Description Updated 15/03/21: An "Eagle Eye", had spotted a problem with this tutorial. At time 16.36, the fuel pump gasket and diaphragm was installed incorrectly. Placing the diaphragm towards the grove side will likely damage the diaphragm and engine won't run properly. I should place the gasket first before the diaphragm. I wondered how the engine ran! Thanks for clearly watching 1hr full video. Kudos to "Bertrand Wangsanegara" for identifying this incorrect gasket/diaphragm placement.

Hey was wondering how you tuned it. And I’m currently experiencing a problem where the engine doesn’t want to idle if it’s cold. It will turn off by its self unless i keep the throttle on until it’s hot then it will idle with a few hiccups, changed the spark plug, oil, petrol and air filter with no help. The only thing that worked was tightening the screw on the throttle cable but that’s adding revs to it, which i probably shouldn’t do. Any suggestions?

Thanks for watching. Best to keep the original mixture adjustment setting. It's right on the top throttle of the carburetor and do full carburetor rebuild especially with new metering diaphragm. Possibly the metering diaphragm becomes hardened which affects the idde. Altering the mixture adjustment will gives you a temporary fix but later when you fully rebuild the carby, you will have trouble in adjusting the mixture again to its factory default. 13:26 I notice the replacement doesn't have those additional two small holes to the check-valve. What's the purpose of those? Is it just a more reliable design on the original?

Thanks for watching. The replacement assy is used on different carburetors, but it serves the same purpose but has a different design. I will be uploading more repair videos in the future.

Hi, thanks for the video. Do you normally replace the needles etc with what comes with the carby kit, or just use the gaskets etc that come with it?

Thanks for watching. I normally replaced the small parts what's comes with the kit except the pin. Other parts are handy, especially when you have missing parts or damaged parts. For fuel pump diaphragm and gaskets, you only need two of them. It depends on which one matches the original for GX25 or GX35 carburetor. If you like our videos, please do share and subscribe. More videos to come! Vtech

@@Varietech-AU thanks for the help. Installed the new parts but now it won't prime. The only thing I noticed different to what I took off is that the new jet o'ring seems much looser than the one that came off.
UPdate - put the old o ring back in and no difference.

@anthonywhitney634 review your assembly of the kit. Check the fuel pump gasket and diaphragm is installed correctly. Watch my VTECH 71 Honda GX25 video for reference. They are similar on the assembly. Submerged the carby in the water with fuel intake and return fitted with fuel lines. Extend the fuel line out of the water and don't allow water to get into the fuel intake and return nozzles. While the carburetor is submerged in the water, block the return line and press the primer bulb many times and observe if there are bubbles coming the side of the carby. If it does, redo your assembly. Check if the red Check Valve is good.

@@Varietech-AU thanks for your help. In the end it was a combination of problems, the carby kit from the carby doctor didn't have exactly the right gasket (the one that sits around the spring) and also the jet o'ring was too big. (I think I needed the D10 instead of K10 kit). Also my fuel filter was really dirty restricting flow too. Thanks once again.

@anthonywhitney634 K10 and D10 have the same gaskets and diaphragms kit, except there are four added small parts for the K10. Possibly, we have different suppliers. I have used our D10 and K10 on most of my repairs and fits perfectly, including the jet o'ring.
