Such a surprise to see this show up on my home page! Absolutely love Taylor's storytelling she is so talented, her Folklore and evermore album are incredible I highly recommend. Also thank you so much for sharing at the end and opening up, it's nice to hear your thoughts ☺
I love how the last line is "I sit and watch you." Because I feel like it's meant to show that that whole song was a plead going on in her head, but she doesn't actually say any of it. She's screaming into her mind, while she sits and watches him, and then she comes back to the present, and continues not to say it.
@brucebrown3837 same here.im 62 and I tear up everytime I hear that line.Taylor knows exactly how to use her voice to go with the lyrics and emotion to paint a clear picture of or this little 4 minute movies.
Thanks for your insightful reaction. I'm a 73-year-old male (not her perceived demographic) who discovered Taylor just within the past year with her All Too Well ten-minute version. I was blown away by the incredible lyricism. Since then I've taken a whirlwind deep dive into her extensive discography. It's been an amazing journey so far. Her latest works are immensely impressive sonically and most importantly to me... lyrically. I stutter thinking about how every word she uses is completely thought out... no word wasted. Then, going backward in the deep cuts of even her earliest album, Taylor Swift, she writes so precisely, conjuring vivid pictures of the words she's penned. I get lost in the emotions she makes you feel in her songs. I highly recommend taking the Taylor trip to anyone. And on a more personal note... I was married to a most wonderful woman for almost 46 years. We were opposites in almost every way and had a life filled with fights and make-up. She lit up my life like no other, but looking back, I'm sure there were times when I acted in a "tolerate it" way. I took her for granted too many times. She deserved better. But in all that time, and even in those times, our love for each other never really faltered. That spark that first brought us together was always there, burning steadily underneath the roller-coaster of our chaotic existence. The bridge to Tolerate It hits hard for me. I now wonder how many times we were close to losing it all, but just like in her song Coney Island, she "was too polite to leave me". Taylor makes me think. Makes me imagine. I love her for that.
This was incredibly beautiful to read. I'm so glad you've found the beauty in taylors writing. Taylor loves all her fans and has often said that her songs are not just stories of her life, they are stories we have all been in at one point or another. I grew up with Taylor since her fist album and I've matured along with her.
@@yovanna812 Thank you so much for the kind words. I’ve recently realized a huge regret in life, and that is I didn’t discover Taylor Swift many years ago. I was into many music genres back in ‘06, ‘07, and ‘08, and one of them was country. How did I not see the formative years of this young upstart? Where was I when she started shedding her country skin during the Red era and morphed seamlessly into that next decade’s most powerful, instantly recognizable pop star? I must have heard and enjoyed most of her radio hits. How could anyone miss them? I’m sure they were everywhere. But anyway, the rant’s over. I’m starting to catch up, and enjoying the catch. You were there from the start...You have no idea how much I envy you for that! What’s next for Taylor? Anybody’s guess I guess. Will we both be there to welcome it? My answer is YES
I live Taylor but if she does that I hope it's more Reputation like, IMO rap like Doja's last song is quite boring and uninteresting which is sad because I love her music😔
This song is based on the book Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. It's written from the perspective of Mrs de Winter who is not in a very happy relationship with her husband. This is one of my favourites in evermore along with Champagne Problems and Ivy. I would recommended both.
I had never heard this song until a few days ago, and the first time i heard it it fucking hit my in the heart because this song perfectly encompasses me and my friends relationship right now. he was my best friend but some stuff happened over the last few months and now it just feels like he’s tolerating me- it’s a horrible feeling and the last part where it’s like “what would you do it i left, etc etc” made me start sobbing because i feel like ending my friendship with him but the thought of losing him and everything just being memories makes me so sad. in another way it already feels like i’ve lost him.
