What an incredible layout!
It certainly is, and very well presented!
thanks for coming to bathurst i saw this model to
It was certainly worth the trip! Thanks for watching!
@@WillJamesRailways np!
I visited there the other day and it was great. The guys there are super happy to talk to anyone and share their tricks and thoughts. Even with my Scottish brother in law who I am sure they did not understand at all. Great place.
Great to hear!
Visited back in October this year. ❤
Excellent to hear!
Hi Will. Glad to see you made it here to the museum. It really is a great layout to look after and run. I’ll let the museum staff know about your video. They will appreciate the glowing review you have given.
It was certainly worth the massive detour! I'm really glad i did it! Thank you very much!
Beautiful railroad, beautiful shots 👍
It's more interesting that I thought. I might just drop by next time I'm going pass Bathurst.
I reckon you should! Thanks for watching!
stunning layout. Thanks for your hard work as usual, James!
Thank you! (My name is also Will)
The best large Australian H0 layout I have visited . I prefered the original light blue back scene it originally had.
Certainly is Terry!
Highly recommended, a wonderful family day out love this place Best regards Andrew
Beautiful and almost as nice as Englands Yorkville HO Scale Flying Scotsman
I’ll check it out! Thanks for the suggestion Trevor!
I've been there a couple of times. Beautiful layout and a great way to spend a few hours.
Great to here Steve!
I was there not long after it opened myself it’s an incredible layout and the museum isn’t too bad it’s self well worth the visit
Great to hear Paul! It was excellent to visit.
Thanks for the view of the layout. Certainly be a good day out
Thanks Ken!
Impressive layout. 5112 is a “50 Class” loco, one of the 290 former T class engines renumbered in from 5001 to 5290 in 1924.
Thank you for that Paul!
Great Video, Model Railways are a huge weakness of mine, thanks for sharing
I hear that Tony!
My favourite is Gomez Adams's headons' & dynamiting bridge disasters.
A television class!
Yep, I'm heading up there in the new year, thanks for the reminder 😎👍
Excellent to hear Mark!
Will, thank you for sharing this fantastic layout, and the museum it resides in.
I was lucky to get there in March 2020, just after it opened, and before COVID took hold.
It is a fantastic place to visit, and I found the volunteers who keep it running very friendly, and time provided, will gladly have a chat, and discuss the layout.
I would highly recommend a visit to anyone who hasn't been.
Cheers, and stay safe, Michael
Thank you Michael!
Couldn't agree more with you there, a place any model railway modeller should visit!
A remarkable layout that very much gets me keen to get into my new layout build!
Certainly is Stuart!
Love being a Bathurst boy
I’ll bet! A great place!
A very enjoyable video thank you. That looks like an excellent model railway and great model locomotives on display.
Thank you Paul!
Outstanding layout! I had no idea it existed. Thanks for showing it 😃
Thanks Tony!
Bathurst looks so pretty
An excellent part of the county to visit!
I visited the museum and the layout earlier this year - it is indeed very impressive and well worth a visit for any rail fan or railway modeller.
Absolutely John!
didnt know it existed but always wanted to go to see the race track. this is an extra reason to go
Two great reasons to visit!
I was there earlier this year and loved how much history there is to read and learn about, the layout was stunning, I didn't realize how big it was until I saw it
That's great to hear Stuart!
You can also get to Bathurst via the once daily Dubbo XPT from Sydney :) You might be interested to know the the Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway (OTHR) is currently undergoing track repair and rebuilding to start a tourist service between Oberon and Hazlegrove next year. Though not a member myself, as an Oberon local, I'm watching this project with anticipation.
Thank you for that extra bit of information!
That's awesome to hear! Keen to visit it when it's open!
Wow
I live in Bathurst and never new about the lay out.
Gonna check it out.
Thanks
Ah no way! I’m glad you know now! Thanks for watching!
Visited last tuesday 23_4_24 it is very good, will be wearing the t shirt i bought at rosehill.
Excellent!
Awesome layout thanks for the video if I’m ever in the area I will certainly pop in to have a look.
Thank you Damien!
Magnificent vid and Beard.
Thank you so much!
Seen it! Amazing thing, definitely a must see when going out west.
Couldn't agree more!
I recognize a lot of the old Lima Australian models at that Museum they only made them for a few years so it's nice to see them!
An important part of the Australian model railway hobby!
Great video Will, we were there early this year, it’s truly an amazing model railway
Excellent to hear Robert!
