Seems he's got a part-time job after a lame movie cina was helpless as a sniper in Iraq war....lying down the whole movie to the ground in the end got shot...so sad
You did very good job. If you apply clear top coat at the end you will get the best result. I've been painting for 20 yrs in Sydney. And that's one of my favourite feature wall.
Great job bro. I'm an ex painting contractor from Australia and have done a lot of decorative paint finishes and cement paint finishes using Porter's products. Dulux make great products. I'm going to make up my own mix using Portland cement, lime and masonry paint to keep the costs down. I'll finish it all off with a clear masonry sealer. Great tips on using the float to get the burnished effect.
Thorough work! If you want to this amateur style, you can sponge actual portland cement onto the white paint that was already there and then clear coat it, so it's not shedding dust into the room till the sun destroys earth.
Awesome work mate I live in Australia and I've have a tin of this Dulux concrete effects in my room that's been sitting here for over 6months. Because of these lock down laws with the virus I'm actually going to paint our lounge room with it so I thought I'd look up on UA-cam and I came across your vid. It looks easy so I'll be giving it a go in a few days.
How were you able to get that brand shipped here to the States? Dulux says they won’t ship outside AU? Can you provide a link to a source or recommend a similar product that can be purchased locally?
Another thing, you could start with a 220 sandpaper, using a 320, 400 and a 600 grit, in that order in a random orbit sander. It would give you a way smoother surface with more gloss
Nice! I used a similar product on my walls called "JOTUN-lady revival"(Norwegian brand) it looks exactly like yours did, only difference is that it comes in a lot of different color options👌 great tutorial!
Might try hydrating the wall between coats with a mister to increase the working time. The prior coat, when dry, is very porous and will pull the water out of the next coat you’re trying to apply making it much harder to work with.
You do a great job narrating as well as demonstrating your work or concept your trying to achieve. This isn’t an easy thing to do. I got so sick of BS comments I created this account. GREAT JOB!!!!
thank you. its very beautiful! I wanted to ask if i can hang air conditioner and TV on concerte wall? And also it possible to do this concrete on wall with windows? thank you!
Prime the wall with PVA - let it dry - then 1 mix part cement and 1 part drywall mud. Mix with 1 part PVA and 1 part water. Apply with a roller . ( the same technique that you are using ) . It will trowel down hard and slick. I have used this process for 25 years.
@@stephenjackson2663 Firstly thanks to Paint life TV. for the effort making the video. The formula i use is by volume. The industrial look is very popular and since my original post i have probably done a couple thousand sq feet. mainly casinos. The material cost is pennies per sq foot. ( PVA is concrete glue )
I'm always following your work, you're the best and bigger Paint Channel on UA-cam. Your work really inspires mine. If I may, I would like you to suggest just a thingh. Instead of roll the product and after that trowel it, you could apply the product direct with the trowel. I think it would be more effective
Love your work! Do you have any videos on painting concrete exteriors? We just bought a home and the outside is painted concrete and we'd like to keep it instead of any siding.
Hi I enjoy your videos Will this work on an previously painted interior wall of drywall. Also, I'm in Hawaii How do I get my hand on it. The N.Z. Company said they don't ship to Hawaii. Thanks in advance, Jim
You will experience gassing bubbles on the final coat if you overload your roller or let it " air " too much prior to applying to the wall. Even an overworked trowel on the second coat can achieve this anomaly , personally I like this abnormality as it creates an individual finish.
I have to do a repair on a ceiling in my winter home located in Florida. We had a roof leak while we were away and a small section of the ceiling came down. The construction of the house is concrete block with stucco finish. Inside of the house some of the interior walls are concrete also with a smoother stucco finish. I'm trying to figure out what product would be best to use on the ceiling after repairing the drywall board. Someone suggested mixing a small bit of loose plaster with regular joint compound, troweling on a thin layer and getting the finish to match as best as I can. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Where can I buy this Dulux if I’m in the US? I’ve been looking forever and can’t seem to find it. I’m fine having it shipped over seas but still no luck.
Hey, I own a dulux trade centre here in Melbourne Australia (franchisee) we provide all these products and render for exterior wall cladding. We can help you if you need.
@@hhhydra2397 Can you provide a link to this exact paint in your online shop? I did as you said above and can't figure out how to buy this paint from you and deliver it to the USA

Hey Chris, love your videos man! Just was wondering if there is a true way to know how many gallons is needed to paint a home? Maybe a video on how many we need to do interior and exterior both new construction and exciting homes? I had some people say a gallon per wall and some say a gallon a room? Thanks for all your videos!!
I did this to a feature wall, exact same paint. Did yours come out grey with a slight blue tinge? I'm not 100% happy with the end result colour and I'm not sure if it should look grey or grey with a slight blue tinge. Hope that makes sense.
Hey, i was wondering. After all 3 layers and sanding You've made some lines here and there with that metal thing (no idea how it's called in english) but did You apply a very thin coat of paint while doing it, or You just used in clear and all that marks are created because the paint is not actually 100% dry?
After you have done the 3 layers, you use a clean trowel to lightly scrape across the same way you spread the paint to reveal the texture effect. you do this after 2 hours and before 24 hours so the paint is dry but not cured completely.
For American's the brands Dulux but you pronouce it (Due-lux) not -> deluxe.. otherwise...Planning to use this in Aus on a new property so thanks for the Tutorial :)

One of the best tutorial from John Cena. You're great, thank you so much

Hey, I'm a builder from Australia. We also apply a wax coating at the end to get the wall darkened and even more character!
Hi, what type of wax do you use?
Porters wax
Love to see what this looks like mate. I’m finding mine a bit too light grey and plain.
@@buuts hi, you can also use the Dulux sealer which is part of the Dulux concrete range. Makes it go darker and more character
and what type of wax did you use?
Very well done. This is probably the best of the 12 videos I've watched trying to figure out how to do this

that is a very good product I loved using it. I troweled two coats no roller and enjoyed it! polishes up very easy aswell.

The product just seems to be a liquefied Venetian plaster, which could definitely carry benefits with time and material costs.
