@2:33 & 6:43 is Tucson, Arizona's Hank Arnold's "Twister" Super Modified. With a Hilborn 4-71 super charged 327 Chev, no front brakes and sponsored by Chrome Inc., Hills Bros. Chemical and Sidles Engine Supply. In 1963/64 The "Twister" so far outclassed the competition that this car was like "Star Wars" compared to everyone else. IMO The "Twister" and J.C. Agajanian's "Ol' Calhoun #98", driven to Indy 500 victory by Parnelli Jones in 1963, were the two Most Beautiful race cars of all time. Hank was inducted into the Sprint Car HOF in Knoxville Iowa and of course everyone knows Parnelli!
@@marktheaardvark7208 Not to mention that blower whine all the way down the back stretch at Manzy was enough to give you chills. Hank Arnold was one of the best Az. drivers from that era and that's saying a lot! RIP Hank 1967.
not sure where the name Southwestern T^Body came from. Back in the 60s & 70s when that style of cars came to Salt Lake to race in the Copper Cup Classic open competition race with our supermodified roadsters and sprint cars we called them San Jose sprinters. I never however went to San Jose to see what they raced there.
Supers,,lets go back to em way more fun than the way to expensive cookie cutter sprints and modifieds we have now. You had to actually use your brain and build something and make it work!!
great music and pics thanks for this are these what became befor sprint cars they are way cool seen them run this year at tulare i think some still around did they have wings also
Was always my favorite style of body and class. Good choice of music too !

So true , IMO the Twister Super Mod has to be the best looking race car ever, and it ran just as good as it looked