Hi Will, thanks for another wonderful railway juorney, most enjoyable. cant wait for the next one , thx again
Thank you very much Glenn!
Freezing cold place in winter.
The museum or Bathurst?
Brilliant video Will James
Thank you very much!
I never knew about this huge layout. Looks very tricky to video being set in such a dark environment.
Yeah it's really impressive Leo! Certainly worth a visit, however yes, it is set in very low light! Thanks for checking out the channel! Always love your videos!
Nice video Will. I'm pretty sure I have heard about this museum before. What an impressive layout! one I will certainly visit one day. - Nicholas.
Thanks Nicholas! Certainly worth a visit!
This is just so cool!:)
It’s some outstanding craftsmanship!
Marvelous! That museum and that layout really catch the eye, and I'd love to spend hours there!
Need to get them semaphore signals operating, too ;-)
It’s certainly a place I’m already keen to go back to! They did say while I was there that they’re planning on getting the signals all working!
@@WillJamesRailways Keep us updated! More videos!
excellent video
Thank you!
A must visit for any railway modeller
Absolutely!
What a layout! Cheers Will
It’s really great Ken! Certainly worth a visit! Thanks for watching
The correct pronunciation is “Locks-ley” and “Tara-nar”, other than that, nice job.
A staple on this channel is now my fantastic mispronounced Australian town names! Thank you for the correction!
That all depends on where you come from, but that's the thing with Australia, some words are not pronounced the way they read!
Hey mate that is an impressive display another great video👍.
Thanks David!
Another great video Will.👍
Thank you Philp!
Superb
Certainly is!
Very impressive
Certainly is!
Nice work again mate.....keep em coming 🤘😠
I hope I can Joseph!
Great Video! One small point. The Bathurst Bullet does NOT run 4 times a day from Sydney. It runs 2 trips up to Sydney in the early morning and 2 trips down to Bathurst in the late after noon.
However there is a bus service from Lithgow on a more frequent schedule. If one wishes to spend a day at the Museum and use the Bullet for transport one would have to spend two night in the town, but that's O.K. because Bathurst is full of historical and interesting things to see and do. The Sommerfeild meteor collection not the least of them.
Thank you for that George! I just went off the information I was given during the visit! But that certainly helps!
An outstanding part of the country I can’t wait to get back to!
@@WillJamesRailways I used to travel through Bathurst at least once a month , but didn't know about the model. Next time I go it will be on the bullet from Sydney just for the ride.
Its kind of weird hearing someone say "Bathurst is well known for" and that not being the other, rather obvious thing Bathurst is well known for, lol.
Thanks for watching!
Hi. I'm not to sure. But have you been to the Emerald Lake model railway layout? If I remember correctly. It has been running for about 35 years. Cheers
Hey! I have, I was extremely disappointed with it, it was basically just a toy train tail chaser and I seemed over priced as well. It was very lack luster and didn’t reflect how well done the rest of puffing bill railway is!
However I’ve noticed recently on social media it seems a new group might have taken over the building, and hopefully they get it up to a much better standard!
I know where I'm visiting this bathurst 12 hours in February
Ah an excellent town to spend that amount of time in! Certainly some great stuff to see in that area!
Will, do you know if the museum accepts model trains by any chance. I have some Hornby models they might be able to use and once I fall off the perch they can have them as I won't need them any longer.
Hello David, with out being certain, I doubt it, as it is council owned rather than a club! I’d say contacting Lithgow model railway club if you’re in the area would be be the best idea for that!
Can you do a video show casing the AMRA layouts?
Hello, I’m trying to get to layout and make videos on them! It’ll happen!
@@WillJamesRailways alright! Thanks for letting me know.
Excellent coverage, thanks for sharing.
At the risk of being 'that guy', a tiny point of pronunciation from a local: Tara-na.
Thanks Ben!
Thank you for the correction!
Don't worry - non-locals taught people from Mackay to not pronouncee their own city's name "mac-KAY", so I think they'll eventually go to work on Tarana.
It’s pronounced Tara-na
It sure is! Thanks for the correction
@@WillJamesRailways Thanks for a great video mate
Looks great! I will be visiting Australia to see the family in Sydney shortly, so might even get a chance to pop out to Bathurst... not far from my birthplace, Orange!
That’s excellent to hear that you’re coming over! Lots to see in Sydney at least railway wise! Thanks for watching!