Watching people discovering Taylor Swift makes my heart warm. One of the many things I love about her is that whatever genre you usually listen to, you’ll also like her music (especially the 2020 albums) her songwriting is out of this world and she just continues to baffle me time after time. Sweet heartfelt moment in the end of the video, really appreciated
The thing about Taylor is that she has a song for every feeling and situation. The personal anecdote you shared at the end of the video is so moving and I hope you find more Taylor Swift songs to relate to. This appeared randomly on my home page and I hope more of this will in the future. I second you listening to Champagne Problems next. And I might be assuming here since I don't know much about the genre, but I think Taylor's album reputation is what's closest to her discography to metal. You might like it. Great video!
@@DestructiveMediaYT yes please do Champagne Problems. Currently binging your TS reactions and I agree you'll really like it. Hands down best bridge ever written, IMO 🙂
Your smile when you said "I'm glad I saw that TikTok" was everything. I'm a 35 yo proud male swiftie and I love watching other people give her music a chance to speak for itself.
this is so unexpected! i love taylor’s music especially her storytelling edit: your wife is completely correct haha taylor has country, pop, folk and more there’s really no genre to put her in
For me when I hear this I think about my mom and the NPD abuse I endured growing up. As a kid I always believed my mom was best friend, she parentified me. I did everything for her, I would do anything for her, I truly believed she didn’t mean to hurt me, and would forgive all her “indiscretions” and believed everything was my own fault. My goals from a very young (like 5/6yrs) were groomed to do everything to make her happy, as it equaled “love” to me. When you have that aha moment about it and realize your relationship for what it truly is…this song is it. This song came out when in therapy with her deciding to go non-contact for my mental health, and Taylor describes this process so perfectly “what would you do if I break free and leave us in ruins? Take this dagger in me and removed, gain the weight of you then lose it. Believe me I could do it. If it’s all in my head tell me now, tell me I’ve got it wrong some how. I know my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it.” The whole song, the inner child begging for the unconditional love of a mother, but for someone with NPD love is always conditional, they will never see you a person and always an extension of themselves and someone who should always do the most for them, while they “tolerate it” and always expect it and will not reciprocate. If this sounds familiar to you, and you’re contemplating going no contact, go to therapy, start choosing you first ❤
I’m so glad that you found therapy in Taylor Swift as more and more of us do. I never thought about this song from a child’s perspective until today. I just want to reach out and give you a hug! 🫶🏼
5:33 That album is Red 😂 folklore and evermore are more about fictional stories Taylor tried to narrate, rather than her own experiences (but still there are a few songs like that, like marjorie, the song about her grandma that you listened to before). Hope you react to more of her songs! :)
Hi! first of all thank you so much for being open to new music and artists you thought you might don't like! just joined your patreon cause I liked your reaction :) thank you for trying. loved your reaction. it's really fun for a swiftie (me) to watch new people who don't know Taylor's music react to her work. I mostly listen to rock and grunge like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana etc. i'm stuck in the early 90's haha so I usually don't gravitate towards pop. but Taylor captured me. as a 32 y.o. guy who is the same age as Taylor, she got me. because of her lyrics. this is a theme with Taylor's music because she always releases whatever supposed to be the 'radio friendly hit' as singles and that's the perception of people who don't follow her career think she's all about. fun, poppy music for teens. which obviously she had that music, but it's not near what she's capable of. her deep cuts are the real good stuff and I wish more of the general public knew about her work. I hope you will react to more Taylor in the future and it's just the beginning. I don't know if you have listened to Taylor's albums before, since you said you heard some but if you are interested to delve into Taylor I compiled a list of recommendation for someone whose new to Taylor. I know it looks like a long list and overwhelming, but it's just looks scary. it goes by so fast if you get into it. I'd