They say time travel isn't possible, but every night lately (thanks to this channel) I travel back in time for about 20 minutes, back to my junior year of high school, 1978. Dad would be watching Fernwood Tonight or America 2Night in the TV room and I would stop by, crack the door to see what was on, and join him and we would enjoy it together. I stayed up to watch Monty Python's Flying Circus after that, which was MY personal favorite at the time. This was one of the BEST episodes I have watched, for sure. Martin Mull at peak sexy and funny. Fred Willard at PEAK funny here 😂 I have a retroactive crush on him. VERY FERNWOOD TONIGHT vibe. "Heather MacRae (born October 5, 1946) is an American actress known for her role in the Woody Allen 1972 comedy Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)." wow, I think I accidentally saw that movie while my older sisters were watching it in the early 70s! I'll have to watch it again.
I love to read stuff like this. I don't have that personal a relationship with the show but for a long long time I've been a big fan of both Mull and Willard.
@@interfusorthank you sooooo much for bringing these back to us. In 1978 I was 14 years old and Fernwood and America Tonight was on at 11pm every weeknight. I never missed an episode. I would stay up with my mom and watch it, but sometimes she could not stay awake til 11pm since she worked many many hours. I was always secretly disappointed when she could not stay up late, because I really loved sharing good comedy together. Fernwood has always been my lifetime favorite comedy show, with Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2nd place. Anyway thank you sooo much interfusor.
That was a real treat seeing Martin Mull & Melissa Manchester doing "They Never Met!"
One of the better episodes.
Saw him live in the 80's seattle opera house

Benny Hill considered funnier than Monty Python by two TV stations --WOR and WLVI!
His "sister" was Heather McRae
5:08 sister Mirth Gimble
Aahh...'they never met' from mulls lp 'im everyone i ever loved' i watched this originally and remember it well.
Heather was fine.....mmmm....
Sound level sucks!!!
Martin Mull was............well............one of the most boring "performers" I ever saw back then.
