yeah uhm, going great lengths for a bit of glued plastics that says brembo on them that make serviceabilty of the calipers ultra complex and not even cover the whole disk area, like calipers usually do and also let the original dirty calipers peek out below thats RICE in its purest form
I used these covers for 2 years on a Scion TC and Hyundai Genesis with no problems at all. I did not use silicone tho. I made some custom brackets that clip to the top of the caliper so they wont fall off. Also I can say from experience that these covers won't cause rapid or uneven pad wear.
Why not? A true car enthusiast will give you shit for these but 95% of people will think they look cool, so mission accomplished. I would actually agree because I had a terribly hard time keeping my brake calipers shiny when painted. Paint doesn't hold up well against brake dust and road grime. However plastic cleans much easier and doesn't lose it's paint. The only thing that you did wrong in my opinion was the silicone glue. That stuff will make it very hard to get off, and it's actually decreasing the value of the brake system. What I did was custom rig it with a thin perforated metal sheet. I attached one end to the caliper bolts, and then drilled a hole in the cover and screwed the other end. Now it will be much easier to take off, and re-use after a brake pad or rotor replacement.
So many angry people on this holy shit. Its his car let him do what he wants. I am sure he is aware of the risk of putting them on. In my opinion they look sick for the price. Would I recommend painting them instead? Of course. You guys all need to relax.
So funny how many people are mad that he has fake calipers. The same people hating on these fake calipers are the same people hating on people buying real 5000$ brembo brakes by saying “wow why would you put such expensive brakes on a cheap car” haters always gonna hate just cause they mad, use these if you want too cause they look great. People trying to say they cause break fade and over heat the calipers but there is no evidence supporting any of that. People throwing the word “Ricer” around like its some kind of insult like how people call a man/woman a slut cause he/she had sex. Grow up. If u wanna put something on your car, do it. If you like it that’s all that matters. Ain’t nobody trying to impress you bum ass haters. Most of the haters are still in highschool anyways. When you actually get a real car with real money then maybe you will understanding. If you a grown ass man and you still hating then it’s really true that some people never fucking grow up.
Just now looking into caliper covers, as I've tried painting them before but that's not a lasting fix. What blows me away however (and these would HAVE to be PENNIES on the dollar compared to the MGP bolt on), is you would basically have to take your vehicle out of service for a full day while the goop dries! Also, let's say you did buy the bolt on MGP (or there might be other brands too as I will search for), you could actually remove them if you were buying the same vehicle, and sell the vehicle without them on, and save yourself the monies having them installed on your new ride :)
If he likes it its his car, personally I would try to get the correct covers for my car, but that's me. If it looks good and doesn't affect or damage anything then it really doesn't matter. On a separate note I know that everyone loves H.I.D. headlights but not all headlights are designed to have a H.I.D bulb, it causes extreme glare to on coming traffic. If you want H.I.D.'s I suggest upgrading the entire headlight to a projector style lens, this will correct the glare.
Who cares if this people hate, don't care if this video is old, i've seen this before i bought mine, man the car looks cool, i didn't wanna paint mine, so i bough this instead, didn't glue it but bolted it on the caliper, mine on the back broke, the was the one i tighten hard and heard a sound 1 month after it broke, so decided to glue this time..@RX8 TunerIzation how's your car and caliper cover now??
Really good video I have the same problem with painting calipers look good for a while then look dull so going to fit some of these caliper covers on my mokka
@@Az_TRL 6 year old comment, good thing I remember. but no, had the car for 3 years, never melted, use gasket glue "The Right Stuff" is what I used, held up perfectly
If you stick the cover to the caliper, it will fall of as your pads wear down, because you didn't leave enough space by the upper and lower end! The calipers move towards the center of the car, when the pads are getting smaller.
This good video but my question is u put silicon on floating part n i c u said its 10 months already wat about heating part. Did u get any problem to brakes heating or working fine?
as your pads wear down the part you glued will move inwards and push off your caliper covers... you should have glued them to the caliper part that don't move