recommend starting with this interview she did where she talks everything about what she's been working on the past couple of years: ua-cam.com/video/DYIOaifhjQU/v-deo.html Great lyrics. touching songs: All Too Well 10 Minute Version - ua-cam.com/video/sRxrwjOtIag/v-deo.html it's the fan favorite song by a mile. the 5 minute version was released in 2012 (as part of the Red album, which, as you said is mostly about her relationship with Jake) and it became the fan favorite song right away and during these 10 years Taylor said she wrote a longer, 10 minute version with more verses and they had to cut it down to 5 minutes because she was told she can't release a 10 minute song because it's too long. so now, when Taylor is -re-recording all of her old albums she decided to record the long versions the fans have been begging for, for the past 10 years. it's about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal from around 2010, when she was 19 and he was 30 Taylor also wrote and directed a 'short film' for this song because it's a fan favorite. here it is: ua-cam.com/video/tollGa3S0o8/v-deo.html this is me trying - she wrote this song about struggle of mental health and how we always try and fail and try and fail but we at least try. very powerful song - vimeo.com/633231478 Forever Winter - She wrote this song about a close high school friend who struggled with mental health through his life and he ended up killing himself back in the day when they were young (she wrote this song around 2010) - ua-cam.com/video/TkAomsYFsJw/v-deo.html seven - A song Taylor wrote about a situation with a childhood friend who was in an a violant family and also how childhood experiences we can't do anymore as adults. my tears ricochet - a song she wrote alone about her situation with her former record label, who sold her masters under her. without letting her the opportunity to buy/bid on them - vimeo.com/672536305 Nothing New - Taylor wrote this when she was around 20-21 y.o. about her fears and already being in the music industry for a while and how she already feels like "old news" - ua-cam.com/video/m3fWCRvz5JA/v-deo.html Soon You'll Get Better - a song Taylor wrote about her mom with whom she has very close relationship. her mom has battled breast cancer for a long time now, and in 2019 Taylor revealed that the doctors have told them they diagnosed a brain tumor as well and that inpired Taylor to write this song for her mother - ua-cam.com/video/2xf7DNfKPZM/v-deo.html False God - ua-cam.com/video/kjD3LoXp-Pw/v-deo.html ivy - ua-cam.com/video/9nIOx-ezlzA/v-deo.html peace - vimeo.com/656192967 'tis the damn season - ua-cam.com/video/WuvhOD-mP8M/v-deo.html evermore ft. Bon Iver - ua-cam.com/video/osdoLjUNFnA/v-deo.html Dear John - a song she wrote about her relationship with John Mayer back in 2011 when she was 20 and he was 31 - ua-cam.com/video/m_lQWgYVn10/v-deo.html Long Live - a song Taylor wrote for her fans and her relationship with them - ua-cam.com/video/4M9K0i2TCb0/v-deo.html Clean - ua-cam.com/video/PCSj8ihT1YY/v-deo.html Call It What You Want - about her relationship with her boyfriend of 6 years - ua-cam.com/video/V54CEElTF_U/v-deo.html Lover - about her boyfriend of 6 years - ua-cam.com/video/cvUAzpn48xA/v-deo.html 'Pop' Taylor: A compilation of two performances from the reputation tour who explain why Taylor wrote the album 'reputation' like this. she felt alone and misunderstood: vimeo.com/manage/videos/618279678 Don't Blame Me - vimeo.com/732934043 We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 1989 Tour Version - a 'rock' version of this popular song - ua-cam.com/video/6bVsg1Ik-GQ/v-deo.html Getaway Car - ua-cam.com/video/IH0pAzAYn1g/v-deo.html Haunted - ua-cam.com/video/wYkuHY7ho8w/v-deo.html Back To December - ua-cam.com/video/5EMIDk39654/v-deo.html Style - ua-cam.com/video/P5JLMp08GC0/v-deo.html Wildest Dreams - They actually flew to Africa to film parts of the music video. in the music video Taylor is wearing a black wig and it's a tribute to her grandmother, Marjorie, who was an opera singer (the song Marjorie that you mentioned, is in fact about her grandma) - ua-cam.com/video/OGDkg3QiJmk/v-deo.html You Are In Love - a song she wrote about good friends of her who were a couple and she was inspired by them - ua-cam.com/video/P5JLMp08GC0/v-deo.html New Romantics - ua-cam.com/video/s6te0pW5oBQ/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for this comprehensive list of her work and interviews. Sorry it took so long to pass community checks to get posted publicly. This will be a great reference tool going forward in my Taylor Swift journey, also thank you so much for joining my Patreon! You can now see my reactions early and get in contact with me easily for song suggestions!
