You know how you can have a song in A Major or A Minor? Well, for the blues, can you write a song specifically in A Major or A Minor. Would you just use different 7th chords? Instead of A7, it would be AM7 for a minor song? And it would be AMaj7 for major song? Just confused.

why is the 5 dominant 7? and not minor 7?
It can be minor 7, but I would say in most instances it’s played as a dom7. For your own writing I would say experiment with both versions.

@@swiftlessons Hey! I stumbled on the same question! Can you maybe explain why dominant 7 works in this context? Can any chord of this C Minor progression be changed to a dominant 7 and would the key still stay C Minor?
