Winter trip to Bozeman Montana, Tesla Model X Long Range Plus

We take a full day trip to Bozeman Montana in early March and check the winter range of our 2021 Tesla Model X Long Range Plus. It was very cold in the morning (-5 degrees F) and our range was reduced from 373 rated to less than 250 miles. What if it breaks down in Montana? I'm not seeing any repair centers in Montana, North Dakota or South Dakota or even Wyoming.

Yes, it is a leap of faith owning a Tesla in my area. The nearest Service Center for me is in Salt Lake. Fortunately, Teslas are pretty reliable, and they have a mobile service that will come to the owner's home for service that does not require a lift. Tire replacement can be done locally by any competent tire center. www.tesla.com/support/mobile-service

It will be some time before the dirt roads around me dry out, but I will do some pavement testing as weather permits. Stay tuned.

Since that holiday update could you switch your reverse noise to coconuts crackling or flatulence or something??

I'm on version 2021.4.11 and have the boombox feature. It will play one of the novelty sounds when the car is traveling at low speeds, but it does not turn off the standard forward and reverse pedestrian noise. The novelty sounds are a bit louder so they mask the standard sounds, but they are still being played. It may be a regulatory thing, but I don't know.

New Tesla cars are purchased directly from Tesla. They have changed the name for current models (post March 2021) from "Long Range Plus" to just "Long Range". The newest models have been updated with new interiors, mechanicals, and have a different battery from our car, which was produced in August 2020. www.tesla.com/