This song lends itself to heavy discussions. It hit me hard - I was in that situation before and the pain lingers. Excellent writing can bring things like that to the surface, but it can be cathartic to listen to music like this.
I really appreciated your vulnerability in this reaction video. I'm finding that people who are open and not afraid to acknowledge Taylor's songwriting talents, are my kind of people. This was great :)
You can google a fun quiz, which is "Is it Shakespeare or Taylor Swift?" If you get even one wrong (and you'll likely get more than one wrong), what does that tell you? She is a prolific writer, a poet of a generation. Love watching people discover her. :)
As an ARMY who has kept up with your BTS reactions, I gotta say this was wholly unexpected. Taylor Swifts ability to story-tell is unparalleled imo. I was a Swiftie long before I was ARMY. 💜
I'm also a big rock/metal fan (G&Rs, Queen, Judas Priest, etc) but I've been listening to Taylor since 2007 and even seen her live. She's a real musician with incredibly lyrics. I'm also a grown dude but this song has made me sob like a child a lot of times, I felt like this both in a toxic longtime romantic relationship and with one of my brothers, I feel you. Thank for such a human and relatable video.
The past hurt and sadness in your eyes is palpable, I am so pleased you have your life now, and your wife, bless you sir. My childhood was a mess of abuse interlaced with fear and my confidence has always been low. Somehow this Taylor lady hits the spot for me, which was a shock because I grew up loving Oasis, The Wonderstuff and Midnight Oil, now here I am at 50 with tears in my eyes listening to Folklore, I don't know how she does that so she must be a genius! Wallow in your much deserved love and happiness my friend.
I’m so glad you did this reaction, Brian! I love Taylor Swift! I think she’s one of the best songwriters/storytellers in mainstream music currently. I feel like a lot of people don’t give her a chance because they still have the teenage image of her. People grow up. She’s in her 30’s now but people still view her as the teenage image they have of her. I believe that happens to a lot of people that become famous at a young age. I feel like she has grown so much in her songwriting. Her last 2 albums a lot of the songs were not her personal experiences. I feel like telling someone else’s story in songwriting is one of the most difficult things to portray but she does it so well. Even though I may not always relate to the lyrics in her song on a personal level I can still feel it. Although I don’t have a personal experience that I can relate to the feelings expressed in tolerate it I can actually imagine & picture being in a relationship like that & how that may feel. Thank you for sharing your personal story with us. I’m thankful you were able to get out of the hard life you had when you were younger. I enjoyed your reaction as always!
I think Taylor is like Chris Stapleton each in their own ways...they don't really belong to one genre ...they are their own genres. And both are amazing vocalists and songwriters.
I was really surprised to see this song on your channel and I completely loved it. I'm a huge fan of Taylor's writting. Your thoughts at the end made me see a new perspective of the song. Thank you for sharing with us!
I relate to this song and the relationship with my mother. She abandoned me when I was 3, and I tried until about 6 years ago to get her to be the mother I deserve.
Her song writing is NEXT LEVEL. So pumped when I saw you react to her bubs. 🤭 next Taylor songs; exile!, the 1, all too well the short film (duh!), and all of reputation album and red album. Haha Nice breakdown - took me awhile to digest this one. But I was trying to digest the entire emotional assault that was folklore and evermore.
Hi Bryan. Thank you for this reaction. My daughter has been a fan of Taylor Swift since she (my daughter), was a teenager. I’ve only listened to her songs on the radio and maybe one or two of her songs have made it to my playlist. But even so, I’ve always appreciated her songwriting talent. I’m a lover of words and I gravitate towards lyrics that have meaning and are cleverly put together (it’s why I’m Army💜) lol. This, your reaction, is the first time I’ve actually paid attention to her lyrics. They bring out lots of emotion in me. I don’t particularly show my emotions publicly, but inside, I’m a very emotional person. It’s why I usually try to avoid songs like this. But I can now understand why my daughter loves her so much. Maybe I’ll be listening to more Taylor Swift songs in the near future 😊
Appreciate how thoughtful you are with your reactions - and how thought provoking. Communication is definitely important - and not tolerating being taken for granted…and in turn making sure our loved ones feel loved and celebrated and not just tolerated. (My daughter is a big Swiftie btw. Now I just need her to join me in appreciating BTS!)
