my choice, I would still prefer to be on that beautiful Komatsu. That click-clack of the tracks has been a sound that I have loved since I was a kid. I used to wash airplanes at a local airport that a good friend of my dad owned, and as payment I would get to run his International 125 track loader in the sand stone pile. It was some of the best fun I had as a 11/12 year old kid.
That outside shot to the end was awesome, Chris. You can even watch the dam get a little higher over time where he was spreading. That camera couldn't have been in a better place and the sound was almost perfect.
Would probably slow things down more than just one truck running once it gets muddy again. Ground would be worse with two trucks rutting it up, and would be more of headache keeping two from getting stuck in the mud than just one.
So glad to see the new excavator working out, it was a good investment. Just being able to load trucks faster and improve cycle times is a money maker. Man oh man can that thing make a big scoop.
Worked at a coil mine. They had 2 A40 trucks and a A30. Had a D8 dozer and a D6 wide track dozer. Use the D6 to put the slope on the side of the wall dam and walk it in.
Chris You and Timmy are doing a great job on all your video's . keep up the good work we liked how you got the Excavator the Dump truck and the Dozer working at the same time on the last part of your video A+ on all your video's ..
Amazing how there are so many soil types in that small area. Wonder how that happened . Is that white soil a type of clay or is it more of a sandy loam ? Thanks
Why don't you have a heated dump body to prevent the material from sticking to the dump body? Last job I worked the Cat 40 yard off-road truck had a heated body and by the third load all the material came out and stayed clean the rest of the day. Just a thought. Cheers!
I'm trying to watch this series on this job, but cannot find the start, when did you start this project. This job was the best series of films you have done, very impressive work
Hey bud you know what would be nice if you have the time on those big jobs to use a drone to show us from the air what your trying to accomplish that would be some cool footage thanks keep digging partna
Hope I don't seem dumb here but I still didn't quite understand why you dug that ditch along side one of the banks of the pond. What does that do? Curious...
Steve's Favs it’s used to help attach the dam to the ground, sounds silly but no matter how many thousand tons of dirt you put there it can still move. Buy digging through the topsoil that deep you also dig past any stumps, trench’s and variations in terrain that may cause the dam to leak. It’s basically a seal between the dam and ground to help it stay full
Seeing your videos I keep thinking of your farm. The song "pig in a pen" comes to mind. Check out Ricky Skaggs playing "pig in a pen". That song was made for you. That's some funny shit right there.
That 290 wouldn't do much good here with less then 3-4 trucks running. I watched a big Volvo go to the bottom of about a 25' hole, landed square on the bucket with the operators feet on the front glass. 2 D9's pulled it back up without a scratch on it. I knew someone was getting fired, but it worked out like it never even happened. I didn't see nothing...
Just curious: I assume the excavator is the most expensive piece of equipment you’ve operating here. Would it be more cost effective to have a second haul truck running to avoid idling the excavator while the one haul truck unloads? Or is the job too small to justify a second haul truck? Either way, I’m impressed with the rate at which you move dirt and get it placed on the dam. Correction: on the “pond dam.”
They would have to rent the second haul truck as they only own the one. That's probably around $4,000 per week. Even if they did rent a second truck they don't have a fourth employee to run it.
The camera don't really give the magnitude of dam size until the truck backs over it. Will you make a 6 foot deep cut all the way across ....need that much dirt?
Hey Bigdeal18 or Letsdig18 rather.. (My Bad) How much of a difference positive or negative do you think the 290 would make compared to the 250 on this job? Tim seemed to do just fine on his load, it was 8.5-9 scoops to fill that truck where it was 8 scoops for you. Doin good Tim!
For such a big work second hauling machine would improve efficiency a lot, wouldnt it? It is not cheaper to hire additional truck vs the expense of fuel and labour costs on idle? And in day with good condition it may save a lot to shorten overall job time. Keep up the good work. edit: ah, dozer wouldnt keep up, it is a small one.
Hey mister someone needs to teach your helper how to run your excavator he's pretty herky jerky. Maybe if he had as much invested as you do he would care a little more.
Why don’t you use a 48 inch clean out bucket or a72 inch chuck blade I mostly used a chuck blade to load Volvo rock truck in the oilfield to build oilfield access roads in the winter 35 below 0 4 buckets to a load had 4 Volvo loads every hour
Try backing the truck in at 45 degree. Cut your swing in half when loading. I should watch longer before commenting sometimes. That little trick wouldn't work where your were loading that day.
I mostly ran cats and the occasional international, but in the nineties I spent a summer on a komatsu and it impressed me with the volume of material I could move, it was around the same size as a D7, maybe slightly larger. Made it through a hard summer feeding a high rate crusher raw material off a mountain side.
Can you show how big the bed of the truck by like standing in it and have Tim record it or set up the camera. And people can see how big it is and they can tell about how much dirt it really takes. Great job and tell Tim stop talking so much lol
4:55-6:33 there's no emoji that says grateful for your knowledge and willingness to share what your experience has taught you!!! Thank you very much!!!
I am very impressed with your work. There would be 15 workers and 10 bosses in Ukraine. You are super congratulations. sorry for my english
Your English is better than a whole lot of Americans my friend.
My Grandmother was from the Ukraine.
Zarkovi was her maiden name.
Ooh no, Chris let Tim loose on the excavator.
Will mayhem ensue or he prove he's learned well from the Master.
Great shot with all the pieces of equipment working.
Stay safe
Dwayne
Yeah, great view point.
At least you are making progress that's the main thing Chris, coming along nicely.