Wont stay on too long buddy, you stuck them to the moving part of the caliper, whats going to happen when you press the brake and that part pulls inward, its going to rip that cover right off!
It's not for performance as the creator of this video obviously knows the performance won't change. It just looks nice, and not everyone has the money to upgrade to real brembos for that nice look.
But what if caliper will a little stuck and pads will really overheating? I have it happened that the disc temp was raised up to 300+ C degrees! I think the plastic thing would be molten around the pads as a junk...
I'd rather spend 20 bucks for the looks. Some people like racing as a hobby and are willing to buy the real thing. I probably will one day. But they aren't fools for it, they just want the real thing and they're dedicated to their hobby.
I wish my evo came with plastic brembos... wait, no I don't. Anyone can tell these are fake at a very fast glance just based on you can still see the factory caliber bracket. Whatever tho.
I wanted to get some of these but my fear is that they would eventually fall off no matter what kind of high heat glue u used. Could u imagine braking and all of a sudden that plastic thing starts chew up the inside of ur rims the sound would be so crazy. The proper metal ones with brackets cost almost as much as new calipers. So I gets my brakes have to look shitty :(
He didn’t really work hard hater!😂. He wasn’t trying to FOOL anyone. Maybe he wanted a cleaner look, cleaner rims from brake dust(because ANY cover actually helps with dust), custom look for his car…. It doesn’t hurt anyone so stop it! 😂
hi that brembo yellow color for the front and rear? or have another style? coz i bought mind same style all is it okay? hoping for your responds thanks...
You have stuck it to the caliper, which is a floating part and moves closer to the disc as the pads wear. The part you have cut out has no room to move. This is going to cause problems as the brakes wear down!
@Johnathan D'Souza I agree that muscle heads are idiots when it comes to imports, but you sir are not the brightest bulb either. These plastic brake covers do nothing but overheat your brakes and melt at high temps. They may look nice, but they're pretty ricy lol. You'd be best just buying some high temp paint and painting them yourself.
I don’t like how it looks they could have made it exact design as the original calipers. I prefer to paint mine instead of putting some random fake that can overheat the brakes anyways.
i would never let you touch a vehicle, fearing that you may blow the engine out of retardation. if that ever came into our shop we would laugh and say go home.
Guys... Guys... What did you expect.. it is a tuner video... Rice Makers... Anyway he did it for aesthetics sure that's great and all but the fact they had to have a brembo name on it too... makes me believe he is a poser. Stick with the real brembos.. these plastic covers would melt if you ever had enough speed in this. In any V8 or Forced Induction Engine, get the real thing other wise you're going to look like an idiot. For this, rotary engines, inline 4s, no need to worry you're car will never get to the speed at which quality brakes are required.
Obiously somebody who does this doesn´t want to use his brakes at all, because plastic and glue wouldn´t stand the heat. Better to paint the original caliper or leave the single-piston sliding caliper brakes on your car alone alltogether...
That why he buying high temperature glue which can be used one metal or plastic . Plus the plastic is not a cheap plastic that can easy melted . Im using for 3 years . And so effect at all .
What the hell are you guys thinking ??? This SHIT can pop off get jammed in a bad place causing a brake failure !! This SHIT should be against the law !!!!
For greater break efficiency I am going to glue a plastic wind shield over my calipers to interrupt any heat dissipation by air flow!!!!..Holy hell what a wannabe....
Guys trust me this is the biggest waste of time and money ever. I've actually tried these caliper covers on and they will only cause problems . For one your breaks run hotter than normal due to the cover over it. Second if you end up breaking hard there is a good chance that they will fall off. , they fell of for me. . It is safer to just paint your calipers red/yellow or what ever color you wish. they will still stand out

Good god people give the guy a brake! Fake or not its what he liked, and Is cool buy me, stop judging, and learn to appreciate DAMN! Ps good job man!
yea, give the guy a brake! a real set of them actually.
Its the fact that they say Brembo. If he just painted the calipers or it didn't say Brembo, its fine.

guys this mod will significantly improve braking performance!
a trick: you can watch series on flixzone. Been using it for watching loads of movies these days.

absolutely right I glued mine on the fixed part not the moving part
Which part would that be? Towards the corners of each caliper?

what color are your brembo calipers