I'm your 1k like. And I don't know what to write because I'm speechless I mean I've been a fan of her for a while now but seeing other people be so moved by her lyrics always makes me super emotional. She really is an icon.
Loved your reaction to “Tolerate It,” Brian (to all of TSwift, actually, thank you!), but loved even more you sharing a bit of your personal story- which made me cry knowing you went through that in your early life. I’m very happy you’re in a much better place today & have a beautiful wife and support system in your life. You are loved!! ♥️
Taylor is a masterful songwriter....Her last two albums are absolutely astonishing. You should give both a listen ( Folklore and evermore). I would be perfectly happy for her to stay right here in THIS genre of music for the rest of her career. I appreciate your honesty during this reaction, and may I say, thank goodness you had the opportunity to go with your sister when she left your home. I connect with this song on a literal level, I guess....an ex-husband who not only "tolerated" me, but was abusive on top of that.
Amazing video! Than you for reacting to Taylor's music! If you like rock music you will probably like her songs "Haunted" and "The story of us" from her third album "Speak Now" which was self-written by Taylor after a critic said she couldn't write her own song because she was too young. It's a very good album and I can't wait for the re-record!
Nice! Good to see this! I’m waaayyyy older and just started listening to her in the past 2 years. People who only have heard her pop songs/singles (like me 2 years ago) don’t really understand how good a writer and storyteller she is. Folklore and evermore are more stories/ some fictional some not. This song was inspired by the book Rebecca, and she related to the character because she at one time in her life (as most adults have) felt that way. So it’s not about her directly but she can relate just like we all can. You mentioned about communication. Well, folklore and evermore have two opposite themes. Folklore is about conflict resolution, apologizing, trying to communicate something; evermore is more about endings. Failure to do this or that ultimately ends a relationship. Upon that theme, I think you may enjoy a few songs that fit: Endings from evermore: 1. Coney Island 2. Champagne Problems 3. Evermore 4. Tis the Damn Season (a little electric guitar for you) Folklore conflict resolution/ trying to communicate something: 1. Exile ft Bon Iver 2. This is me trying 3. Illicit Affairs 4. My Tears Ricochet
I love watching people get into Taylor swift and this is a GOOD start for amazing song writing! I just watched your my tears ricochet and cardigan reactions as well and they are all in my top 20 TS songs because of the writing. Excited for you to watch more of her! Also, I don’t know if you have checked out Conan Gray, he’s one of Taylor’s songwriting children, greatly inspired by her - he just came out with his sophomore album and it is easily one of my fav albums of all time! Your story at the end about growing up hard made me think of a song he has on that album called “Family Line” and if you haven’t heard it and want music you can relate to that is good writing, that is a good one 🥺🥺
I also like Taylor swift ❤️ but this was my first time listening to this song 😜 My favourite song from her is Wildest Dreams ✨ her voice there is just super powerfulllllllll !!!!!!
Would love to hear your thoughts on her song evermore with Bon Iver. It's that one song that goes for 5 minutes but when you listen to it it feels like it only went for 2 minutes
I totally feel you about bad childhood. I grew up with druggie parents/aunts/uncles on both sides. my parents got divorced when I was 5. over 35 yrs ago. we (me, my mom, my little sister) would've been homeless several times if not for my mom's parents. luckily it's been a long time ago for me too. things are good for all of us now. thanks for sharing, I think it's important for kids in a similar situation to see that they can have a good life one day.
