It's crazy that this guitar solo is so emotional and people that call this the greatest solo ever seem to understand it. It's like it lulls you into comfort with the lows and then when the guitar goes high almost sounds like a cry for help and then back into the lows as if its all gonna be okay. Man, you're just my inspiration. MIT professor, karate black belt, a brilliant podcast host, now a guitarist. You're one of the most Versatile people I've ever seen.
Lex, I have been listening to you for years and knew you played guitar, but I had never seen you play. I resonate so much with your thought process and the questions that you ask during your interviews. I'm a Navy Vet and now getting my aerospace engineering degree and my creative outlet is also the electric guitar. Obviously, I had to learn how to play part of this solo as it is one of the greatest ever written. Anyway, I say all that to say that I respect the shit out of you and already felt like I resonate with you, now even more so after watching you play that solo on the guitar. Almost brought tears to my eyes! haha Love you, brother!
Love it and 3:02 was smooth. Especially how you end it. You did your own version yet it sounded like something Gilmour would do. Just lots of bend and simple melodic playing and very interesting choice of tone. It sounds raspier than Floyd but it worked. Which is all this song is about. Gotta feel it and let the music play itself. You gotta post the full version Lex. It's been years now.
I love to watch you play Lexer! It instantly grounds your energies into passion, something that cannot be unseen once seen here, in you. Like love set to music...
Lex, I appreciate your honesty. Even in your playing it shines through. I am now learning piano but also want to learn the guitar, mostly to play this and other Pink Floyd solo’s. Keep at it man, you’re inspiring millions and somehow I feel proud of you. I think because you so honestly display your progress.
My God, Brother that was beautiful. Knowing where you came from and your struggle with understanding the 'American' affinity to music, well, I think you got it. I have listened to that album on and off since I was nine. I really can't say if it is my first or fifth favorite song in that album, it would depend upon what I am going through and my age as I listen to it. But I can say that it is my favorite album of all time. It affects me differently at every stage of life. I have said this to few people, and the ones that I did looked at me like I was crazy. I believe that 'Pink Floyd The Wall' encapsulates truly what a man experiences in the emotional tragedy that is called life. Sometimes I listen to it almost everyday for two or three years straight. Sometimes not for two or three years. It is beautifully tragic and poetically telling of what a man sees as he starts to see the truth. Then sometimes he has to look away. Like a Greek Tragedy, a Shakespeare Play or a Dostoevsky Novel; It is human incarnate. But that song, that song, that song!!! That song is what I want to become. I sometimes want to forget everything and just be. I sometimes want to believe that I could. But isn't that the point of the placement in the album? Just after the Break Down, leading to the indoctrination? Beauty in Fiction. Growth in Tragedy. Passion in Music. I feel too much. I see you.
Lex, Between The Godfather suit, your work on AI and bringing it to the attention of millions, the guitar shredding, and your ties with Philadelphia (I’m a Philly boy myself. Drexel Alumni with a degree in Philosophy) I must say: You rock, brother. Please keep up the good work!

Arguably one of the top 5 leads in rock history. Well done!
People usually say 'don't quit your day job'... looks like Lex can comfortably quit his. Excellent performance here!
How is you playing one of my all time favorite songs still undiscovered by me for 3 years? I have been blown away by you since first seeing you on Joe rogans podcast and slowly going from his videos to now mainly yours. The way you interview is second to none and the curiosity you convey towards life and consciousness is astounding. You seem such an empathetic and caring man that really desires what's best for all and everyone. Your interviews get me to sleep every night with your soft spoken, understanding and encouraging way of talking. I could gush on and on but it will never be read by the man himself. Rock on Lex 🤘 I'd love to meet you
I’m glad to know someone else that can be lulled to sleep by his interviews. I wish there was a way to keep some of my favorite interviews looping through the course of 6 hours.
@@carlawellbaum9698 I wake up every morning with lex staring into my soul and youtube asking me 'video paused would you like to continue playing' so i end up waking up with him too 😁 if I was gay he would be my crush
Great work Lex. Really so happy to have learned about you through the Rogan podcast. Keep up the great work in all your ventures.
Well done sir. I can hear the “scent of a woman” passion in your playing.
hahahahaha nice one
Indeed
Bahahaha who else is here from JRE???
@Elias Håkansson From the JRE. Lex mentioned that movie and joe clowned him for being hung up on romantic stories and such. Which is hilarious thing to say to a Russian.
Adorable, right? Young people.
Lex can do everyhing. Very smart, MIT researcher, great podcaster, great interviewer, never aging. How come!! Life is so not fair.
Legit all around BADASS. Black belt in bjj, excellent guitar player, twice guest on JRE, ML wizard, likes the Godfather. I mean, CUHMAWN!!!! \m/ Keep being awesome and a HUGE source of inspiration my man! \m/
Likes the Godfather, but Loves Scent of a Woman...

