..yep, i have had that happen and was using oil. i think it was either something in the manufacturing or stress from the use, not sure. Good job sir...!
There's a few things to play with regarding these mistakes. One thing you should do is use fresh and clean rainwater or soft water, it has less harshness when quenching from what I read in one of my books. Another thing to remember is that sometimes you're going get the one piece of scrap that just sucks and isn't any good and that's why people always want to ram it down your throat that you shouldn't use scrap at all. Also, yeah maybe a lower heat might work for that when quenching in water. I want to try quenching in water, but I've had so many screw ups in he past that it has lead me to just using oil. Maybe I might play around with it sometime at a later date.
Live to learn. Forge on. Keep forge lit. Keep making. God bless.
Nice job. Thanks for sharing.
Like your videos a lot, watch them all
Enjoying your videos. How about a shop tour, maybe show us what you have to work with, what you’re planning to add in the future?

I never considered the hardness of the water. Maybe I will try catching some rain water to test out. I appreciate the tips thank you!
