- Trigger warning for suicide and death and shit. I'm really nervous since this is my first animation using photoshop and I've never uploaded to such a large platform like UA-cam before. I'd love to receive some constructive criticism on what I can do to make this look better! The sketchy style was a stylistic choice, so.. yeah. Hope you guys like it! Oh my GOOOOOOOOOOSSH. I love this video so much! Especially for the symbolism. He commits suicide by drowning, and during the progress, he is stopped when he encounters the devil. The devil has different plans for him, but the boy didn't agree (his reaching). The plan of going to heaven (the bright light) has been abandoned as the devil drags him down to hell with strings.. The visuals are just so deep. Love it.

I agree with you starbunny550 but what about the concrete floor at the end I thing he jumped off of a building but made it seem like he was drowning. He did try to go to heaven but was pulled down into hell by the fact he caused suicide

This seriously gave me a ton of chills;; it's so stunning... I really love the concept as well. Where it seems as though the boy who's committed suicide is struggling to make it to the heavens but the darkness keeps pulling him further down.I think the sketchiness adds effect to the stressful situation. it's such a bone chilling concept, and that's the shit I love.

This was definitely about depression. It’s like your in an ocean. And your drowning, sinking. The water rushes into your lungs, making it hard to breath. The weight of the water weighing you down. And once you finally get to the top, something always pulls you back down again. Or a wave crashes down onto you and your back at the beginning. This demon is tying you down so you can’t fully emerge from the ocean that we call depression. It teases you. Let’s you reach the top, where the sun is shining and you can finally be happy, and it just pulls you right back down again. This endless suffering cycle that just goes on and on. But one day you’ll break those wires, strings, waves, whatever. one day. And you’ll be free.
Tbh this is better than the original meme itself
If you ask me these are his last moments with himself, doubting his death. I don't think he committed suicide by drowning, I think the drowning moments symbolised his last thoughts on himself, anxiety and depression. When he reached out the devil (dark thoughts) pulled him back again. He reconsidered twice but in the end he couldn't fight the demons anymore so in the end he drowned in his lost toxic thoughts. At the end of the video you see him laying on flat floor with blood covered. This is a masterpiece, but I could be wrong in my assumptions, I don't know. Keep up the great work please!

Not only is the symbolism greatly added in ever detail, you have PERFECTLY MATCHED the theme, the timing, the slowness, the softness, of the animation to this very special song which is VERY HARD to do and HARDER to find out there. I had to look back and check but I used 391 frames! Then again I repeated some so the number is probably actually around 200 or something. >u>
Yes-Hi-Hello Dang- I expected at least 500! I've tried animating, the most frames I've gotten into something was 573 animating at 10fps, But this is so smooth and fluent. Your skill and talent honestly just amazes me.

After watching this about 50 million times I think I finally get it. Tell me if I'm wrong. But he's pulling himself down. When he hits the bottom he has an evil smile, and right after that when he tries to jump back up to the top you can see another him (the evil him I think) turn to look at him, then you see him actually pull the red thread, and finally in a later scene you can see him smile again. I feel like I analyzed this too much and this might've been obvious but this is a really good animation and it took me awhile to get that he was committing suicide the first time because it's very complex, a lot more so than other animation memes which is a good thing.
currently you are the only animator I've found on youtube with very few exceptions who's animations actually make me /want/ to know more about your characters and their stories! I love these so freaking much! Thank you!

I just spend fifteen minutes looking for this video and it was so worth it. I absolutely adore the 'sketchty' parts and rewatched the entire video under .25 speed so I could see all the frame shifts. Wonderful job, I love it so much!
Its awesome. Your style choice for this felt fitting, like a project you never finish -because of depression or suicide- despite the sketchyness that is this animation, parts of it did feel more stiff then others, thats not bad but its something that caught my eye. Keep up this good work!!!
