    The "Modular" part is the actual bit holders, you can pull the holders from inside the cases the same way you did the short box, and rearrange them as you please, which is pretty useful if you only need a select pick-n-mix of bits. For example, if you only need the magnetic bit holder and a pile of short bits, you can fit a mix of those into the 1-sided case with some tilting holders from the large case, and leave the extension in your Impact Driver. That way you carry less bulk and get more done.

      Thank you for sharing on the topic of modular. Much appreciated.

    I found if you wiggle the bit while pulling, it comes out pretty easy

      Robert, just got back from the garage trying your suggestion. At first it didn't want to separate, but after several more attempts it did. I found the more I inserted the bit into the holder and wiggled it, the easier it got, until I noticed metal shavings. I turned the bit to a new position and we were back at a stuck bit. This time I could not wiggle it out. Thank you for sharing the tip.

    I've had the extension for years now, Didn't even know you can remove the tips. LOL.

      I have noticed with lots of tools the manufacture leave it up to the user to figure out how to use it. Took me a long time to learn the proper use of augers. Glad to hear the video was helpful. Thanks for watching.

      Mehdi, one is 4" x 8" x 2 1/8", the other is 4" x 8" x 1 3/8". Hope this helps.

    Holy god damn, not that you couldnt get used to it, but those bits are not sorted out in order at all. Why are there t25's right after the magnetic holder? And why are there sockets after the t25? Doesnt make sense to me.

      I suspect it is a limitation of using set modular storage cases instead of custom cases. You can do some re-arranging to get the more useful pieces together, but due to the various sizes you may still end up with strange partners. Good news is as you consume the various pieces you'll gain more room to re-organize. Thank you for watching and taking the time to write.

    I use my utility knife and wedge it into the retaining ring until it bends up and comes out. I hate when companies put those metal rings in bit holders. Its a cheap alternative to good magnet or quick ejecting collect technology

      I totally agree, I could not catch the ring so I replaced with bit holder that meets my needs. Thank you for sharing.

    Maybe you can just remove the spring in magnetic holder?

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven  Рік тому +1

      Marek, that might be worth trying. At the moment I have several non-spring magnetic holders which do the job. Maybe when things are slow I try and see it if can be done, thanks for sharing the idea.

      @@cfldriven Is the silver one you showed one of them? Because that's not an impact rated bit. That sucker will sheer off with high torque.

      @@KiraSlith The silver one is from TorqueSmith® Socket Adapter & Drive Bit Set - 16 Piece set. While not listed as impact rated it can handle 816 in/lbs according to according to Project Farm ua-cam.com/video/nMQoM6drzLs/v-deo.html. Very impressive kit for just a few bucks.