Rocking and rolling there Chris. Good to see three of you jamming along.
Yep a lot of mudd!. You are the first one I click on everyday. Love watching you dig those ponds, you surrely know how too build them and fix them.
Had a good chuckle when all of the sudden I heard “qué pasa people” lol! Good video, keep it up!
Moved a good amount in todays vid. That dam will be done in no time. Good to see Tim get his screen time. Yall stay safe and keep on moving that dirt!

Frozen mud is always good. Have a good one buddy. Take care.
I could have watched a hour more of you guys working. Nice flow. A fan from Montana
What part of Montana? I live in northern Wyoming about 75 miles from billings
@@brianrobson3183 north central. Have. About 4 or 5 hrs from Billings
I’m living in Bozeman Montana!
WOW...wish that pond-lake was mine. Looks great Chris.
TIMMY!!! Tim timmy, Timothy! Tim, TIMMY!! 😂
Ta Ta ta Timmah! lol
Looks like ya needed 2 trucks running.Less time with ya feet up. :)
Although, I like the fact that it seems like you (or your uncle) own all of you equipt. That is how you make $$$$
Would probably slow things down more than just one truck running once it gets muddy again. Ground would be worse with two trucks rutting it up, and would be more of headache keeping two from getting stuck in the mud than just one.
Next video.."it rained and made more mud"
14:28 Just one more scoop. I am sure it will stay on! :)
Nice seeing all 3 Machines working Camera shot
Great video bro and yes I also liked the shot with all 3 working.
That's one heck of a dam!
Tim getting damn really good at operating.
So glad to see the new excavator working out, it was a good investment. Just being able to load trucks faster and improve cycle times is a money maker. Man oh man can that thing make a big scoop.
Nice video. Looked like Tim, Timmy, did a good job on the big machine
Glad you can still dig....here in Northern WIS we had 3 days @ -25 to -40F. BRRRRRR
Good progress. Thanks for the video.
Great video👍! I enjoy watching them, discorvering how you work. We do the same job, I’ve got my own small company and I live in France in Normandy.
Look at Timmy wearing his big boy pants!
Worked at a coil mine. They had 2 A40 trucks and a A30. Had a D8 dozer and a D6 wide track dozer. Use the D6 to put the slope on the side of the wall dam and walk it in.
Like the shot with all the equipment in it it's fun to watch keep up the good work
Chris You and Timmy are doing a great job on all your video's . keep up the good work we liked how you got the Excavator the Dump truck and the Dozer working at the same time on the last part of your video A+ on all your video's ..
Hey Tim, Jon from New England. Played airsoft and paintball for a long time. its a good time man! cool to see that you play also.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHRIS 😊
The frozen ground really helped you guys out, making up for lost time with the mud
Go, Chris, Go!
Get a move on the damm dirts gonna turn back to mud lol !
You're making nice progress!
Amazing how there are so many soil types in that small area. Wonder how that happened . Is that white soil a type of clay or is it more of a sandy loam ? Thanks
looks like Kayolin to me .

They're about to dredge a good size lake up here, should be quite a operation
Good job again Chris
Great video as always. Can't wait to see what y'all have next up. Stay safe
64 today here in south georgia, next week in mid 80's love warmer weather myself
At least you have had to deal with the cold front there . it would be ironic if it got too cold to work.
About how deep will the deepest part of the lake be when it's filled up???
I was just going to ask that !
Tim your a smooth operator :)
You need a chick fil A sticker on the window and get you some sponsor money haha. I always see the cup down there.
Moving some material now NICE 👍👍
Make a nice fishing lake if it had some stumps in it
Looking good 👍
Do you have an override for the automatic idle down of the engine? It is amazing that top boom cylinder has enough push and pull to load the bucket.
I'm trying to watch this series on this job, but cannot find the start, when did you start this project. This job was the best series of films you have done, very impressive work
Man chris between you and elite and jason works alot you all are making me wanna get back into driving a dump truck
How long did you wait in the drive through for chic fil a ? 2 laps around the building
Do you use a roller to compact the dam at all?
He is using the truck instead of the roller since it weighs more
Chris where you made those cuts will that be filled in or left that deep? Will you take the mud and fill in the ut?
Yay thank God for frozen mud.
Damn didn't stay frozen though
Chris has a smooth touch
I see you’re a Chick Fil A fan, too! 🐔
Seems like he has a cup from somewhere different every day
Lol, they can't be to far from town!
well i do eat breakfast everyday so that would explain a different cup lol
letsdig18 chicken minis are the BEST breakfast!
More progress Chris, now mud froze.....

