Your kids are getting the best education watching you. I remember watching my mom n dad build our homes. What I wouldn't give to see Dad puffing his cigar while measuring and hammering, and Mom frowning at him again. lol They built a great, gentle life for me. 💜

@@danieloliver20 At 69, I was a constructor all my life. I too have done some stupid things much higher off the ground than these young men. One think here that caught my eye was standing on the very top of a ladder. That will get your A. hurt quick. I understand they are cutting corners for time, but man, it only takes one stupid mistake and you are not going to work for some time if not ever again. 'Those that say these young men are fun to watch or they know what they are doing, have no clue how dangerous some things can be on a construction job. JS

@@jerryhubbard4461 yeah standing on top of a ladder is a no no. Pump Jacks and a 2x12 to stand on are the way to go when doing sheeting or siding. Working in the sun & triple digit temp is VERY dangerous, but money talks and ... haha, you know the rest!

The heat that you are enduring causes all kinds of problems, including brain lapses. With the heat and fires, look at creating a water storage container near the house and fill it from your stream. You'll need a gas powered pump to pump from the stream and you may need it for fire fighting or just watering your garden. Wells usually can only handle a limited amount of water withdrawn from them. You are making great progress but your weather conditions are a bit scary. Good Luck, Rick

Watching you too build your home takes me back 35 years when my Dad built his dream home in Coshocton, Ohio....The Amish would go by often on SR 83 and were so impressed with watching this "English" build an entire home.. that they offered to help. Dad gladly accepted and learned alot from them. But the biggest and best event...I believe is when they invited Dad, to a barn raising. Those pictures are long gone such as Dad and Mom...but watching you both takes me back to my 20's and wonderful memories....Thank You.

You know what.... I grew up with my dad and family bailing hay like that. First it was cut , then tedded ( which put it into rows), then bailed, then loaded onto an open back truck. Man, when I look back at how things were done and the "road" we took a loaded truck of hat down , proves eyeballs would pop right out of their heads !!!!!! Beautiful memories brought back, THANKYOU, to go with beautiful memories your family is making and in 60 odd yrs they'll look back like I'm doing. May God continue to bless this family and the build, and the 2 young men and year business amen. Nan from Australia 🇦🇺🤗🙏💞🙏

Pro Mom tip-figure out where your doorknobs are going to hit the wall when they’re fully open, and put blocking in your framing at that place. No constant sheetrock repairs from doors opening hard against the wall. It’s on my “must-do” list for our dream home.

The two of you are amazing. Just stand inside and look at all of the lumber that you have secured into the walls. It is spectacular. Wish we could have a new video 3 or 4 times a week, but I know that you are to busy for that, but a girl can wish. God bless you and ypur family.

The house is looking fabulous. Those trusses add that extra something to the style and very appropriate “lodge” look with the mountains surrounding you. This build is really moving along rapidly and the garden beds look awesome. 👏👏👏
I just had to come back to say WOW…how beautiful is that piece of property you have. Incredibly beautiful.

The house looks like a Homestead already it's beautiful. In Australia we have these older style farmhouse homes with the big Bullnose verandahs that go all the way around the house. The whole verandah is covered. We lived in one of these grand old homes as kids years ago we could ride our bikes all the way around it. I always remember that house fondly. Your children will ALWAYS have fond memories here but this house will be the home that sets their course. They will know anything is possible because you led by example. 🌟🙏

I love your stories at the end of each video, it gives courage, and waiting for a new video of your progress shortened, the way you transfer it is if or you tell a story, actually this is the case, it is also the case story of and about your future home.
Me and my wife live in a flat on the fifth floor with a beautiful view over the polder and on the living room, we look at a Hungarian oak, where many birds come into from small to large, the tree is after all those years ( 39) Almost larger than our flat that is 10 high.
When I look at you, I see myself walking there, in that large open space on your field.
Instead of looking on the PC, here is not much more space, almost everything has been built up in our village.
But the years we still have we stay where we are now, I am almost 65 years old, so moving is not an option, so I enjoy your story every time, with the construction of your future
Kind regards Harry from Holland (The Netherlands)

It looks amazing!!! The house is going to be stunning when it’s all done. I feel like there’s going to be a lot of bee/wasp nests where the overhang meets the house (if that makes sense 🤔)

Here's a little tip. Something I did when I was building my house, that came in very handy later on. Do this once you finish the wiring and plumbing, but before you insulate or sheetrock/logs or whatever is going to cover your walls. Walk around the whole house, and take pictures and/or videos of all the walls. 2 or 3 years from now, when you want to hang something on the wall, or penetrate the wall for something, you can go back and see what is behind that wall. You won't remember the details several years from now. I've gone back and looked at those pictures several times when I wanted to hand curtains, hang a TV on the wall, or make sure there are no water lines or electrical wires in a spot I need to cut a hole. Just a suggestion - and keep giving us these awesome videos.
