Also a quick update on a future project idea and a bunch of ATV riding videos from fall 2015 and a few mini bike videos from earlier this winter.
NOTE: I am NOT responsible if for some reason you blow your engine. If you drive it responsibly (I.e. Not revving it to the moon until the connecting rod turns to dust) you should not have any problems.

Matthew Meisner just straighten out a paperclip, cut it down to length, bend the ends into hooks and attach it in the holes.

This is a great and simple idea I wish I had thought of this sooner! feeling dumb.
Also yeah take the governor screw out and even not use an air filter and it will breathe very easily. Stock filter is too dense and restrictive. I also did some surgery on the stock muffler on mine and remove that mesh that's on the outermost whole now being taken exhaust can breathe very easily now
As far as i know paperclips arent free. 😝

I weigh 220 and only able to hit around 15-20 mph but after this I'm able to hit around 45 max thanks so much btw it's the same bike (80cc) and mentor for 150 weight on it so it turned it from a children's bike to a fun mini to rip through mud thank you so much❤️
That's the governor! I did the similar to my bike and it moves a lot better!

I followed your directions as best I could, I still don't know what happened. I got up to 68 mph and the next thing I knew, I was delivering a set of twins in a hospital room in Minnesota. I'm a 33 year old father of 3 who lives in the Mojave desert, so you can imagine my confusion.
+FWDlol wow I'll have to ask around see if anyone else has had a similar experience. I did know one guy long ago who hit 88 miles per hour and he was never the same again. Its a crazy world we live in. 😂
i own this same bike i did nothing more then remove the gov screw n got to a top speed of 43km/h after tightening up the cable for the throttle i was able to get slight increase in speed but a much faster starting acceleration

Great mod to gain some speed. I’m 200lbs and hit 36mph. Could this hurt the engine? Yes, you can now rev it higher, be smart and don’t go for rides full throttle the whole time.
I have a Coleman ct200u and i did this and it goes 39mph but it might blow up my engine eventually but if it does ill get a predator 212

I've pushed the throttle down with my hand and it will take off idk how fast but it's fast
So you just took the spring off and put the paper clip on and then attached the spring to the middle of the paper clip so it's only the paper clip connected to the parts and the spring is only connected to the middle of the paper clip?
You don't need to take the spring off and if you do you don't need to put it back on. I just put the paper clip over the spring.

Used to have this same 80cc when I was younger and it went 30 stock then when I did this 65 😂😂 good times but it blew up from pushing it
thanks lol been trying to brige them i was gunna take a throttle cable off an old weed waker but this was easer and my bike revs all the way up and stays up now thanks u earned a new sub

What you are doing is bypassing the governor, these engines are designed for about 3600 rpm. So you have to be carefull doing this as you can easily over rev and throw a rod. But it will certainly make it faster.
Yes I know the dangers, but also the engine is such cheap garbage to begin with that I'm not concerned. My cousin has the same bike and he sheared the crankshaft in two somehow.

Aye once your warranty is up get into the crank cover and disable the internal governor I had one of those bikes on my channel that I did that to that thing put out a lot of power with that puny little motor

I was able to hit 29 mph stock
All you are doing is keeping the governor open instead of letting it do its job. It is more dangerous this way because you have the cheap plastic governor gear spinning WAY faster that it was designed to. So when that plastic gear flies apart then your governor arm jams into your cam and crank and BOOM, parts all over the street! Just remove the governor.
Yeah I know, this was something quick and easy. If I would've open the crank case and taken it out it would've voided the warranty. I'm way past that point now though.

