I had a question. My calculator keeps giving me syntax error. What does that mean
@@ianpardue2615 One way you'll get a syntax error is if you don't close parentheses: (8+3 instead of (8+3)
Another time you might get a syntax error is using a subtract sign instead of a negative, or the other way around.
If it's not one of those, let me know what you type in when you get a syntax error and we can troubleshoot it!

Just passed my math test. I scored 174 and have never been more proud of myself! Thank you so so much for your videos, they guided me last days! I cannot imagine passing this test without your explanations, they were so helpful. Also, i want to thank you for your instructions to the calculator, it saved me a lot of time on the test. There were only two questions i was stuck on and eventially did not solve them, but other were so familiar. GUYS, HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO WATCH THIS GUY A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE EXAM!!!! So I took my test today for the 4th time. I failed by 2 points. I was bummed but, my last tests were 128,138 138 and this one was 143. I only watched your videos as of yesterday and learned so MUCH. It was your videos that helped me get a better score today! I didn't pass but I sure am closer to my goal

@@Flavor_The_Moment Don't feel like you need to know all the keys, because there are many on there that you won't use! In this video, I try to show all of the main ones: fractions, negatives, square, square root, powers, table, and probability. Those should be plenty to know for solving almost every calculator problem!

When i use negative numbers in any equation (even a basic easy problem) i always get syntax error on GED practice and on the real exam

I think you might be using the black - button on the right side instead of the white - button on the bottom. Let me know if that works!
On the triangle question, you rotated the base counter clockwise. Is it always that way or just the next larger area?
Hey there, for a triangle with a 90 degree angle, if you put it with one part flat on the bottom, you can call that the base. Then, the height is whatever goes straight up. So that's why I rotated it to see what to make the base and height. BUT, it'll still work correctly if you rotate it so they are opposite, too! Does that help?

can somebody please tell me how to determine whether or not you use multiplication or the NcR button??
Hey there, the one time you'll use the nCr button is if you're finding how many smaller groups can be made from a bigger group:
Q: You have 8 paintings, and want to hang up 3. How many different ways can you choose 3 paintings from the 8?
A: 8 nCr 3 = 56
But if you're choosing 1 of each from lists, that will be multiplication.
Q: You have 10 DVDs, 3 board games, and 4 card games. How many combinations can be created if you want to watch 1 DVD, play 1 board game, and play 1 card game?
A: 10 • 3 • 4 = 120
And any problem with "how many orders" are possible will always use multiplication. Let me know if that helps any!

I don't know how to get an equal sign in an equation eg:y=5x+8=20
Great question! You'll just type in the 5x+8 into the y= so it will be y=5x+8 and then you can see which x-value has a y-value of 20!
Hello, help please. When I uses the table key for y= I get to the ask screen on calculator press ok and my table is blank. I watched you several times but I still get a blank table. My starts=0 step=0 auto-ask-x please help I take my test tomorrow. Thank you so much in advance.
Hey there, I would switch it over to Auto for equations of lines. You could switch it to ask-x for Quadratics. Hope that helps!

I believe the TI-Smartview comes with a free 30-day trial, but only works for desktop.
How would I solve 1/2 ÷8? With no calculator? Having to do this without a calculator. Also how do you divide 24,096 by 24? If you can't use a calculator?
To do the first one, 8 is the same as 8 ÷ 1 or 8/1
So we can write:
1/2 ÷ 8/1
To change from a ÷ to • with fractions, you can flip the 2nd fraction. So this becomes:
1/2• 1/8
Then, multiple the tops together: 1 • 1 = 1
And the bottoms together 2 • 8 = 16
So final answer is 1/16
The other one, you do 24 into 24 one time.
24 into 0 goes 0 times. 24 goes into 9 0 times. And 24 goes into 96 4 times.
So 1,004 is the answer. It's harder to explain that one via text instead of writing it all out

Hey there, You definitely don't need to know every button! I try to show all of the main ones here: fractions, negatives, square, square root, powers, table, and probability. Those should be plenty to know for solving almost every calculator problem!
How many questions are on each subject ?
Math: About 40 questions (5 no calculator, 35 calculator)
Science: 30 - 35 questions
Social Studies: Around 30 questions
RLA: 45 - 50 questions with 1 essay

hey, my name is Faith & Im 18 years old; i need help..ive already taken the math practice test twice, once i scored 139, this time 138 (i got worse by one credit), i really need to pass this, i feel guilty about this bc my dad is paying for my tests so every time i fail, it comes out of his pocket, i need to know how to better understand these problems, ive been out of school for a while now, im having to cram 4 years of math into less than 3 months, is there ANYONE out there who’s willing to help me better understand this subject? i know a bunch of people struggle with it; they say its the most difficult subject on the actual GED tests.