As a rock fan, react/watch her rock version of “We Are Never Getting Back Together.” It’s semi-frothy pop lyrics that turn into maybe a cool anthem (?), and the production value & rock twist is unexpectedly cool
Really liked this one and have added it to my playlists. Will have to skip it if I'm not in the right mood. But it is really beautiful, heartbreaking 💔 but relatable and beautiful, both the lyrics and sound (great lyrics) - gives me shivers / goosebumps, very audibly pleasing. Also a huge fan of piano, it just really makes makes me feel ❤. So this song got me as soon as it started and the way she vocalises in this really compliments the piano so well. There's a chance I might have heard it a bit in passing, but glad I paid attention and had a proper listen now. Interested to hear more from her. Ive only really heard her more mainstream popular 'pop' type songs and while I think she has a great voice I wasn't a huge fan of those songs and wouldn't go out of my way to listen to them - could tend to get stuck in your head easy (you know 'Shake It Off'). I've never taken the time to check out her music properly but of the songs I've heard of hers this is definetly my favourite. I think I'm going to enjoy more of her songs if they are in this kind of style. Oh I just remembered another song I like called Safe and Sound which she did with the band The Civil Wars - were a great indie folk duo. It was for the Hunger Games movie soundtrack. 🙂
I've been watching your Taylor and Harry reactions (among others) and when you mentioned liking piano, it made me think you should do Falling by Harry Styles. Either the music video or live at the Brit awards.
I am very excited you are going to be listening to Taylor. I started watching you for your BTS reactions but am very happy you are checking out Taylor. BTS and Taylor are the only 2 artists that I really follow, others are ok and I like 1 or 2 of their songs but BTS and Taylor are the only 2 that I love every song and follow them religiously. No other artists can compare to the genius level songwriting, the other thing they have in common unfortunately both artists are subjected to a lot of stereotypes and criticism. If you react to more Taylor, I will watch every video. My favorite TS songs are Trecherous, clean, my tears ricochet, Exile, Cornelia street.
Yeah been there. I found out my then boyfriend was mean to me to ” snap me out of it” after I / we had to abort our child because of birthdefects after I’d had to take cortison shots for really bad arthrities which effected my contraceptive. He said he wanted a child with me , a picketfence a rocking chair and growing old together. The weekend after the abortion he brought me to see his parents and I was hurting really bad and it was meant I thought to be romantic and to welcome me to the family so I wore my best smile though I felt like crying and they were so mean to each other and him and the house was beautiful but the atmospere was not. That night I told him I loved him and he told me he did not. We came home and I had to go in to the hospital again and get a second abortion as I was turning septic. Came back home and remember laying on the floor outside our bedroom looking for/ wanting help a hug anything and getting cutting remarks and a closed door and being so close to suicide hurting so bad mentally, physically, bodily then when I had moved out but haden’t finished the relationship I still had hopeThere was nothing left it was something I missunderstood / something I didn’t see he told me that he had hurt me (that much closer to in fact suicide) on purpose to ”make” me snap out of it. I gently removed his glases and hit him once in the face with an open hand and left. There was nothing left but hurt.
Bryan, I think your idea of auto tune is a little outdated. I watched vocal coaches talking about it and it’s not to make you sound good, it’s a stylistic choice to create some sort of robotic sound. BTS uses in a lot of songs and they are great singers. It does make the sound clear but it’s not gonna correct bad singing 😊
Such a surprise to see this show up on my home page! Absolutely love Taylor's storytelling she is so talented, her Folklore and evermore album are incredible I highly recommend. Also thank you so much for sharing at the end and opening up, it's nice to hear your thoughts ☺
Thank you for listening to my thoughts at the end!
My new hobby is watching people fall in love with taylor swift
This is me
Same. 💯 same.
especially when it’s genuine. Can tell there are a lot that do these reaction videos because of the automatic traffic but aren’t really feeling it….
Same😊
Mine too!!! I’m obsessed ❤
I love how the last line is "I sit and watch you." Because I feel like it's meant to show that that whole song was a plead going on in her head, but she doesn't actually say any of it. She's screaming into her mind, while she sits and watches him, and then she comes back to the present, and continues not to say it.
Omg I love that take on this song!
now that we saw her performance of tolerate it on the eras tour, this is lichrally what she portrayed in her performance which is amazinggggggg
"Now I'm begging for footnotes in the story of your life" ...that lyric kills me every single time.