jkquijas1 pathetic.. 🤦♀️
Took an 'L' for the Scent of a Woman though 😂 That aside dude is a straight badass and I'm going through all his podcasts and enjoying then all.
Not sure how or why this popped up in my feed, or how I ended up here… but I was not expecting lex to be a musician. This was awesome
Dammit Lex, that's a damn good cover, including the improvised part. Much love from Mother Russia, brother.
Clearly someone who can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail... The world is better place for people like you - keep going 👊
Holy shit Lex. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan and your rendition of this solo just gave me goosebumps.
PHD, Blackbelt, Hours of genius content, shredding a strat ...
I'm guessing you don't yet have kids.
Having a kid would be a DUMBASS MOVE if you're trying to accomplish some stuff. But, people do it anyway. Thats no excuse, the kids will grow up eventually.
@@Deathridaz714 raising a kid to be a good human one day in today's world is an accomplishment like no other. our children are the future of humanity.
I remember him saying on the Joe Rogan podcast that he'd love to be a father one day.
@@Deathridaz714 Say that to Elon Musk who has 5 kids and still accomplishing more than most people on the planet. Treating children like a burden is a ridiculous stereotype. It's like blaming your lack of productivity on your family. Only you're responsible for your time.

First love your Podcast…. but Wow! Didn’t know you could play like that! I’ve been playing since I was 16 and I’m 52 and still gig weekly. Nice job! Your technique and feel is really strong. Little advice watch your pitch in some of your bends. I’ve enjoyed this as much as your other videos. Thanks for posting!! Cool to see and hear this side of you.
Wow you rock. This thanksgiving I wanted to say thanks to you for being the best teacher I've ever had in so many ways. Love your video channel and all the interviews. Thx for sharing the genius with the world.
This is the first time I’ve heard Lex play… damn. Bravo sir
A SERIOUS TALENT ACROSS SO MANY AREAS OF LIFE....big props LEX
I had no idea who Lex fridman was till he randomly popped up on my feed. This kid is amazingly multitalented!
lmao I randomly discovered him this week and I've been over indulging in his content ever since
@@nateo7045 They go way over my head on their discussions. But, enjoyable nonetheless
Get out!! Lex can play like this?? I heard it mentioned he plays guitar and I figure he's a strummer+ Lol!
He's playing it as relaxed as Gilmour. Wow...I'm seriously impressed. He played it with so much emotion. Bravo, Lex. 👍🏼
You are literally the coolest person I have ever come across, Lex.
This song has one of the best outro solos in rock history. Love seeing Lex get down on the axe like this
Lex is always doing things in a way that polishes his attributes
Well done...you have the flow... you are genuinely feeling the music. True to yourself bravo. Once you feel the adrenalin...breath...try to delay a couple of nano seconds...relax jaw and shoulder, breath you are creating cosmic vibrations
Well now i like/love Lex even more playing one of my personal favorite bands. I think David himself would be proud/honored your an obvious fan
A musician too!
Can't be more awesome!!!
Happy Birthday Sir.
Seriously, Right!? This man is incredible... Great Cover/Great Playing!
Question: I see the "Happy Birthday" posts... Did he share this on his Birthday? I'll admit, I'm a bit taken back, because Lex Fridman is a Research Scientist at MIT and he doesn't look a day over 20 -21... Ha! Does anyone know what his age is? (He seems to have accomplished sooooo much in such a short time... Maybe "Skipped" a couple of grades before entering University??? ) :)
Cheers! :D
Sourov Roy Thanks Bro! I will! Cheers! 😀
Алёша, классно! Не думал, что у Вас еще и такой талант имеется.
It's always good to have balance of creativity, intellect, and sportsmanship. Wow! This was unexpected! I just started my guitar journey last year and play daily now. This inspires me to keep on!
One of my favorite solos of all time. Great job, Lex!
Man, you're just my inspiration.
MIT professor, karate black belt, a brilliant podcast host, now a guitarist.
You're one of the most Versatile people I've ever seen.
You forgot the chess.
Lex,
I have been listening to you for years and knew you played guitar, but I had never seen you play.
The child has grown, the dream is gone..
Tears my soul apart..
You’re so interestingly unique lex, I’ll always admire you.
The multifaceted, omnipotent genius that we do not deserve.
After some reflection, I've realised that humanity deserves more humans like you. 1 million at the very least.
Thank you for sharing this with the rest of us, extremely enjoyable! Great podcast, great heart!!
Not ashamed to say I have a man-crush on this dude, rock on man!
I'll second that. What a dude.
The more I find out about Lex, the more I am impressed and amazed by him.
Good job mate, one of my fav band and guitar solos of all time.
Pink Floyd's music is really timeless !
Lex, you are outstanding, you have my absolute respect...
David Gilmour would be pleased… lex you’re a treasure my man.
Discovered you on JRE--Joe doesn't understand the romantic and passionate Russian soul. I get my peeps, they run hot and cold. hahah Great solo. :)
Someone’s in love! And I don’t blame you. I’m a straight guy and this guy is an inspiration !!!
I see you.
Lex,
Between The Godfather suit, your work on AI and bringing it to the attention of millions, the guitar shredding, and your ties with Philadelphia (I’m a Philly boy myself. Drexel Alumni with a degree in Philosophy) I must say: You rock, brother. Please keep up the good work!
Another example of greatness from Lex Friedman. Incredible guitar skills! from an old time Floyd fan.
Hell Yeah Lex! Ripping!!! Killing it hermano. Rock on you crazy diamond
