Great video, Lichfield is in the north and Redditch/Bromsgrove the south though, past Lichfield the line goes single track and joins up with the XC route just north of Tamworth, it's only used by freight and diversions now but I think there are a couple of XC services up there to retain driver knowledge
As a regular user, the stations are on point, sounds are good apart from the pause, doors are faster than IRL as you said its a commuter service pre covid the trains would be filled to where the whole cabin is full of people standing outbound from Birmingham new street, just my 2 cents
I think they’ve done alright with the sounds, considering it’s quite a hard train to replicate in terms of sounds. Just the doors, small bits of scenery and some of the sounds just needs a bit of a tweak
Again the actual sounds I think are fine, it’s just the way it’s been stitched together to work with the train controls that’s really odd and off putting to hear when driving it
I do wonder how much can be done with sounds. I got the impression that Duncan, who did a lot of the recon on site, actually recorded the motors. Would he have had to get recordings of a start up in each notch? - which might be difficult on a working line. Just wondering! Great video, thanks!
My bet is that the sounds are connected to the speed, so by doing a power less than level 4, the sounds cut out as you haven’t gotten fast enough to hear the nest sound yet. This theory would fit in with hearing deceleration sound in coasting.
Sadly it's just lack of effort on DTG's part. If you watched closely on the release stream you can see matt constantly coming out of stations instantly into notch 4 to hide the fact the sounds weren't finished
@@EnfieldExplorer do you mean to imply that DTG would act less that respectable in representing their products? i have never known DTG to be missleading. (couldnt even write this with a straight face)
@@thestargateking DTG knew the sounds were bugged an thats why Matt drove in Notch 4 and Step 3 only. That being because that is where the sounds are mapped correctly. I'm starting to give up with DTG, if they don't turn around they are gonna lose more and more customers.
@@EnfieldExplorer ngl, i think the theory of "well Armstrong are going to fix it anyway has let DTG become lazy. TBH at this point DTG should just outsource the train making to Armstrong, it would give armstrong better access to the market as not everyone is gonna pay twice for the same thing, and it would save DTG the time that could be put towards other things. it would make DLC prices a little bit more than normal, but perhaps initial prices could be reduced by offering a livery pack separately so those that want the extra details that only AP would bother with can get them while leaving the regular train with better sounds and consistent features overall.

i enjoyed your enthusiasm for the co-acting signal and the green banner repeater!
Thank you for coming back I was subscribed when you did train simulator 2015!!
I do feel that the model is alright, the sounds are just extremely...let’s say interesting....

Thanks for the information, might have confused the XC bit with Tamworth as they both cross over like that

I’ve got that route too mate and It’s the first time ever I drive the 323 since it was on Microsoft Version of the train simulator
Great now i can see what does TS 2021 looks like

Thanks! Will do!
Lichfield is North East. Bromsgrove, Redditch and Worcester are South West :)
Is the BR Class 323 a Electrostar

Yh but that can all be edited and modified to match what it needs to in term of controls and speed
Have you use Armstrong powerhouse in train simulator

seems like a good theory, so basically bugged to hell

whuld love to know. it's not working in my TS -.-
You think the sound is weird, this is my local line, it's really accurate!
Sounds weren’t my concern just how they were implemented
If this is “accurate” this is not your local line mate 🤣

We don't care
didn't expect 323s to have car fans in them