@brucebrown3837 same here.im 62 and I tear up everytime I hear that line.Taylor knows exactly how to use her voice to go with the lyrics and emotion to paint a clear picture of or this little 4 minute movies.
folklore and evermore are like poetry to music.
I love folklore!

Thank you so much for sharing this
You must be a writer, that was so inciteful! I love her for the same reasons!
@@carolann500 Thanks so much for saying that. Taylor's music draws out words and emotions like no other artist I've ever encountered.

“She is just Taylor” describes her genre perfectly, at this point she could make an rap album and it would probably be good
She is above genres, her genre is music ~
I absolutely love Taylor Swift! Her lyrics are perfect, she has the ability to make you feel everything she’s singing
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing how you found my channel and for watching!
@@DestructiveMediaYT yes please do Champagne Problems. Currently binging your TS reactions and I agree you'll really like it. Hands down best bridge ever written, IMO 🙂
Your smile when you said "I'm glad I saw that TikTok" was everything. I'm a 35 yo proud male swiftie and I love watching other people give her music a chance to speak for itself.
this is so unexpected! i love taylor’s music especially her storytelling
edit: your wife is completely correct haha taylor has country, pop, folk and more there’s really no genre to put her in
Thank you for watching!
I know my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it.”
The whole song, the inner child begging for the unconditional love of a mother, but for someone with NPD love is always conditional, they will never see you a person and always an extension of themselves and someone who should always do the most for them, while they “tolerate it” and always expect it and will not reciprocate.
I'm still mesmerized by her 2020 albums. Such great lyrics, so introspective, so talented.
I'd recommend starting with this interview she did where she talks everything about what she's been working on the past couple of years: ua-cam.com/video/DYIOaifhjQU/v-deo.html
Great lyrics. touching songs:
All Too Well 10 Minute Version - ua-cam.com/video/sRxrwjOtIag/v-deo.html
it's the fan favorite song by a mile. the 5 minute version was released in 2012 (as part of the Red album, which, as you said is mostly about her relationship with Jake) and it became the fan favorite song right away and during these 10 years Taylor said she wrote a longer, 10 minute version with more verses and they had to cut it down to 5 minutes because she was told she can't release a 10 minute song because it's too long. so now, when Taylor is -re-recording all of her old albums she decided to record the long versions the fans have been begging for, for the past 10 years. it's about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal from around 2010, when she was 19 and he was 30
Taylor also wrote and directed a 'short film' for this song because it's a fan favorite. here it is: ua-cam.com/video/tollGa3S0o8/v-deo.html

Soon You'll Get Better - a song Taylor wrote about her mom with whom she has very close relationship. her mom has battled breast cancer for a long time now, and in 2019 Taylor revealed that the doctors have told them they diagnosed a brain tumor as well and that inpired Taylor to write this song for her mother - ua-cam.com/video/2xf7DNfKPZM/v-deo.html

I 2nd ALL OF THESE RECCOMENDATIONS!!!!
Thank you for watching!
I always relate this song with “Happiness” I feel like they’re intertwined should listen to that one as well
You can google a fun quiz, which is "Is it Shakespeare or Taylor Swift?" If you get even one wrong (and you'll likely get more than one wrong), what does that tell you?
Thank you for watching!
Great reaction. I'd recommend the song Champagne Problems 🍾
Thank you for the suggestion!
I second to this
The past hurt and sadness in your eyes is palpable, I am so pleased you have your life now, and your wife, bless you sir.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Your wife sounds so fun, and definitely a swiftie ✨ the reaction was so good, we love 👸🏼 Taylor 🫶🏼
You talking about your childhood and your wife was very emotional. I'm glad you found yourself a Swiftie,. 🥰
I think Taylor is like Chris Stapleton each in their own ways...they don't really belong to one genre ...they are their own genres. And both are amazing vocalists and songwriters.
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
we all relate in different ways, i feel you. sending love to you and your wife :)
Wow Love Taylor she's amazing artist and person, Love this song and Love your reaction too thank you. God Bless 🙏 Borahae 💜
Thank you for watching and commenting!