Right now I am doing a of research over this bike. I kept going back in fourth from mini bike or dirt bike. I am buying one on Wednesday for 200 dollars which is a good deal and the bike runs great and has a hunch of brand new parts cant wait to get it. Any information I should know u guys could tell me?
So I'm guessing that with the spring on it's normal distance but with the paper clip on I'm guessing it shortens the distance between the two?
+Aabuschy it doesn't shorten the distance it just keeps it from springing back. The paper clip holds it all the way open.
Doesn't do anything. The gas is factory set to full throttle. The ONLY way to make It faster is to remove the governor inside the crank case.
TacticalIdiot17 this disables the governor. Same result. But by leaving the governor in and revving it that high- the governor gear is plastic and can grenade inside.
Take the throttle screw out too
i hit 30 by taking out the throttle screw

BO3 BEAST I'm not sure it's a little different on each bike. You can use any paper clip, wire, string, anything that can link it

Yes it will wear down the engine faster, but it is a cheap Chinese engine and they are made with lower quality materials, so they will wear out anyway. It all depends on how high you rev the engine and how long you rev it. If it's not over-revved then it won't wear out any faster than they would normally. If it is over-revved you can throw the rod or bust the crankshaft. Just be cautious with the throttle and you'll be fine.
Why would you not get a 212 cc???
I did this but my bike idles too low and shuts off whenever I idle it but it's fine lol

Hey, I have this minibike myself but am wondering if its safe to do or not. I know the engine can blow but could you give me your input on the bike after all your modifications and whether its a safe thing to do when bypassing the governor
TigerTommy4Studios if you want longevity, then no don't do this. I ran it for a few months and it was ok, but then I let it sit and the carb gummed up and it wouldn't idle. I could clean the carb or use one off a parts engine, but I didn't think it was worth it so I swapped it for a bigger engine. The old engine still runs, but bypassing the governor long-term like this runs the possibility of the plastic governor wheel coming apart inside the engine, it could throw the rod, or the flywheel could come apart. If you do it though, just be smart about it - none of those things will happen if you don't over-rev the engine. I never have any problems other than the carb.
TigerTommy4Studios so in a nutshell, it's perfectly safe if you don't over-rev it, but it could shorten the engine's life-span. But hey if it blows up you can put a predator 212 or a gc160 or something in it.

TigerTommy4Studios haha no problem! Be prepared to use a grinder and a welder to "massage" the frame a little, and have 911 on speed dial when you ride it LOL!
NIce rancher what year is it I have a '05 and just installed a winch on it also taking the govner off does it make it faster?

Is it ok to attach a motor cycle trailer to this or make my own ? And they said the run time is 45-60 min run time what if i add more gas to the tank can i run it an extra 30 min ???

The little gas tank hold 0.2 gallons and is actually good for nearly 25 miles per tank
That sounds fun but I don't think it has enough strength to pull a trailer from dead stop.

It's still in the engine, this is bypassing it. It would be ideal to remove the governor completely from the engine but this is a quick and easy solution.
And that is how you blow the motor. The motor can't handle the speed,the throttle cable will snap.

I removed the screw w spring that limit the throttle travel. That's the only thing I did. The bike vibrants pretty bad during high speed. Why? I checked the tension on the chain seems a bit tight...anything else I'm missing?

Boy, that's not a mod, u can use it to control the speed depending on who is riding. It'S a control
+Marcelo animations Op I modified the linkage, It's a mod. But you can use it as a control by taking it off when younger riders are on it.
MachineFreaks I meant that it was something that u should know, not some secret , gigantic change, cause as myself I use it to adjust the speed , depending on where I ride it

Yeah some quick research online didn't get me far. I can see a manufacturer sticker on the side of the engine in a picture but it's too blurry to make out. I already removed most the stickers off of this bike too.

Clean the carburetor out
With dish washing soap and water. Then squeeze it until it's completely dry put it back in and it should run.

It can damage the engine if you rev it too high and for too long. So yes it can be bad for it, so just know the limits of the engine and don't abuse it.

Yep should be. If the engine does blow up it's probably a quality issue, and it give you a good excuse to put a bigger engine in :)
Considering Im only 12,I don't exactly know how to put on a bigger engine,for example a predator 212c,but it i guess its worth the risk since it already has a few problems,but my mom would get mad

The predator is better because it's cheaper and more powerful, the Honda is better because, well it's a Honda. Either one is good in their own way. I picked the predator because one came up for sale for a good deal so I bought it.
