That's what I thought Jayne Brown... Not nice to make her come back. Usually the item is taken in the back and someone prices it and brings it back to me. You then can either buy it or not. Incidentally, the little black bible is a Jehova Witness bible. Blessings to You Danielle. Now I'll be on the look out for the pear basket.

I think those prices at Goodwill are ridiculous. I’ve noticed over the past few months my goodwill has raise the prices prices. Anyone else notice that?
Mine are high here in SW Fl too but these prices are outrageous! I wonder where she lives.
I think it’s because so many people are thrifting more then ever before. It’s so amazing to see what people do with the items they purchase.

I think it is because of the resellers going to Goodwill then selling for a profit online
Ours have gotten ridiculous, purse went from 4.00 to 7.00 plus, shoes 10.00 n up. Not much under 4.00 anymore n as far as the color of the week, I swear they pull most of that off the floor. I search out other thrift stores now. Goodwill can keep their stuff, Greedy CEO
I was happy to see you bought the vintage Bible. I do that when I thrift too. I hate thinking of them without a home and someone to cherish them. If only more people understood how important it is to value them more. One person at a time!🤗☝️
The New World Translation is NOT The Holy Bible. It's a translation by Watchtower Society, used by Jehovah's Witnesses. The Lord opened my eyes to The Truth of this, that this isn't His Holy Word Scripture. That I was deceived into thinking it was. I would pray and ask The Lord Jesus Christ for Truth & discernment. Praying that your eyes will be opened and for your salvation. God Bless You.

I love reading and rarely see thrift resellers looking at books or to hopefully keep some books for themselves. No one seems to read anymore outside of text messages. When we were in school, public school, we actually said the Lord's prayer sometimes. This was not a religious or a Catholic school either but a public elementary school. I don't think it was daily but maybe once a week or something. Also , the Pledge of allegiance every morning,
during the 1960's.
I absolutely love all of the Bible books and the brown purse!!! I absolutely love collecting antique Bible books (whether children's or not) and I get excited when I see other people pick them up too!!!

I would’ve been so annoyed over not being able to get the pear basket. I think I would’ve asked to see a manager. Makes no sense that you had to return the next day! Anyway, love your videos!

Prior to 1965 students used to learn scripture verses that they had to recite, at least my older sisters and brothers did in the 50’s.

I love love Texas thrift …we have a few in San Antonio I always seem to find treasures but the prices are a bit high where I usually seem to find the most treasures I guess they probably know what they have but I love collecting bibles myself I have quite a bit of older vintage ones especially the smaller ones in Spanish
I went to school in the early 6os,it is hard to believe now,but we actually did teach on Judeo Christian princioals.Prayer was also included.
She could have called the manager or you should have asked for the manager. People can be stubborn.

Aw, I am so sorry you couldn't get the pear :( I was excited for you when you showed it, hoping you'd pick it, sigh...I think I would have asked for a manager on that one. They gave you the spoon and wouldn't let you buy the pear? Doorknobs, lol. Paint that handle to whatever you like. Great haul

I have never heard of not letting someone buy an item because no sticker. Seems strange no manager to call for help. A lot of the items seemed to cost more than the thrift stores I go to. Love the items you got. The scarf is a beautiful color.

I looked up the bowl with handle and there are lots for resale. I saw a couple of explanations of what it's for, but the one that made the most sense to me was berry picking bowl.

At my local Goodwill, I have purchased unmarked items before. At the same Goodwill, I was given the same spiel as you. I was told that Goodwill's policy on unmarked item is to send it to the back to get priced and I could come back on a different day to see if item was on the shelves. So frustrating!

I was surprised how hi some of th items were priced. For a second, I thot u were in CA. I am & hav passed up a LOT of things cuz they were ridiculously overpriced. I never thot there wud come a day when I couldn't afford to shop at Goodwill. Still, th thrill of th hunt keeps me going back.
Yeah I think it’s because I’m in a major city! But this is a different store than Goodwill although they are almost just as high!

2:03 I brought 3 of those bowls yesterday at my goodwill.
That’s why we all stop going to the thrift stores are either overprice here and they sell all the good stuff online or they won’t sell it to you because some price tag or somethings missing it just has become inconvenient yard sales are the best thing where we live

I know this is an old video but I think it's a new policy to not sell things without tags. I just had that happen to me recently at our goodwill. I wonder if they think people take the tags off in hopes of getting a cheaper price at checkout.
I agree with you on that GW policy of not selling without a tag! It is infuriating. Like how can your shoppers purchase your items if you don’t price the inventory 😡
I went to a local thrift store and wanted to purchase 2 pillow shams without a tag. They had others on the rack, all priced the same. Couldn’t get them because the person who prices them wasn’t in. So frustrating.
The horse could be a magazine or book holder.
I would have asked to speak to a manager (politely, of course), about the pear. It was really adorable btw.

Would antiquing wax work on that'd handle I've never used it but maybe it would darken it some

A dab of the waverly dark antiquing wax should take the orange out of the handle. You can get it at any craft shop or probably Walmart in with the chalk paint

A Goodwill manager will give you a price at the register. I'd bet money that cashier wanted that pear basket herself, and purchased it at the end of her shift. She was probably the one who removed its price tag in the first place, just so that she could do that. Shady!😥
Expensive! Here in 🇬🇧, almost all of our secondhand shops raise many for charities. Do your thrift or goodwill do that? Also, do you have to pay tax on these goods?
Prices seemed a little high, maybe it's just the area, not familiar with any of these thrifts. Our GW won't sell anything not tagged either. Its a horse head not sure how it could be used. Nice video, thank you & take care. ✨🌟✨⭐

Thats a custom jehovah's witnesses Bible in the thumbnail. They have a new one that's gray and ugly. But it's definitely a great find I kinda wish I still had one for decor 😅
I’ve noticed from watching a lot of thrifting vlogs. Over here in Australia 🇦🇺 prices at our thrift shops are a lot more expensive .
You can use oven cleaner to strip the orange wood handle. Also could sand and then use bleach.