I am adoring this Taylor content, please continue!
I was really surprised to see this song on your channel and I completely loved it. I'm a huge fan of Taylor's writting.
Your thoughts at the end made me see a new perspective of the song. Thank you for sharing with us!
Thank you so much for watching!
5:10 is it "Marjorie"?
I relate to this song and the relationship with my mother. She abandoned me when I was 3, and I tried until about 6 years ago to get her to be the mother I deserve.
Her song writing is NEXT LEVEL. So pumped when I saw you react to her bubs. 🤭
next Taylor songs; exile!, the 1, all too well the short film (duh!), and all of reputation album and red album. Haha
Nice breakdown - took me awhile to digest this one. But I was trying to digest the entire emotional assault that was folklore and evermore.
Thank you for the suggestions Court and for watching!
The song you she wrote about her grandmother is Marjorie
Marjorie was her grandmother. Her mother's name is Andrea 😉
Oh I just got to the part he asked about her grandma 😁 you just forgot to write the grand part 🤣
@@sandracosta3845 True, I typed mother and did not see it 😂
Another great reaction. You are so honest and raw Bryan. You are by far my favourite UA-camr/reactor. Thank you for doing what you do💜
You have no idea how much I love this comment! Thank you for watching
@@DestructiveMediaYT awwww thank you 😊
Folklore and Evermore are sister albums and she released both in 2020. If you like more upbeat rock style, you should react to the Reputation album.
Taylor Swift is her own genre 💜
I'm your 1k like. And I don't know what to write because I'm speechless I mean I've been a fan of her for a while now but seeing other people be so moved by her lyrics always makes me super emotional. She really is an icon.
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed my video!
This is easily one of my favorite Taylor songs
It's a wonderful song!
Really enjoyed this reaction. It would be amazing if you did a deep dive on Folklore. I think you would find the stories/lyrics absolutely wonderful.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for your kind words!
My sister is a good person, I was lucky she was there for sure.
Really appreciated your vulnerability. 💕
Loved the TS reaction!
Thank you for watching!
Upon that theme, I think you may enjoy a few songs that fit:
Endings from evermore:
1. Coney Island
2. Champagne Problems
3. Evermore
4. Tis the Damn Season (a little electric guitar for you)
Folklore conflict resolution/ trying to communicate something:
1. Exile ft Bon Iver
2. This is me trying
3. Illicit Affairs
4. My Tears Ricochet
You should check out her Reputation album.
Just subscribed subscribed to your channel. Thank You for all that you do and keep up the great work. ❤🙂
Thank you for subscribing!
I also like Taylor swift ❤️ but this was my first time listening to this song 😜
My favourite song from her is Wildest Dreams ✨ her voice there is just super powerfulllllllll !!!!!!
Thank you for sharing this!
Take care if yourself too!
If lyricism is your thing, you really should take a deep dive into Taylor.
I'm planning to, any suggestions for what to listen to next?
@@DestructiveMediaYT All too well 10 minute, My tears ricochet, the moment I knew, this is me trying, champagne problems
Hope to see more of Taylor😍
You definitely will!
PETITION FOR YOU TO REACT TO 1989 TOUR - WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER. It’s in rock version 😍
If you like good lyricism, you absolutely need to listen to Hozier and Halsey. Absolutely exquisite lyricism and totally unique vocalists
“I zone out with country music” it’s not even country music 😂😂😂
Btw, I’m still waiting for your reaction to Aurora 😛
😅
@@DestructiveMediaYT Her writing is amazing, I know you’re gonna love it. Also her voice is so beautiful!
I feel like it’s a daughter talking to her father?
Bryan, I think your idea of auto tune is a little outdated. I watched vocal coaches talking about it and it’s not to make you sound good, it’s a stylistic choice to create some sort of robotic sound. BTS uses in a lot of songs and they are great singers. It does make the sound clear but it’s not gonna correct bad singing 😊
Oh really? Interesting 🤔
@@DestructiveMediaYT Yes, I’ve seen a lot of vocal coaches and music producers talking about it 😊
Bro this isn't country music haha
