Great video, Val. Really comprehensive, even for those who own the book. I'm using Scarlet Heroes to playthrough Gardens of Ynn. Highly recommended. Can't wait to watch the rest of your videos. Keep up the good work 👏

Well done, sir. Excellent expose on these games and the solo gaming ideas/ possibilities within.

Fantastic and very helpful overview of all 3 systems! :D

Ayy! I like that you covered Exemplars and Eidolons. I'm in the minority who prefers E&E and it's rare to see anything about it.
For E&E, what are your favorite Gifts in each class (and general)?
Also, E&E is *free* and also doubles as a publishing template.

Excellent overview. I feel like I barely will have to read the book to get started.
But yeah, this system looks great. I have had the pdf in a folder for a year now, but never got around to checking it out. I think this will be a perfect way to go through all the modules I bought over the last year (got a little carried away on kickstarter).
    Cheers again.

I like using Scarlet Heroes + the Mortal Heroes rules from the Deluxe version of Godbound for a true buffet of character creation options.

Ouuh, I have yet to read the Mortal Heroes rules, but they do sound cool

I've actually done quite a bit of solo gaming with Godbound and Mythic GME, though in that case I found that I get the best results by giving myself a small party instead of just one character.

Interesting! I know I tend to give myself one PC plus one or two NPCs. I haven't tried running multiple PCs at the same time tho, since NPCs tend to be more simple to deal with

This game is built with a solo game in it, all you need is this book to play nothing else.

Exactly as I said in my video. But since that same book recommends Mythic for those who want to explore solo roleplaying further, I also discuss how it plays out when you do that

Found it stange that Worlds Without Numbers was not here and instead Exemplars and Eidolons (that i dident even know it exists).
    What your thoungs about WWN?
Btw i just found that Scarlet Heroes misses the Dungeon Layouts as, yes it gives you how many rooms, but dont tell you the rooms shapes. Easely fixable with 4against darkness.

I haven't looked much into Worlds Without Numbers, but I have played some Outer Dust which is supposed to be based on Stars Without Numbers and I quite liked it so far (tho it is heavier with rules). I will definitely be checking out WWN in the future. The reason I went with Exemplars is because I was struck by the fact it's so similar to Scarlet Heroes while having similarities with Godbound. I thought it would make for a good comparison, plus all three of them can work with fantasy settings. I totally agree with you about the room shapes. I was playing with the dungeon rules yesterday and I found that's definitely something missing (although I don't mind just making them up as I go). Another thing I find lacking is more direction on how many doors there are in each new rooms. With the Scarlet Heroes rules it's like you can just make up doors whenever you want by rolling 1d8. Thanks for the recommendation. Maybe there will be a video comparing random dungeon generators sometime in the future.

@@ValTheVideomancer Oh yes, i highly recomend Worlds Without Number. You can have it for free, like most Kevin books, with the exception of the Deluxe stuff.
It is the Fantasy setting, the Stars Without Numbers but in Fantasy.
One thing that i dislike is to waste my time at start of a game, picking/chosing what kinda of equipment my PC have, and on WWN it have starter equipment packs.
Add to that it have the multitude of oracles that we are allrady used with Kevin books.

I like E&E since it's like a nice midway between Godbound and Scarlet Heroes.

I didn't even know this game existed. I have almost all Kevin books, they are realy great.

I am still on the fence about buying Scarlet Heroes. I am not into the setting, but the solo rules are awesome.

I would give it a shot if I were you. Just like you I didn't care about the setting, so I just used everything else and it worked great. It's really easy to play fantasy settings, but with a little bit more work you could play other genres
