The 98 car at 1:41 was my grandpa owned it bill Krug construction in the side and front that’s badass to finally see a video of it running instead of pictures
Absolutely stacked field of very good drivers and very good cars during this specific time frame in California . If you made a main at Ascot during this era consider yourself a very talented driver. If you won a couple of these back then your in some very special company.
I am looking for any information i can find on a 1979 red #7 Champ Car series, NANCE chassis that was sold and shipped to Australia. It has Dan Swanks Engineering on the side but we have had no luck following that lead... Any information is greatly appreciated
Have you tried the HAMB? Their vintage sprint car thread is visited by the likes of Shaw, Caruthers, Parsons, and many old timers, and open wheel collectors. Post it up there and get ready to know everything about your car.

My father was Jim doughty and was killed in his race car 1979
I'm the current owner of the yellow #00 car driven by Tim Lightfoot seen gently backing into the wall at 1:30.
Haven't seen a tamale wagon in years. Great memories.
Bettenhausen was disabled with is arm after an accident and drive this monster of 650 hp, Bravo.
I grew up watching the races at asco
"Bettenhausen is running 10th" - didn't hear that phrase much at at 1970's sprint car race.
I believe Bettenhausen was running a silver crown car, it looked awfully long. He might have had it out west for some other event and just drove it.
I attended a CRA race in 1984 and 1985 at Ascot Raceway.
These actually were "The good old days"
Not until Steve Kinser arrived.
Last time I saw Ascot this rough was Redline 7000 ...
Thanks
Muy bueno el video 👍
