- A "quick" walkthrough of how to play Dungeon World and how to make a character using a Play Book.
CORRECTION at 1:22: I say that 2d6 creates a Bell Curve. It does not, it forms more of a Pyramid Curve.

I’ve watched a ton of “how to play DW” videos in preparation of a game I’m going to run,and this is the best explanation of the game I’ve come across yet. Great work!
I'm going to be GMing my first ever campaign this year, so I want to thank you in advance for all the help your videos will be.
Oh fantastic! Thank you for your kind words. I am waaaaaaay overdue on an Adventure Fronts video (my Fronts video moreso hits campaign and some comments over there asked for one specifically on Adventures). But whether I get that video out in time, I appreciate the kind words.
Thank you for this How To video! I was a bit intimidated to start out filling out a character sheet and you did a good job demystifying it.
Ah, finally a good explanation that isn't full of snide asides aimed at other systems. Maybe i can actually get people to start playing.
I'm glad you found it then!
I'm prepping for a Dungeon World Campaign. This is useful to share with my players. Thanks for doing this!
Best Video Explanation for Dungeon World!
I would love for you to go over Fronts and how to create them for a GM.
Thanks for the request! I will look into what all I have to say and get it into the pipeline.
Hello! Just want to let you know that I just posted a video breaking down GM Fronts: ua-cam.com/video/OZ_Vrk5TWg4/v-deo.html
Fairly solid explanation, but turn up your RECORD VOLUME!!!
Excellent intro to DW! One tiny correction: 2d6 gives you a pyramid curve, not a bell curve. Nonetheless, great video!
Fastest way to be wrong is to post it to the Internet. Thanks for the technical term correction!
This game has an ability called "seeing red" that gives you a bonus to "discern reality"? Did the game designers not know what seeing red means? It's another way of saying "blinded by rage". In other words, the phrase is the precise polar opposite of discerning reality. It is used to describe someone who is too angry to think critically. It's like making an ability that lets you move farther in the same amount of time and then calling the ability "slow".
The intention of the design is meant to show that a fighter's senses are heightened in combat in comparison to others. The core mechanical bonuses in the game are about giving players +1's in situations rather having -1's hidden in the rules for players to then get powers to negate. Should they have given everyone a -1 for "Seeing Red" and then the fighter an ability like "Even Keel" to negate it? Fits the words better but leaves the game design. Maybe just keep the ability as is and call it "Combat Senses" or "Combat Insight"? Maybe. But they got you to look at an ability and respond to it, which is half the battle with getting people to pay attention to the rules.
Volume!!!!
