Atom SE is a great drone! Especially with the dronemask goggles! The Atom now is completely stabilized with the gimbal and also the shake vanish eis. Kind of like a mavic mini. I’m blown away that Potensic has come this far.
You need to click the arrow under return to home setting and untick the default setting from 400 ft

Thanks so much! I highly recommended the fly-more package comes with three 32 minute batteries and battery hub charger and 64gb card.
If you press on the Signal Lost icon you have to cancel the default return to home which is 120 meters or 400 feet that is why it did not go to the set height of 29 m that you set it at .
I think that after watching your review(s), of hte Atom, that I'll eventually purchase one. I will however, mod one of the antennae(if not both), with detacheable antenna so that I can add patch antennaes.

It now has with the latest update. But to be fair: we are talking a 2x zoom. It doesn't turn the drone into a flying telescope. :)
Under the return to home you must uncheck the box or the drone will always go to 400ft before returning to home. Once you uncheck the box you then can set the slider to the height you want.

The lava mic has something to do with the interference of the drone especially if it Frequency works off 2.4 Ghz,like the dji mic.,anyway! I have a request to ask of you.,first off,great review, like always! So with that said.,my request is, I would love, and appreciated if you could look into the walkera t210 mini and do a review on that quad! I know your fans would appreciate it.,now that is a great drone, with it's hassleblad camera, and also it has throw to fly feature,and a speed of 20 meters in sports mode, and a top speed of 25 meters in alt mode, Cruise control,and so much more, that in my opinion is one of the better quads out there.,I'll even go as far as to say,it competes with the mini dji's in it's own ways.,enough said.,can you please consider doing a video review on the walkera t210 mini?

Did notice something weird (I think): at the begin of the video I notice that both the EV and WB (in K) indicators kept changing while you were flying around. Normally those should stay put. Can you manually set camera parameters??
BTW: I totally missed out on that €399 sale (or mistake?) price on the Autel Nano+ I mentioned a couple of days ago; it went back to €599 :-\
Yes, the camera settings can be changed which I missed. The values kept changing because it was set to auto but you can set it to your preference. I will include those in the next video. Potensic also got back to me regarding the circle flight to see if they can update it so you can make changes while in the circle flight mode like changing the radius and altitude instead of getting you out of the mode with the sticks which would be excellent. Yeah, I thought it was really cheap too!
@@RCEscape Cool. Think if you could get Potensic to include the possibility to change the radius and altitude during the circle-flight, that it would improve the overal experience and usefulness of the Atom. Some more timelapse settings would be handy too :-)
See if you can do some footage during dusk or dawn (not pitch dark) to show how the sensor handles low light.
Will be interesting to see how your distance trial will go :-)
I think the circle at 57min chose the bigger object because the shadow of the car was right behind you in frame so maybe it thought the object was really the larger object. This is all around really really impressive for the price and size!!

@@RCEscape I have to agree. I am in the process of returning my Mini 2 SE as it wouldn't connect to the controller even after DJI put me through all sorts of contortions to "fix it." I don't want to have to fix a brand new system. This one looks like a solid drone for less money (for either the drone and/or the fly more kit) and it does everything I can think of that a drone should be able to do for consumer-level flying and video/photo shooting. Thanks for the extended review. Your time spent doing this for us is much appreciated.
It’s a shame they didn’t add more camera adjustability. It would be nice to shoot in RAW photo format for post photo editing. Also to have AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) stacking different photo exposures for HDR aerial photography. It’s a great quad and they should be able to program that functionality into the app. The Mini 2 does this functionality 👍
It does have some adjustments. I go over them in the distance test flight video.

I don’t have a dji to compare it with so I can’t tell you which is better. However, the fly more package should be a deciding factor.

The DJI Mini 2 SE doesn't have Active Subject Tracking like the Potensic Atom. I have the the DJI Mini SE and can say that the Potensic video quality is better, even on the Potensic Atom SE.

Hi. Would like to know if you set your height at 200 ft and you go towards a mountian that is 250ft would this drone rise as the ground under it comes up or would it crash into the mountian ??
This drone does not have obstacle avoidance or what sounds like altitude adjustment that you are asking so it would crash into the side of the mountain in a rth set to 200ft if the mountain is in the way.

Thanks! This is a very good beginner drone for the price. I have no issues recommending this drone to any beginner. Remember that it does not have obstacle avoidance so if the dji drones have that and you want that then dji is what you want. I myself don’t have any of those dji products to compare.

Is it following you or the controller? I've heard it both ways . I'm considering buying this drone. DJI better for a noob?
It is following the phone's gps signal so if you're in a location where your phone's gps is weak, it may have trouble following but if the gps is strong, it will lock on it better and follow better as well.

If you buy a potensic drone you run the risk of having no after sales service support, if you don't buy it direct from potensic or Amazon, if you buy a used drone, they will say they cannot find you on the potensic or Amazon sales. So your not covered. Even if the user drone is only a few days old.

in addition to RC's answer: it's recommended to calibrate the compass again when you change locations, following the advise on the screen.

What is the maximum phone width for the controller?
I have an Huawei P30 Pro and the controller could fit (roughly) another 1cm of phone before it was too big. My phone is 16cm so I think max phone length is 17cm. There is no max width because it plugs in sideways (it can be any width).
For some reason i cant even go a half a mile without it losing connection. Max distance is set. Tried in 2 completely different locations too.
Make a video and upload it so we can see what you’re doing.
Keep us posted on this issue, as it's a bit concerning. Never had this problem with my Atom SE.

I am interested: what bugs did you face? I have a Potensic Atom too. And I am really surprised about it's aibilities. You say the camera sensor is too small. For what? The footages of that drone are awesome, 4k at 30 frames/sec and cristal clear, even under not perfect conditions. Battery life is outstanding, range is more than impressive. Maybe your expectations are too high? :)

Did anybody did distance test?
I’ve maintained stable camera and control link at 1.2km, ~120m elevation in an urban environment with line of sight and my iPhone not on airplane mode.
The drone is so small that maintaining a visual at that distance is difficult on an overcast day, so I didn’t go any farther.

Not a bad drone for the price but don't kid yourself they have a long way to go before they are anywhere near as good as a comparable DJI

Following or optical tracking, I think you're drawing your target too big. Draw a target on only your head and shoulders, rather than your body and surrounding ground.

Who wants to calibrate every time... Never calibrated a fimi drone in 3 years.. Oops I guess that means it's still flying perfectly.. Hm dji ha flawless ha... Hm take that..well that's for the dji droners.. Iam of side..
Only need to calibrate this Potensic Atom once. After that no more. Unless it asks you to do so.
@@driewielIf you do not get a prompt asking you for a calibration then it’s not necessary to do it but it’s always good to do it for the first time. You will also have to recalibrate it every time you fly from a different location that’s significantly farther from the previous one.
@@DroneSyndrome In my case a good optical flow drone would work nice. So I don't have to do compass calibration, wait for satellites, connect the phone, go through all the settings.Because if you are on a bike 120km a day you won't have time to spend an hour on a 3 second clip. So the quicker I can get it in the air the better. Sometihng like the Tello with WiFi controller and SD card slot would be nice.
Then may let it get satellites once in the air and switch on GPS?
The difference between me and people like you who fly drones as their hobby is that the only time I want a drone is once a year on a bike tour. So where you want the best video quality and long range, I'm more interested in how fast I can get it out of a bag and take a photo or short video. None of the drone reviewers here on YT test it! Maybe you can? Compare DJI Mini's to other drones. Which one is fastest? Which one has the best optical flow? What is the best quick shot drone?
So that's what I want. A Billy the Kid quickdraw drone.
