    I was just on this tram a couple of weeks ago. It is really as nice as is shown in the video. The motor makes a sound reminiscent of the trams of the '40s - in fact, this line dates from 1942. The conductor is in a neat uniform, and when he enters the car, he bows to the passengers. The Arashiyama station is beautiful, with cherry blossoms (as of when I was there) and small stalls with things to eat.

    I am so impressed by this. Firstly I love looking at the architecture, then the scenes of everyday life as the tram passes by. In Kyoto I especially like the appearance of the tram - maybe somewhat old style but that is great for me - the drivers in their white shirts and ties always standing up - trams running on time no doubt. Japanese efficiency. And catering for the tourists by having the station information in English is an absolute bonus. Well done Kyoto. Many thanks for posting from Australia

    Belle vidéo 👍. C'est très différent des tramways européens (design des véhicules, signalisation) mais avec l'éfficacité japonnaise. Merci aussi pour les annonces bilingues. Amitiés de Belgique 🤗

    Really loved the sound of the air compressor running. It resembles of vintage trams from the 1950"s.....

    It looks more like a light rail train than a tram, with most of the line enclosed between fences

      Tramways are often on private right-of-way to prevent encroachment on the line.

      Have a look for Robert Schwandl Verlag. He has some interesting guides to trams and metros in Japan.

    I love this tram very much (the tram driver's front view is always the best). Excellent job of placing the info in the description, but It would've been so cool if you've added the names of each station the tram stops at in the video :-)

      I agree, it's lacking in most videos about trams and underground cabride ; after 2 or 3 stops, you don't know anymore where you are, even with the vocal announcement

      It is rear entrance step sensor's alarm. When passenger stands by the door, the alarm informs driver.

    Everthing is very very clean. But ugly. No nice houses, no interesting buildings.

      It is very nice and clean.
      But the villages and towns, in general, are not interesting nor beautifull.

      @Rick James
      Well.
      In my opinion the japanese towns and villages are not beautifull. Everthing is very chaothic and you don't see any architectonic rule anywhere. They have not interesting buildings nor houses. It is not a famous country for the beauty of its streeets.
      The country is, in the other side, wonderful? Very probably. I don't know.
      What is nice for me?
      My son
