I really enjoyed Gaviota 5. I’m an obese beginner that has pronation and arch issues. This did not disappoint. Bought this together with Asics Gel Kayano 30 (same size, both in wide) but the Asics gave me dead toenails immediately after a 5km run. So yeah, I used this continuously with no alternate and sadly, i think I have to retire this after 300 kms coz it’s no longer as supportive as it used to be. I will most likely get another Gaviota 5 soon. I have improved and lost weight and the new one will be used for easy and long runs. My only issue with it is that it gets a little too warm once you reach 10 km.
The H frame in the 5 is a top layer of firmer foam that looks like a figure 8. The two loops of the 8 are under the forefoot and heel and it crosses under the midfoot. Matt out here fighting the fight with names
Would supinators be able to wear gaviota 5? 🤔 I know J frame is for overpronators bc the support is more biased on the medial side but how bout the H frame??
Sorry to bother but I had a question are the gaviota 5s good for someone wanting to use them for a police academy I will need to use them on chain link fence and a solid wall
The Mach 5 to Mach 6 are two completely different shoes also. They've upped the stack in the 6 by a whole whopping 8mm bringing it closer than the Clifton. I won't be buying the Mach 6 and there is nothing similar with Hoka now. They have betrayed the Mach loyalists.

@@DoctorsofRunning Gaviota Coast 👍😂
Is Gaviota 5 toe box as roomy as the Brooks Beast 23? Would love to see a comparison video of the two.
Same volume over toes, more width gaviota
J-frame vs H-Frame

Fit of v5 is similar to Atmos for me.
Which is more stable now, arahi 7 or Gaviota 5?
Worth upgrading from Gaviota 4 to 5?
Is this good for plantar fasciitis?
I have normal arch but is my understanding that stability shoes are good for plantar fasciitis.
They can be! Often in the acute or early stage when things are most irritable, a stable rockered shoe can be helpful to take pressure off that tissue.
I couldn't even wear the Gaviota 4. They were simply too hard. I have supination.