@@matttom94 Ok, Thanks. Makes sense. Just have never seen that before. Appreciate it.
You're running through some fuel on this job for sure!
Seeing your videos I keep thinking of your farm. The song "pig in a pen" comes to mind. Check out Ricky Skaggs playing "pig in a pen". That song was made for you. That's some funny shit right there.

Timmy..lol...im in the triad if want to play a round of golf...just down the road
That's a huge dam. Didn't realize it'd have to be that big.
Just curious: I assume the excavator is the most expensive piece of equipment you’ve operating here. Would it be more cost effective to have a second haul truck running to avoid idling the excavator while the one haul truck unloads? Or is the job too small to justify a second haul truck? They’re making short turns, there would pretty much be a traffic jam with a second truck, then there would be more time with the excavator idling
2 would be ideal but the little dozer wouldn't be able to keep up.
Thanks, all. My question has been answered.
How do you go about knowing how to bid a job such as this?
This video reminds me a lot of what vantagetes used to put out. Keep it up.
The camera don't really give the magnitude of dam size until the truck backs over it. Will you make a 6 foot deep cut all the way across ....need that much dirt?
So I'm curious, if you only had a front loader or just a bulldozer, Would it take longer to move the same amount of dirt?
A drone update would be cool.
Hey Chris have you ever hit any crystal pocket while dig in NC? The white clay made me think of quarts crystals.
not that ive seen
how often do you have to change the teeth on your buckets?
We have that blue/ gray clay around here.
How do y'all pack the end of the lifts? Just curious. Good vid
We don't, once we put in the overflow we cut all that down and push over the pipe in lifts. Pretty much just a stockpile of dirt on the end
Saturday am coffee and my Fav.YTber, Volvo 250 at work
Whoa! That's not Chris! I feel violated. Like I came home and found a stranger on my couch. Lol. Jk. Airsoft is the cats pajamas!
What temperature is it up near you heard it -52 degrees in Chicago wind chill
Timmy I play airsoft too I swear I seen you once at the range
Hey Bigdeal18 or Letsdig18 rather.. (My Bad) How much of a difference positive or negative do you think the 290 would make compared to the 250 on this job?

Looks like another haul truck on a job this size would be a great benefit even if it had to be rented. Explain why not.
what controls do u run?
Gage Chris runs excavator mode not backhoe
I think he's said in other videos that he runs Cat controls.
16.00 mins exactly if anyone wants the perfect screenshot of the channel : ) Tim, Chris wouldn`t have you around if you were not doing a good job !
Dam it Chris! Lol
Hey mister someone needs to teach your helper how to run your excavator he's pretty herky jerky. Maybe if he had as much invested as you do he would care a little more.
Anyone else tune in to see where he has lunch every day? My Chil Fil A drink of choice is a sweet tea Arnold Palmer. #cupholdersquad
Why don’t you use a 48 inch clean out bucket or a72 inch chuck blade I mostly used a chuck blade to load Volvo rock truck in the oilfield to build oilfield access roads in the winter 35 below 0 4 buckets to a load had 4 Volvo loads every hour
I WAS SURPRISED YOU DIDNT BUILD THAT UP IN 2-3 FOOT LAYERS AND COMPACT IT, ENJOY THE VIDEOS
Who is in the dozer???
In the previous videos of this job Tim has been running the dozer.
He said Tim doesn’t have much time between truck loads
Probably Chris's uncle.
How much deeper does that cut have to go before you hit pay dirt?! "No guts no glory!"
Parker and Tony would be happy!
Try backing the truck in at 45 degree. Cut your swing in half when loading. I should watch longer before commenting sometimes. That little trick wouldn't work where your were loading that day.
If you had a 700 you could load the truck in one scoop! Love the videos!
Maybe 3.
I know your a vavo guy but you gotta give the komatsu credit she's hanging with some pretty big equipment
that komatsu is a damn good little dozer
I will agree. I've got an old d20p-5 very tough very handy. Keep up the good videos they are my bedtime stories
I mostly ran cats and the occasional international, but in the nineties I spent a summer on a komatsu and it impressed me with the volume of material I could move, it was around the same size as a D7, maybe slightly larger. Just to be accurate terminology-wise: is it “pond dam”, “pond-dam” or “pondam”? Or just the “damn dam”? I’ve lost my South-talk.
Lofton Harris damn pond dam damnit
In Australia it is just a dam. I know what a pond is but sounds a bit fancy.
why doesn´t the truck dirver just turns around right where he is loading? He has the space and is quicker than just keep backing
Can you show how big the bed of the truck by like standing in it and have Tim record it or set up the camera. And people can see how big it is and they can tell about how much dirt it really takes. Great job and tell Tim stop talking so much lol
Chris said it was rated for 22 tons at the end of the video
Air soft? Good lord keep him in the haul truck
