- Appo, whose clone trooper designation was CC-1119, was a clone trooper officer who served as a Clone Sergeant and later as a Clone Commander in the 501st Legion during the Clone Wars. As a soldier in military service to the Galactic Republic, Appo was a veteran of several major battles fought between the Grand Army of the Republic and the droid armies. Why is backing up darth vader worthy of respect. He likely killed kids in the process and undoubtedly slaughtered tons of innocent people.

Fun Fact: The arrow on Appo's helmet is a direct callback to 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' and the character Appa; Dave Filoni worked on the show, and Dee Bradley Baker also did the voice of the flying bison
I know Revenge of the Sith came first long before Clone Wars and Avatar but I wonder what happened to Appo's arrow
The fact that Appo was killed by an exiled Jedi is a great example of how Karma works so well in this universe

Commander Appo is my favorite clone right next to captain Rex and commander Cody because I love appo in revenge of the sith great Jedi purge comic book and the clone wars tv series.

@@Splitcamster I know this wasn’t a question aimed at me, but I don’t like Appo that much. Basically, he was a 501st commanding clone that was the complete opposite to Rex. Whereas Rex disobeyed Order 66, was capable of independent thought, and bravely fought alongside his men in the front lines of most battles the 501st took part in - Appo was always the guy that stayed in the back, the guy that followed with 66, the guy that was like the most basic commander ever. Just followed orders, never showed any personality, never did anything memorable. Just was your same old clone commander that happened to have a nickname and a special arrow mark on his helmet. That’s it. Rex will always be superior to him in my eyes.

@@an18yearoldmongolianguy that's because Appo is only in 1 arc of the Clone Wars and 1 scene in Revenge of the Sith. And Rex followed Order 66 until he got his chip removed I doubt Appo had his taken out. Doesn't seem like your giving the man a fair chance lol
I would like to know what happened to all the immature clones we saw in Attack Of The Clones and Clone Wars who were too young to fight during the Clone Wars. Did they go straight to Storm Troopers when they matured? Did they become Purge Troopers?
Clone troopers and storm troopers are completely different. The clones were replaced by stormtroopers. The stormtroopers were not clones

The first stormtroopers were repurposed clone troopers that gradually got replaced with natural born humans as is seen in The Bad Batch series
The Empire still needed soldiers and as mor natural borns were recruited, they replaced them but it was still a gradual process
the purge troopers were made of the last generation of clones, shown when a jedi lifts their helmets on mon cala

Did the Empire collect all of them before doing so? And if so, why not just use natural born humans like they were doing for stormtroopers?

Probably because of anakin.
Rex became commander of Ahsoka's battalion (332nd ?, I think) so Appo took over the 501st as commander.
Hope Hasbro issues a 6'inch Black Series version for him soon, with his unique Arrow icon and pauldron!

The arrow on Appo's helmet is an Avatar: The Last Airbender reference, as Dave Filoni worked on both shows. In addition to that, Appo and Appa, who the reference was made to, both share a voice actor.

It's okay but we honestly aren't really fans of the series because it doesn't make us care about it at all especially because it's in the sequel era.
Yeah you do have a point but think of it this way what if it wasn’t connected to the Disney trilogy but was instead actually connected to the original Thrawn Trilogy?

If it was the EU I'd care more about it and so far it seems that it can fit with the post ROTJ EU but still i wouldn't get my hopes up because it's disney at the end of the day. That is why we simply refuse to care and blindly enjoy it for what it is without to much investment because we simply don't care anymore.

Whatever all the mainstream-people say: Appo was a Good soldier and probably, he had better skills than Jesse, Hardcase, etc. but Rex, because of his high position as Sergeant.

I still feel that the inhibitor chip was a bad addition to the plot. I know Appo would follow Order 66 willingly. The Clones were already genetic conditioned to follow orders but not too much so their ingenuity in combat would not be affected.
